Jaime and Brienne need each other and love each other in a way neither of them have ever loved or been loved before. Cersei has controlled Jaime since the day they were both born and their relationship is so unhealthy and co-dependent that he's probably afraid of ending it because it's all he's ever known. Being rid of her is the best thing he can do for himself though because she's a horrible influence on him and it's no co-incidence that Jaime becomes a much better person when they're apart. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Jaime actually kills Cersei in the end, but as much as I want him to be with Brienne, I don't think either of them will ever have the gall or opportunity to make it happen :'(

If Cersei has Brienne killed and makes Jamie watch, I'm gonna cry. These two are made for each other.

There is something about reading Brienne's POVs.. it's just that is so sad.. her life is so sad. I suffer in every page i read of her. I'm always wishing her to change, to change her way of seeing things and herself. In the show she seems much better cause she is not ugly (even if they try to make her look like that) and she MUCH more confident about herself and everything. In the books is pure suffering.. specially cause i'm kind of certain that she will never have a happy life..

But most of all it was his father’s voice, and beside Lord Tywin stood his sister, pale and beautiful, a torch burning in her hand. Yet there came two riders on pale horses, men and mounts both armored. The destriers emerged from the blackness at a slow walk. They make no sound, Jaime realized. No splashing, no clink of mail nor clop of hoof. He remembered Eddard Stark, riding the length of Aerys’s throne room wrapped in silence. Only his eyes had spoken; a lord’s eyes, cold and grey and full of judgment. “Is it you, Stark?” Jaime called. “Come ahead. I never feared you living, I do not fear you dead.” Brienne touched his arm. “There are more.” He saw them too. They were armored all in snow, it seemed to him, and ribbons of mist swirled back from their shoulders. The visors of their helms were closed, but Jaime Lannister did not need to look upon their faces to know them. Five had been his brothers. Oswell Whent and Jon Darry. Lewyn Martell, a prince of Dorne. The White Bull, Gerold Hightower. Ser Arthur Dayne, Sword of the Morning. And beside them, crowned in mist and grief with his long hair streaming behind him, rode Rhaegar Targaryen, Prince of Dragonstone and rightful heir to the Iron Throne. “You don’t frighten me,” he called, turning as they split to either side of him. Then his sword went dark, and only Brienne’s burned, as the ghosts came rushing in. “No,” he said, “no, no, no. Nooooooooo!” Heart pounding, he jerked awake, and found himself in starry darkness amidst a grove of trees. He could taste bile in his mouth, and he was shivering with sweat, hot and cold at once. When he looked down for his sword hand, his wrist ended in leather and linen, wrapped snug around an ugly stump. He felt sudden tears well up in his eyes. I felt it, I felt the strength in my fingers, and the rough leather of the sword’s grip. My hand . . .

This is so bittersweet. I don't believe both of them will survive, and they probably will never have any moments of even the slightest physical intimacy because that seems really unfitting (Brienne is all about honor, and Jaime, ironically, have turned quite chaste over the course of their relationship, starting out acting like a fuckboy), yet their relationship is one of the deepest in the show. They are friends, who respect each other and feel for each other's losses, in the process of realizing that their feelings are much deeper, but there is nothing to do about it. In different circumstances they could be together, but in different circumstances thy'd never even meet in the first place. It's the best, the most nuanced UST pairing I have ever ran into. Top-notch stuff.
