The conflict between Lannisters and Starks starts from the beginning of the show and lasts by the very end. The first war in GoT was exactly the war between these two great houses. Despite their mutual animosity, I always noticed how similar these families were. Both have a big secret: real parentage of Jon 'Snow' (Starks) and all 'Baratheon' children (Lannisters). Both fiercely want to protect their babies, make terrible mistakes and then pay for it. Both start like a big happy family and both lose their siblings one by one.
Obviously, their fates are connected to each other. There is so much sorrow and so many lessons that they brought to each other. In the end of my video I put together the moments illustrating Lannisters/Starks continuity. Maybe for some of you this may seem strange because Starks repeatedly suffered at the Lannisters' hands (Red Wedding, Bran's crippling, Lady’s murder, etc), they really did, but all things Stark children went through changed them and made them stronger. I wish I could see something like a reconciliation in final season but I understand that just would not be fair. However, even if there's no happy ending for these two houses, I was glad to hear that Sansa admired Cersei and 'learned the great deal from her'. I'm also happy with Jaime’s apologizing to Bran (we've been waiting for 7 seasons!). Even Arya, who was looking for Cersei’s head, reminded Tywin of his daughter. So yes, I admit that Lannisters have done many terrible things to Starks, but maybe Stark children themselves are 'the dynasty that will last a thousand years' Tywin and Cersei were talking about. Cersei and Jaime are gone now, as well as all their children, and I'm not sure about any potential relationship between Tyrion and Sansa to be able to continue their common line, but I still hope L&S history won't be remembered as just a brutal bloodshed.
Anyway, I tried to find all parallels between Lannisters and Starks and brought them to you with this vid. Hope you like it ♡
P.S.: I didn't mention Tywin or Tyrion in this video just because I wanted to compare only parents (Cersei&Jaime, Catelyn&Ned) and their children.
