fun fact! violet chachki’s step-down look for season 8 was supposed to be the same shade of violet as Dita’s dress, but she couldnt find it and opted for the blue instead
What’s weird is that gott mik is in a video discussing that exact dress with Dita and Violet Chacki. It got quite a bit of traction on social media and I can’t help but think the Christian Soriano team saw that and took (heavy) inspiration from that gown.

@@bonnieplattner3094lmao plastique is not her own stylist. plastique gets everything made for her and shells out thousands of dollars per outfit because she can afford to and hasn’t had an actual hand in her drag since s11, at this point if plastique wins, it’s because of her designer.

@@user-nl2wo6mf4q A stylist and a designer are two tremendously different jobs. Almost every All Star AND regular season contestant has other designers making/helping them with the design and construction of their costumes and garments. Saying that she only has wins because of her designer is saying that the only thing that they're judged on is their outfits, which, aside from design challenges, hardly ever influences the judging. Did you not watch the Paint Ball episode? Plastique made one of the only good garments out off all the girls. You need to check that what you're talking about is truthful because you kinda just sound like someone who is salty that she is doing well in the competition and whoever your fav is isn't.
It really doesn't though...like at all. Violet's final gown might be Met Gala appropriate but most of it just isn't even close. Its usually derivative and badly made, until relatively recently.
I have a Christian Sarino purse! I love his designs. He also has a good heart. When no designers wanted to make a gown for Leslie Jones because they didn't think she was "pretty enough" he was the one that step up & made a gorgeous red gown for her & she lookked amazing!!
The stunning taffeta dress reminds me a little bit of Dita Von Teese's wedding dress by Vivienne Westwood. I remember her telling the story to Gottmik and Violet Chachki on No Gorge about when she went to meet with Vivienne Westwood. Dita had told her that she didn't like the dress that she had sketched for her and Vivian basically dismissed her. Vivienne Westwood's husband ended up taking control of designing her dress and it turn out to be absolutely stunning. Although the dress isn't actually made of a taffeta it's a bunch of silk threaded together to look like the color that it is. It just reminds me of the look even though the colors not the same it's similar and even the dress is not exactly similar but it just has the same kind of vibe in my opinion . I do agree, though. I think that this is one of the best if not the best Christian siriano looks. Also, Gottmik looks stunning.😊

I feel the purple taffeta dress was inspired by dida von teases purple taffeta by vivienne westwood who revealed the secret was layering blue and red silk. This dress also inspired violet chachki's step down dress, gottmiks friend.
