I know this is a little off topic (I’m a bruins fan) and used to love Tom Wilson’s game. What happened or why did he change so much? He seems to be more of a goon then a 20-30 goal power forward. And I realize guys who play that brand of hockey are bound to get fines and hits that cross the line. But he’s been more like John Scott this year than a cam Neely. I know his numbers are still respectable but it sucks seeing a guy turn into Matt Cooke.

@@Peter-tm4sx I don’t want him to stop playing physical but what he’s been doing lately isn’t quite Matt Cooke but it’s getting closer with each incident. And that’s sad because Wilson is a great player that doesn’t need to play dirty to be dominant. I realize when you play as many games as NHLrrs do ur bound to cross the line when you play as physical as Wilson. But his hit on Carlo was totally uncalled for and seemed intentional. That reminded me of Cooke (Cooke would purposely try to hurt guys. Ie stepping on karhlsson’s heel). I didn’t find the panarin incident as bad as others but one slip by panarin and his head is cracked open on the ice. That reminded me more of John Scott (more reckless than dirty). I’m not trying to be a douchey bruins fan. I for the most part respect how the caps play and I loved Wilson for years and always wish we could get a guy like him. I just hope he changes his game a bit

@@Peter-tm4sx cool most likely its Bs vs Caps in round 1.... sort of a tough break for both teams because i think both are top 5 teams in the NHL on paper. We've been great with Taylor Hall, especially 5 on 5. i think the caps are a better match up fit for us. whats your opinion of chara? its incredible that a guy his size can still hang out but with us, as the playoffs progressed he got slower and slower. i think those nagging injuries just catch up to him and hes already not the fastest guy. but id love to see him win another cup.

Agreed, but his long arms also make it very hard to stay on balance when he fights much smaller guys, (Tom Wilson doesn't count) but Chara's worst fights are against small guys that try to protect themselves and he swings himself down trying to whack a mole. Ever notice the biggest guys (6'5" and taller) in the league don't really want to fight Chara? When they do he lands his best hits? Those are his best matchups for his size and reach. Wilson did great to stay low and tug to keep Chara off balance. He knows how to fight on skates well too, not just like goons, because Chara can't really fight EVERYONE the same, and Wilson was smart in this tussle.

I would say no. Chara is not a fighter and picks his spots at times.

Ethan Larsen when you watch Chara rag doll a guy Wilson’s size 5 or 6 years ago, yet alone the whole league being so afraid of him they wouldn’t even try before. The fact that 2 people are standing up to him proves he has lost a little. And he should have. He is a mountain of a man playing one of the most physical sports. The fact that even at a slower pace he’s still better than the average player says how dominant he was when he was younger. And I don’t even care for him. He hasn’t been the most dominant defenseman for over a decade.

You should see him fight when he’s mad. This fight his heart wasn’t in it.

Reeves is good because hes fast with hands but he flares and that would do him no good with chara, chara hits way way harder and his fights are almost always him dominating. Reeves is a great fighter but like I said he doesn't dominate in the same sense
