The sax player on this song is none other than Kenny G, who was a huge hit that came into his own just ahead of Michael Bolton. I went to a Kenny G concert and Michael Bolton opened for him, about 2 weeks before Michael hit it big, himself. They are a great pair of artists. Both have a long list of hits, mostly in the jazz and R&B/Soul genres. Kenny G actually held for a while, the Guinness World Record for the longest held single note played on a saxophone at over 45 MINUTES. He used a technique known as circular breathing to accomplish this record, but that technique has now been outlawed for further record attempts, as it is somewhat dangerous to perform. As far as Kenny G goes, with most of his hits being instrumentals, check out Silhouette.
It might be sacrilegious to admit, but given the option, I prefer Michael's cover over Otis Redding! Actually, most of Michael's early covers are better to me than the originals. When a Man Loves a Woman and Georgia on My Mind, for example.
I used to play "When I Am Back On My Feet Again" in a class I taught to offenders. It was thought provoking and inspiring for them. Great song!!! Also, another awesome reaction J and Amber.
Yes, yes yes glad you got to Michael Bolton. This is an absolutely great song but you need to hear him singing his cover of when a Man loves a woman absolute fire!!!!!
The very talented Michael Bolton. He has a fantastic catalog! I could go down the list but I won't. Amber his songs are right up your alley. "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You and "When I'm Back On My Feet Again. They are two of my favorites.
When I'm Back on My Feet Again is one of his best! Even though it's on his Greatest Hits album, I never hear anybody talk about that song. Great recommendation that I'm sure they'll never listen to!
It may not be so fashionable these days, but I really love his voice. Even at the height of his popularity, there was some mocking by guys since a lot of women were so entranced. He was one of many artists to cover the Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody." I saw him when "Time Love and Tenderness" was out. He put on a great concert.. The use of the sax in this was masterful.
He had a really hot streak in the late 80's/ early 90's. Bangers you should check out: "How Can We Be Lovers", "Missing You Now", "Steel Bars", "That's What's Love is About", "Time, Love & Tenderness".
I remember my husband taking me to his concert knowing how lucky he would be when we got home! Lol! Bolton is awesome! Wedding and soulful music. I heard he started in rock but didn’t work! He has a great voice ❤❤
I fell i love with Michael Bolton hearing him on the radio and was SHOCKED when I saw a video of him for the first time because I thought he was black from his voice. So in 2013 when he came to Jamaica to perform at our Jazz and Blues festival you best believe I was there screaming at the top of my lungs lol lol lol He was FANTASTIC.
Did you two know Michael Bolton first tried to be a rocker? In 1983 his very first single he released was “FOOLS GAME” sold pretty good but the rest of his album didn’t catch on so his label suggested he turned to adult contemporary and sing more soulful love songs and the rest is history. Give fools game a listen I think you’ll be shocked.
So much emotion is put into his songs it's great to see you finally given into Michael Bolton. He's still got two hand of hits. He had the late 80s 90s cover when it comes to one of the strong men of the time. Hats off to you guys.
I have seen him live 5x, also went to a charity event with him and Kenny G, I bud on a pair of his jeans and got them. I saw him two yrs ago at Pauma casino, he was 65. He appeared so fragile and stiff as I read that he had a back injury?? BUT his voice was still amazing. I saw him at the Anaheim stadium, brought my 7 yr old granddaughter and my 3 yr old granddaughter, they loved him like their Nana. Some man from the stage came down to get to he 3 yr old to take her on stage, she had casts on her legs from a surgery. Michael held her and sang, Said I loved you but I Iied. Just the two of them with a light on them. It was amazing.
Michael Bolton kills it on this and lots of other songs. Blue-eyed soul for sure. If you like this tune I strongly suggest you check out Curtis Stigers on "I Wonder Why". Similar vocal style and Curtis has 2 incredible sax solos in the song as well. It's a deep track but guarantee you will love it! Keep up the great work guys. Peace out.
Michael Bolton, had some great songs, but hands down, "Said I Loved You (But I Lied)" is his BEST (and my favorite). Please give, "Said I Loved You (But I Lied)" a listen. Thanks. Taks care. ♥️
Michael Bolton was a Grammy Award Winner and he has a unique and powerful type of voice. He's style of music before specially during 70s was hardcore rock but he was not able to pull off on top charts. So, he decided to changed his genre during mid 80s into a more soulful ballad with a mixture of rock soul. Most of his songs sold worldwide and able to climbed into top charts specially during 80s to 90s. Please react his song "Completely". It's a very beautiful and soulful power ballad ❤
What a great time it was back then to be alive and to switch on the radio and listen to some smooth, amazing ballads sung by the likes of Anita Baker, Taylor Dane, Luther Vandross, Bon Jovi, Whitney Houston, Lisa Stansfield, George Michael, Toni Braxton, and this man Michael Bolton! Just to name a few! Great reaction J and Amber!
I just took a mental trip to high school !❤ Love seeing young people enjoying the music that made a mark in our stories. The 90’s was a great time to be alive.
Michael Bolton is one of my favorite singers, i saw him live three times and he's amazing !!💯💯🙏 Other great songs of his are Missing You now , Completely, Time ,love & Tenderness ,Fallin
Yes finally. You guys have been sorely missing some more Michael Bolton. He is truly one of the best Male Voices out there. To me he is to the Male voice what Celine Dion is to the Female voice. Michael is definitely the most romantic of all singers. You must do "Said I Loved You But I Lied" next. Also you are also dropping the ball on two other male singers. Richard Marx and Josh Groban.
This has to go on your playlist .. so when you hit random and it pops up you will be so pleasantly surprised , just like we were when it came on the radio .
"WHEN IM BACK ON MY FEET AGAIN" "TIME LOVE AND TENDERNESS" "SAID I LOVED YOU BUT I LIED" "STEEL BARS" "HOW CAN WE BE LOVERS" all great song by Michael Bolton. thanks JORDAN/AMBER/JAY❤❤❤
He has a pretty cool pop/metal hit called Fools Game right after he went solo. Before going solo he was in a rock band called Blackjack with Bruce Kulick. Bruce went on to become the lead guitar player in KISS after Ace Feeley let. Then a few years later Michael Bolton wrote a huge hit ballad for KISS called Forever.
I am a huge Michael Bolton fan, and there are sooo many of his songs I could suggest, but here are some to get you started: Said I loved you, but I lied ( official video), and When a man loves a woman (live). Love what y'all are doing!
One of my favorite songs. Try Steele Bars, he wrote that with Bob Dylan. Been a MB fan since 1991 and seen about 160 concerts in 30+ years. In the beginning he opened for Ozzy Osborne in his band Black Jack along with Bruce Kulick.
Everything Michael Bolton sings is fabulous. He helped mend a broken heart 💔 with me through the 90s. You should react to Time, Love and Tenderness but all his songs are golden
My favorite is to love somebody. But I love everyone of his songs. Time love and tenderness, as someone mentioned earlier, when a man loves a woman, I said, I loved you, but I lied, I think there’s one called I’m missing you? Oh gosh, steel bars, man, beautiful, beautiful beautiful singer!
Funny you should say it's a wedding song. This was our wedding song on September 2nd 1989. The marriage didn't last but the song lives on forever. 🙏🇺🇸✌️😎
You have to check out the live Grammy performance of How Am I Supposed to Live Without You. Michael Bolton and Kenny G. Incredible. Can't go wrong with Michael, even now as an old man, but just so you know, the first like 10 or 11 tracks on his first Greatest Hits album are absolute fire. I was born in 1984 and grew up listening to him with my mom. I always loved him, but kept that to myself until I was old enough not to give a damn because it wasn't cool back then to be a boy that liked Michael Bolton!
Amber's reaction was similar to lots of ladies back in the day....Michael Bolton was VERY popular with the ladies....my grandmother LOVED him! He's a great singer, no doubt.
Always loved Michael's voice and songs, other really great songs are Can I touch you there, Steal bars I said i love you but i lied, Time love and tenderness. All great songs. Other Great songs and artist is Somewhere there's Hope by Steve Perry, She's mine by Steve Perry Strung out by Steve Perry You better wait by Steve Perry Edge of the blade by Journey After the fall by journey. Youll love these to guys 😎❤️🎸👌
Michael Bolton used to sing heavier (almost hard rock ) with Bruce Kulick from KISS and Aldo Nova...Check out the song "Fools Game"!!! You will appreciate another side of Michael Bolton..
The radio station where my ex worked played the bat stuffing out of this one and I thought I didn't want to hear it again. But after all these years, it's almost like hearing it the first time. Thanks for the reminder.
I went to a concert of his in the early 90s at the New Orleans Superdome. I was around 23. The average age of women there was between 30 and 40 so I get there and all these ladies older than me a losing their Dagum minds they were screaming like teenagers, so there’s a break do you think he’s going to change wardrobe or something the Superdome with dark and all you can hear is his voice singing Georgia on my mind, and when the spotlight hit him, he was on the first level actually in the audience just inches away from all these ladies it was something to witness all the ladies losing their minds over Michael Bolton. I’ll never forget it as long as I live.
