All four teenagers inside the van that ran over the beloved Polk City librarian in November will be charged as adults in her death, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said Tuesday.
Oh, it most certainly will. Even when se gets out of prison at age 40, she will never get a job. She has permanently ruined her life. Kudos on the investigators that handled this case.
Criminals need to be charged as CRIMINALS regardless of their age. Psychos need to be locked away in cages so they don't harm innocent victims. Whether a victim is murdered by a 10 year old thug or a 40 year old thug does not make the victim any less dead.
I had to press charges against a girl at school that threatened my daughters life. They kicked her out of school for a year. All over a false charge that the girl thought my daughter had ratted her out over smoking in the bathroom. Kids have seriously lost their empathy.
Lying about other kids is nothing new. Happened in the 60s happens now. Now it's much more dangerous because kids are quicker to deadly violence. It may seem a prank and drama at the time, but it's become a serious threat.
Moms and dads need to balls up cut the bull and stay together. Had the primary protector been in the picture Elijah would’ve been sitting in the living room waiting for HIS dad to come get the licks in.
@@-Saigo- Seems to me he was trying to suggest that there was this sudden left turn everything took as kids "who haven't been in trouble before" found themselves in the worst kind of trouble. Something tells me this wasn't the massive leap from community pillars to violent maniacs that his remarks might lead one to believe.
What makes me sadder is she looks like the type of librarian to go up to a quiet kid and ask "How was your day?" she actually looks she would care. Shame that the best souls go through the most.

Militarization of police and taking away the "beat cop" where the cop is in one neighborhood and knows everyone, who is good and bad etc, and ignorance of the law are what have turned pur police into open air prison guards that care not for the citizens or their rights. A compassionate policeman is nearly nonexistent now, rare and precious.
@@GeorgiaPeachHolly What part of working his way up did you not understand.. Also there was a time that there really was no police academy? It was a form of just classes. They didn't call it the police academy back then.. So I take it one step further for ya! He also had to do college 2 degrees to include a masters degree to get this position. 1. A master's in Business 2. A master's Criminal Justice. I never said anything about him NOT doing those things. I just made the comment he started at age 17 and worked his way up. Also to work your way up back then was not that hard because the agency was no where near as large as it is now. So opportunities to move up, sponsors to help some move up was much easier back then. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know he had to go through various classes and schooling to get where he is today.
I will always vote to raise my taxes for more prisons, tube tying, testicular neutering and child abuse prosecutions for breeding while in poverty. Any questions?
A word to Young men and men in general. If your “girlfriend” bates you into physical fights with other people, get rid of her. She is NOT the type of girl to be with. Don’t white knight yourself into prison.

Update for anyone wondering, the driver and adult involved Elijah Stansell, was found guilty of first degree murder and given a mandatory life sentence. The juveniles appear to not have had their cases resolved yet, I wasn't able to locate any information regarding their sentences. The most recent document I could find was a motion for continuance which was granted.
well, she stated for a beatdown, I agree with you though, but the court will likely not go that way, perhaps like the sheriff said, attempted murder. But yes, the ex IS the "firestarter" of all of this. She's what started it all.
Unfortunately a jury would not be able to convict her. That's the worst part of all this. She got far more than she wanted. She got him beat up, broke up the peace of his house, and led to the death of his mother. She herself did nothing more than conspire to commit assault. Accomplice to murder is the harshest thing they could hit her with and I'm not sure if it would stick
Yup I knew many kids that used to brag about this in high school. "They cant put me away bro, I can get away with murder, im 16" - She got what she wanted.
All of those young teens should face adult charges. They all knew better. How disgusting and pointless. This sheriff is very thorough and compassionate...hats off to him.
Not only did they screw up their own lives, but they screwed up Suzette's life. Hunter's life. The community as a whole. They definitely need an awakening to see how them trying to be tough ruined so many lives and that they can not take back a murder.
I love Grady Judd. I live nowhere near where he works but I click on any video with this man’s face. he speaks in such a personal way towards all the. victims in the cases he works.
@Barry Beaubien Dude he killed someone. A random person. If you let hik put of jail hes going to kill more random people who hold different and more logical opinions on losing the people they love and care about.
The ex girlfriend must get a heavy prison sentence because she started and caused it all to happen while she hid in the van like a coward. The same as the murderers. Just dont let them out.
Generally in the US women get sentenced to less time in prison for the same violence that men do. The driver will get the longest sentence and Kimberly will get a sentence, but I'm willing to bet it will be half as much as the driver, even though she was the instigator, the organizer and essentially set it all up. Its likely, those three kids if they never met Kimberly would not have done what they did. But will justice take that into account for sentencing Kimberly?
Oh my God, I have just read this 😭 My thoughts and prayers are with that beautiful lady and her family. I'm truly, truly sorry 😞. Love and peace from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤
I thought that too about the language he used. And he described the crime in detail. The public should be given these details. Years ago, I read the full details of the very well known UK murder of a child. It was especially high profile because the murderers were themselves children under the law. The full details were suppressed but his mother wanted them released and having read it I could see why. It was more horrific, more wicked than my mind could ever have imagined and knowing that information meant that i could never view his murderers with any shred of sympathy. It shaped how I felt about attempts to portray them as vulnerable children. I defy anyone who read those details to be in favour of the softly softly approach they received. . I would hope no one wants to see children routinely locked up for the rest of their lives but surely that should depend on the individual and the details of the crime. A psychopath who actually enjoys inflicting pain, torturing and killing isnt going to "grow out of it".
@Respectable Man there's a difference between prosecution and persecution. What the police is advocating for is prosecution; what you seem to want is persecution. Persecution breeds more crime and harm.
I hope this becomes a lesson to all kids. If you do a crime especially a murder and you're involved in it without stopping it. Let them all have a quick stop, short drop, and swing.
that is what scares me too who knows how much worse kids will get over the years with these trash influences they get, all blessings to all of you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wouldn't happen in the home that I grew up in. My mom, dad or brothers would've shot them and if they didn't die right of, I'd take the gun and would've finished them off. That's how you deal with people that enter your home to do violence to you or your family.

Where were the police when the guy ran over the poor woman? Where were the police when these people, forcefully entered her home to beat up her son? This is why, you should have guns. The thing is the ex girlfriend will get the lightest sentence since she just sat in the van but she was the cause of the whole situation. I hope the system recognizes her being the catalyst and give her a much longer sentence than being a bystander.
If only all four could be put in solitary confinement for the rest of their lives. We don't want the death penalty because it's a little bit cruel. But solitary confinement is humane punishment for a life deliberately taken.

She (and the other two non-drivers) are getting attempted murder charges in the adult system. That is a very serious charge in Florida, and can carry similar sentences to murder itself.
