You don't think more RTV will "chip" off? Do you bring it back to the dealer & have them drop the pan every 3k miles? I'd be seriously PISSED off if I paid $35k for one of these cars right now. Toyota/Subaru should be offering to check these for free, extending warranties, stop sales and fix the problem, he'll do something!!!!

I'm holding off on getting a BRZ to see what comes out of this rtv issue. At first I was considering the GR86 but the looks of the BRZ grew on me and now I think it's a better looking car (totally a subjective thing). That said, other than looks what made we switch to getting a BRZ once all is settled is hearing absolute nightmares of Toyota dealerships not having parts not even for oil changes, mechanics guessing what to do cause they never see boxers and effing up the cars, and dealers outright denying warranty repair based on bogus reasons. Then you here the Subaru side saying that if they have issues Subaru takes care of it no problem making choosing a BRZ seems a no-brainer.

I would highly recommend it and I would ask if you can take pictures of the RTV once they drop the pan so you have proof and hopefully the more proof dealerships send back to Toyota that it will spawn a service bulletin and a change in how much RTV is used.

Hey, how much did it cost you to get this done ? Or was it fully covered by your warranty ?!

I heard the deal you made with them in the video, but just wanted to confirm it was free

It was supposed to be $400 but after the amount of RTV that came out they decided to waive the charge.

@CruiseControl1 I'm watching your break up video right now, this is such a bummer.... the car is beautiful and it really was my dream car but after hearing about all the BS you need to go through in order to maintain it ? I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. I'm definitely better off getting something else.... I'd be able to go to sleep every night without the thought of my engine blowing up on me the next morning. I truly wish toyota built this car entirely themselves with no parts from subaru. Thank you so much for the information I really appreciate it !

@CruiseControl1 I hope so! Then I'd definitely reconsider going for the gr86 again haha if they don't I was thinking of just going for the base 1ls chevy camaro. It's in the exact same price range.
