Thank you so much BounceFan90 for uploading this race. I was 20 years old when the 1992 Season took place. And thank you for your hard work to upload this race, so now I have, not only the 1992 Season in its fullness, but also I do have from 1992 to 1999 back to back
Eddie Lawson even competed for some races for IndyCar in 1996. Perhaps many question why Interlagos does not receive a Moto GP event, but this track currently proves very insecure to receive motorcycle events, proof of which are the deaths that have been occurring for some years in regional Moto Speed tournaments. Interestingly, Moto GP used the GC identical to that used by Formula 1 at that time.
It was not for motorcycle racing, but it was a planned event because Bernie Eccelstone's company was in charge in 1992 and wanted to force a lot of Formula 1 tracks onto the calendar. That's why races were held in Hungary, Magny Cours (France) or Kyalami (South Africa) that year as well. The race in Interlagos had been on the calendar in 1991 as well, but the riders refused to go there and it was replaced by Le Mans. In 1992, the rider's advocate, Didier DeRadigues, was sent to Brazil and said the track was safe to race. So they went and were shocked to find out how dangerous it really was.
