What helps for me: -Every day the same sleep time and same time I wake up: 23.00 - 7.00 - Eating 5 times a day, on fixed times: 8.30, 11.30, 14.30, 17.30, 20.30. I eat small meals then. - No fast carbohydrates My bloodsugar stays stable then and the part of the brain in which migrains probably starts, the hypothalamus, doesn't get disturbed.
I used to have very strong migraines with aura and, in my case the cause was butter. I stopped eating foods with butter and I never had migraines again (except if I eat something with butter by mistake). I hope this information helps someone; it saved me!
Can you eat ghee? I know some people have issues with the A1 protein, found in most cow's dairy. Ghee has had most or all of the protein removed. There's also A2 milk or other dairy available (only the milk in my local area that I've found).
@@w1975b oh wow, I didn't know that about ghee. I get migraines after going to Ocean Basket, I guess that they reuse the oil they fry chips in multiple times and that becomes "poison" to a migraineur, then there is that delicious lemon butter sauce poured over the fish. Healthy food can become toxic if cooked in old re-used oil (even olive oil) and then the butter in the sauce. So difficult to eat out as a migraineur - or eating oer at friends. Food is a social activity, so it becomes tricky to navigate. There must be a solution!
@@razyrazyon5522 I know the feeling. Had one like that a week ago and my whole jaw and teeth had sharp pain. Could barely get any sleep. The only thing that got me through was knowing it would pass eventually and looking forward to the good days.
I hate when people say they have a migraine when it’s just a simple headache. I get migraines from energy drinks, sleep pattern and intense physical activity. They’re the worst!
They are the worst 😭😭 diary, strong smells and sounds are also a trigger for me. The worst is the waiting. Like if I eat, drink or do this will it cause a migraine? It's like walking on thin ice and being in fear constantly.
It's a relief to see that am not alone.. My main triggers are light, watching too much TV and using my phone in darkness.. Haven't done research on food but after watching this video i have realized that it also may be true because, here in Tanzania we use peanut and tomatoes in many of our foods, I also like to eat eggplant plus potatoes..
Triggers: caffeine or abrupt caffeine withdrawal, chocolate, citrus, bananas, msg, bacon and lunch meats and ham (due to the nitrates and nitrites) , all nuts, aged cheese of any variety, figs and dates, dried fruits (due to silfites), pickles, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, fava and broad beans, avocado (she states the opposite), onions, although green onions are ok. I'm a migraine sufferer and have studied the hell out of this.
amazing information here...I am a small frame person and consume my fair share of a favorite night shade -potatoes daily/and actually crave tomatoes......
yep - mine began Dec 31st 2021 - after I had second COVID booster - couldn’t lift head of pillow for day and a half - from then until now I have had more migraines in two years than I have had all the various headaches including migraines I’ve had since 1979 when I left home for college and started noticing headaches - these migraines last three days and I average one a week - no medical professional wants to talk about what’s causing the migraines - they only want to prescribe drugs - also - no one talked with me about food triggers - will consider them and see if changing my diet lessens severity or frequency - good luck to us all - thnx for sharing 🇨🇦🙏
mine start when the weather changes. We have had 6 days of rain/snow mix weather. The sun is shinning today but my migraine came on with vengence this morning. Unable to focus my eyes on the bright light. Going to lay down in a dark room.
I get heat induced migraines (and from other causes, too). They are the worst! I live in Texas and spend 5-6 months of the year avoiding the heat. God bless all with migraines. What a bummer.
I've been having migraines for years and over time I've only developed more triggers and more symptoms. It's horrible. I'm trying my hardest to cut out any triggers but it's hard to keep living life like that. And there's factors I can't control, like barometric pressure and hormonal headaches. I have Theraspec glasses to help with light triggers and I've cut out several foods. I have an oil roller than I keep handy a well as an eye mask. I use blue light filter on all my devices. And I'm on daily medication. But I still get migraines 4-5 times a month, if there's no rain. It's honestly miserable.
Consider getting Angela Stanton's book Fighting the Migraine Epidemic. She suffered migraines herself and has done much research. It's a big book. Hopefully info from the book can help you in future.
I am sorry to know you are suffering. If it helps to know, I have exactly the same issues. I can’t eat many many things because they all trigger migraine. Temperature variations /humidity / loud sounds all are my triggers. It’s crazy that there is no permanent medical solution to migraines. Hope you feel better soon.
right off the top - the barametric pressure changes! I thought so. I live in Honolulu, and had noticed that this could be the reason and now you say this is indeed a trigger! I am so glad that I can figure this stuff out on my own without having to be probed by a zillion specialists....mainly, my triggers are, disrupted sleep pattern, Godiva Choclate/raspberry, red wine- mainly the combo of red wine, and not going to bed the normal time......late in life here now and am able to deal with the wavy line in my right eye, minimal problems that I can deal without major ones as when I was younger. So interesting.
I had migraine when I work in middle east during 2011 it was really a very hot and dry summer when it happen, I notice it that whenever I ate MARS chocolate it triggers. My migraine so intense that I feel nauseated and it wore me down from morning till night. Now I am cured thanks to my own research. I really do my intensive research and finding ways to be healed. I learned from my research to eat almond nuts, salty foods like dry fish and also celery I put it in my soup or salad, furthermore, I never ate MARS cholate no more it works now, I never have episodes of excruciating pain , now I'm leaving without attack for 12 yrs and I share same remedy to my friends.
So it’s 12:00am I’m tried, weak and hungry just waking up after a day long migraine. *To fix myself I need to eat,* whilst the nausea is at bay, so I thought I’d check what I could get away with. Good to know I can eat nothing but kale. great 👍🏻
Consider getting Angela Stanton's book Fighting the Migraine Epidemic. She suffered migraines herself and has done much research. It's a big book. I know your post was 9 months ago, so I'm sorry you've probably suffered with more migraines since then, but hopefully info from the book can help you in future.
@@edithdlp8045 I've recently seen a device called Cefaly advertised for migraine sufferers. It costs quite a bit, but I guess would be worth the price if it works and lasts a long time.
Awesome tips there! What is a good book you recommend to heal migraines? I work from home and had to quit my job at a stage due to getting 4 migraines a month. After a migraine I feel completely "wasted" as if all my energy has been depleted, similar to epileptics after a fit). I also want to ask for your thoughts or recommendations on what careers would be good for migraineurs working from home. What can migraineurs take or do to increase energy levels after a migraine attack?
The pain and illness is not worth it may not be avocado though. Red meat sets mine off along with sunlight and lights on in my room neurologist diagnosed light sensitivity. 50 percent went away but i cant prevent all esprcially spring and summer. I have to put blackout blinds up. They affected my appetite and was in hospital as my weight was so poor. I got headache yesterday. Dont know how im going to manage healthy exercise or eat what I need. Queasiness and stomach pain made worse by food and water. Im 104 over them.
According to Ayurveda, the condition of migraine is termed as ‘’Ardhavbhedhak’’ and it occurs due to an imbalance in tridosha or the three basic energy types: Vata (wind energy), Pitta (fire energy), and Kapha (water energy). Out of these three, Vata and Pitta dosha is mainly responsible for this disorder. Their imbalance causes deep-rooted problems in the body, including weakened digestive and nervous systems. Vata is responsible for the nervous system and brain activity. Pitta controls the dilation of the blood vessels. By studying the external symptoms, it is possible to identify which of the three doshas is causing the attack. CHANDIGARH AYURVED CENTRE
Years ago I discovered avocado’s gave me migraines. So while I love them, I don’t eat them. Tonight I had Mexican food and there was guacamole on my food. Usually I remember to ask for none. I scraped it off, but I still ended up with a headache. (Not migraine thankfully.) Sometimes (but not always) eggs, bananas or certain popcorn (air cooked is best for me vs bagged) trigger them too. By avoiding certain foods I’ve almost eliminated actual migraines.
Great video , we know what the trigger is of Migraines , we wanna know what we can eat . It's a pain in the neck nobody is talking about what can we eat .
Found out that flax seeds or linseeds caused me the terrible migraines of late. They were in the granola I was eating and also the bread. My body was slowly being poisoned. When I found out and stopped eating it my migraines stopped. Be careful guys. Read labels.
Experts still say they don’t exactly know why we get migraines but i’ve had a theory for a long time and this comment section only makes me believe it more. it’s obviously a self defence mechanism although, impractical I think it’s literally just your body saying “I told you I don’t like this so I’m gonna make it stop NOW”
@@kurtkuipers9473 I can eat hot dogs IF they DON'T contain preservatives. Sodium nitrate or sodium nitrite. I have to avoid them in all my foods and drinks, along with any other preservatives or dyes.
@@kurtkuipers9473 By drinking less coffee I was able to get over my coffee addiction. I'm able to enjoy it now, but don't get a headache if something comes up and I can't have it. It's a bigger help now for my occasional headache. Good luck with improving your health. 💫
Egg plant prevokes, kale is an anti inflammatory preventing, peanuts have anti histimines, ginger prevents, avacado prevokes migraines. 🍅 dang I loves those but they have antihistamines. Light and noise prevokes migraines. Dang I love music. Peppermint oils have antihistamines.
I use to get migraines a lot until I goth the daith piercing. I went 4 years with no migraine. Lately I starting back getting migraines a lot. Migraines that wake you out you sleep. I have a migraine right now doctors have no clue what to do. Please anybody have some home remedies that helps lmk cause I feel like dying I notice I usually get them around this fine of year
I haven't tried this yet but I read about it in a magazine. It's a therapy using green light. The green light comes in all different price ranges. The way I look at it, anything is worth a try.
Agree. And when it's not ripe enough it is full of salycilates. But I have a hard time finding a reliable source that indicates that avocados contain histamine as this lady says.
Check your heart arteries.had migraine for 21 years. Finally neurologist advised check your heart. Had artery RCA 99% Blocked. The instant stent opened artery migraines gone for good and no heart attack. Migraine is possible warning sign you are about to have heart attack. Zero migraines now.
More like 50 million Americans suffer with Migraines. Also, my migraines are caused by a hole in my heart, a condition known as PFO. Not all migraines are due to external triggers. I have always been told my migraines would lessen with age. Unfortunately, they’re much worse now more than ever. There is a procedure for closing the hole but it’s only about 50% effective. I have mitral value prolapse, so just not willing to risk more damage to my heart
I think my mitral valve prolapse is linked with my migraines. The migraines and heart palpitations became worse when I used a diuretic which made me dehydrated all the time. I read somewhere that dehydration can induce MVP in normal hearts by shrinking the heart. Drinking lots of water has helped migraine sufferers. I guess it makes sense because dehydration in non-sufferers causes symptoms similar to migraine. Not saying drinking water will help your PFO. I hope you do get to resolve both the hole in the heart and migraines.
