I don’t really care what it looks like. Not sure why people do. I don’t consider my racing rig to be a fashion statement. Like you I’m concerned with functionality and I also don’t want it to feel cheap. I am concerned about that. Looks like it might feel cheaper than my G29 wheel which would be a shame. I love the leather wrapped metal wheel.
@@ViaticalTree my last wheel was a ps3 logitech with the little shifter on it, and I loved everything about it so I'm sure I'll love this wheel too, looking for that adrenaline rush gt5 use to give me. Going all out this gen
Can't wait ! Congratulations Fanatec for the patnership with Gran Turismo. I'm New but i know you diserved it ! Hope GT7 will be as great as the GT DD !
@Fahad A I definitely can't wait for GT7. I have not tried it with an F1 title yet. I'm still in the learning phase on how to calibrate this base with other games on pc. Ive seen a few reviews where once they put an f1 wheel on the base, it performs pretty well.
@@ignyted1418 I'm also saving up and getting it what do u recommend getting with it anything important should I get with it, Btw I'm also getting the fanatec Shifter and handbrake
@Skie Yt the base wheel is pretty good with most sims. I did pick up the McLaren GT wheel for a little more realism with F1 games and ACC due to my hands being bigger. I say start with the shifter and handbrake. You will have a good time!
Thanks for the video Fanatec, it was a well informed on how to setup from out of the box. Looking forward for when mine arrives sometime next week! :) :)
Thanks a lot for the video! I set up DD Pro in Gran turismo7 , ea WRC, using setup 1-5 from the video, these are the best settings that can be found, and I was looking for) - these are very competent , super!❤🔥💪👍👍🤟
@fanetec will there be a release date on the wheelbase being sold separately for those of us that might have a wheel and pedal set already and would really like to purchase one separately?
Nice wheel for GT7 but I'm getting the WRC wheel for dirt racing games. The 4 PS buttons (triangle, square etc) are too low on the wheel and difficult to reach. I love the rubbery grip material of the wheel though.
dommage que le pack qui est disponible sur votre boutique en ligne ne soit pas livré avec le booster 8Nm. Vous proposez un pack identique pour le même prix mais avec le booster 8Nm sauf qu'il faut payer et attendre 4 mois !
they had a bundle with the boost kit as the same price as the 5nm kit. tried to get the 8nm without having to wait so many more months, even though they already had boost kit available. customer service could definitely be improved.
It's a shame Fanatec does not sell to New Zealand. I would buy it. But now I hope Thrustsmaster or Logitech come out with a direct drive for me to buy and play.
@@amielterence yep, could spell the death of a company or the beginning of it. I'm ready to drop my money on the next pc/console dd wheel that comes out. I'm still willing to buy fanatec if they are willing to sell. I know a lot of people here that would too.
How does my computer know whats going on with my PS5? They are not connected. That's why I have a PS5 and a computer. If I wanted to play a PS5 game on my PC I'd just buy the game for PC????? So how do we update and install software on PS5? My order is arriving a day after I post this.
Hi, mine is being delivered tomorrow by UPS in the UK 🇬🇧 dispatched from Germany 🇩🇪 incurring a massive £160 import charge on top of the US retail price + VAT already paid for. My question is that if the M6 bolts are not included, what size M6 bolts do I need to purchase to attach it to my GT Omega Apex Steering wheel stand? 10mm? 20mm? 50mm? 100mm? Thanks.
You can either press the button combination 'View' + 'X' on your Xbox-licensed wheel, or you can short-press the power button to cycle through the different modes. Xbox mode is active when the power button turns green.
...and no mounting bolts. Come on, put a couple of mounting bolts in the box and make the whole range of pedals easier to mount (two holes in the foot plate on my CSL Elite would have made a painful job a 2 minute breeze)
I own a console, and the DD Pro of course. I can adjust the FFB and sensitivity in-game (GranTurismo Sport and GT7), but I see that you refer to being able to access many settings via the Fanatec website. I assume that I need a PC for that. Also, what about the options and settings accessed from the wheel itself? I'm rather confused about what a console-only player may be able to do to maximise settings during setup. Your video is kinda ambiguous. Can you provide a console-only version? This base and rig, after all, were designed for console users in mind (albeit not exclusively).
Is the wheel base compatible with Xbox Series X? I know the website mentioned it’s ‘Xbox ready’ but no details to be found anywhere including the manual. Also is the wheel itself compatible with Xbox?
All our wheel bases are is marked as 'Xbox Ready' because they have the potential to become Xbox compatible when combined with an Xbox-licensed steering wheel. You can click the 'Xbox Ready' icon on the site for a detailed explanation. If you wish to make any of our hardware Xbox-compatible, then you must use an Xbox-licensed steering wheel. Once you connect such a wheel, everything connected to the wheel base becomes Xbox-compatible. If you combine a Sony-licensed wheel base (like the GT DD Pro) with an Xbox-licensed steering wheel (e.g. the McLaren GT3 V2), you are creating a combination of hardware that works on both Xbox and PlayStation. Our ecosystem is the only one that allows this functionality. The GT DD Pro steering wheel is not Xbox compatible.
@@raymondnist8770 There is only one Xbox mode, indicated by the power button showing green. This mode is only available when an Xbox-licensed wheel is connected to the GT DD Pro wheel base.
i just purchased this and it arrived yesterday but i havent been able to get it to work. i installed all the drivers but the pedal doesnt seem to be reconized by the wheelbase ive uninstalled and reinstalled every driver and nothing. i just contacted support about this maybe i got a defective unit? so sad paid for express because i couldnt wait and now i have it it doesnt work also wish they have a support team in the US
Hey Patrick I actually found out that the rj12 cable that connects the pedals to the base should be connected to the port on the right side of the accelerator rather than the pedal port on the side of the brake pedal. The port should say wheelbase and load cell. Hope this helps you with your issue
My wheel doesn't rotate anywhere near the amount shown in the video when starting. Calibrating itself? . Maybe 30 degrees to the right. Virtually nothing to the left.

Yes, but reinforcements would help. Search RU-vid for 'CSL DD PlaySeat Challenge' and you'll see some tests (the Gran Turismo DD Pro wheel base is the same size, weight, and performance as the CSL DD and has the same mounting options).
Mine arrived on Monday AEST, I had to take the GT wheel off to stow it in my cupboard (frame hasn't arrived) but the wheel was on like a vice grip. I had set the quick release to the unlocked side (turned fully anti-clockwise) and there was a slow and steady movement off the wheelbase but I was so worried about breaking it as it required a scary amount of pulling force (the table clamp was coming off my table easier than the wheel...). It was also extremely difficult to put on in the first place too... Is there something wrong with my unit?
Okay soooooo I purchased this Expresssssssss version aaaaaaaannnnnddddd the TG-T II! It will be quite interesting comparing the original T-GT the Fanatec Podium the DD Pro and the TG-T II.
@@kylerobinson6102 well it's tough to explain on a comment bro anyone who's tried the original T-GT with GT Sport knows how fantastic that wheel was with it and I really want to see how it fairs to the DD PRO compared to the TG-T II. I'll explain it all when I compare them both.
We recommend that you check regularly for new driver versions, because these contain firmware updates for all Fanatec hardware. These updates contain bug fixes plus functionality and performance improvements. But it is not a requirement to update - this product will work on PlayStation out of the box.
Been waiting all year for a ps5 version so I could use this on xbox and pc but don't need pedals a table clamp and the gt7 wheel such a let down the base isn't available even if this won't be shipping before March 22 assuming it's on time. I hope no one is paying 200$ extra for xmas shipping without a guarantee it evens arrives.
Just recieved my DD PRO on 12/8. Paid the extra for the express and it actually arrived early. Can’t believe it. This video is helpful I. Some ways but I need help with an issue having with F1 2021. I start game on my PS5 and when it opens abs asks to press the options button, nothing happens. Grabbed the Dualsense and turned on and works fine with options button. Jusmped into F1 2019 and hit options, no problem. What is happening? GT Sport works amazing , WRC 9+ 10 ehhhh. Need to tinker with the FF settings as not as good as I had it on a TM 300. As for Asseto that need work as well and Competitione sux. Do I need to download the driver and firmware update if I only play PS5? I read no I don’t as it’s “ready out da box” but there is no good manual in the box and everything they send links to CSL DD and focuses on PC. It’s probably a simple fix but ready for F1 or I’m stuck with GT Sport which is like totally diffent game with this thing. Let’s make F1 like that with some help from someone. Greatly appreciated
Hi Patrick, are you using PlayStation Compatibility mode for F1 2021? We have updated several recommended settings on our forum for using different games with the CSL DD / GT DD Pro.
@@DomB_Fanatec Thanks for the Help Dom. Actually, I was not. I went onto Codemasters F1 Forum Yesterday and searched for a post with similar issue and one came up and someone answered to try in Compatibility mode and that indeed solved the problem. I actually replied to a Reddit post from someone last night with the same thing and notified them so I could pass the good word and pay it forward. Thanks for reaching out.
Question is :"could we buy it anywhere else than your website ??" Because impossible to buy it from many many countries unfortunatly (mine especially) !! Reason is, you don't deliver worldwide and that's a shame !
Hi, yesterday the csl dd pro finally arrived, assembled, updated with driver and firmware, with gt sport top..dirt rally 2.0 ok..but with assetto corsa competizione the steering wheel has no force feedback..and project cars 2 does not law. could you help me? Thank you
You can search youtube for 'CSL DD PlaySeat Challenge' and find some tests. (The CSL DD has the same mounting as the GT DD Pro). The pedals have the same hole positions as our other pedals so this is a well-established standard and should fit most rigs.
@@MrFerrariF360 I can't recommend using one third-party product above another. The general advice is to mount any wheel base in the strongest possible way (whether that is a rig, a desk, or something else). You want all of the force feedback detail to go through the wheel, rather than being lost to flex in the object you are mounting to. The PlaySeat Challenge is a lightweight, foldable solution and therefore not as solid as other rigs (including some from PlaySeat themselves). It works, but it is not optimal. I suggest you watch lots of reviews of different rigs and gather lots of different opinions to help with your decision.
@@MrFerrariF360 The mounting of the pedals might need some additional effort. You can download and print out the Drilling Template from the CSL Pedals product page to check. I also recommend that you contact PlaySeat for advice.
The wheel base is superb and shows Fanatec's quality. The rim though - just like the last GT wheel (Thrustmaster T-GT) is just so cheap looking. I guess it is what Sony/Polyphony want so this is not on Fanatec at all. I'll be waiting for the standalone PS/PC compatible wheelbase so I can choose my own rim.
@@SuperPhelix it's fundamentally the same underneath as a CSL DD but has a different casing and is missing one port on the back in comparison to the CSL DD. I don't think the port is used by Fanatec the moment though so no great loss.
Hi, the pedal cable connects to the port marked 'Wheel Base / Load Cell' on the throttle assembly. It is the empty port shown at 4:03 on the left side. It is shown more clearly in our CSL Pedals Video Guide: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SHNy0j-EY8c.html
I did get my gt dd pro and the v2.5x 2 days ago the first day it was amazing on my ps5 with f1 2021 but yesterday there was a vibration in thd wheel base it happends when i m driving and when i m in the pause menu its vibrating with the v2.5 wheel and the gt wheel i have updated the software but it doesnt work its very annoing do i need to send it back?
Hi Cristian, the driver is for installation on a Windows PC. You can only update firmware on this product when it is connected to a Windows PC. You should select 32-bit or 64-bit depending on whether your Windows OS is 32-bit or 64-bit. The driver allows you to update the firmware (as shown in the video), and to use the product with PC games. On PS5 you can just connect to the console straight out of the box, but we recommend that you check our website periodically for driver updates.
Completely new to sim racing and this is my first setup. I have the DD Pro with LC and I’ll be using it on my PS5. I have set it all up physically to my rig and I’m ready to begin setting up the software/drivers etc. I just want to check the step by step process so I don’t brick it or make a mistake. There’s no instructions that show this. I have plugged the RJ12 cable into the pedals and then my wheel base. For me to update the drivers on a laptop am I able to do this by plugging the USB - USB C cable into my laptop and then once it’s all done I can literally just use that same cable to then plug into the PS5?
Hi Ram3s, you only need to use a PC to update the firmware, as shown in the video. But when you are playing on PS5, you can adjust Tuning Menu settings through the Tuning Button on the steering wheel to change your force feedback settings.
There is only one version. It is an Xbox-licensed steering wheel, therefore will activate Xbox compatibility on any Fanatec wheel base. The GT DD Pro wheel base is what activates PlayStation compatibility. Therefore if you combine the McLaren wheel with the GT DD Pro wheel base, you will be creating a combination that works on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
@@Grozny_SimRacer You can use the McLaren wheel on PS4 or PS5 if it is connected to one of our PlayStation-licensed wheel bases. There are three: Podium Racing Wheel F1, CSL Elite Wheel Base + (discontinued), and the Gran Turismo DD Pro.
Hi Gijs, the Gran Turismo DD Pro is compatible with all our steering wheels. So you can indeed purchase the ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula V2.5 and use it together with the Gran Turismo DD Pro wheel base on PS5 and play F1 with it.
@@projectilequestion Are you using the recommended settings from the Fanatec Forum? They are listed by wheel base here: forum.fanatec.com/discussion/629/assetto-corsa-pc-fanatec-recommended-settings/
Okay, thanks these seem really good, but weirdly, since I've been playing with VR, the force feedback has gone weird again. Not as good as it was, but not as bad as that first one. Is it just me, or am I losing my mind?
@@projectilequestion Hi, glad to hear the settings helped. Using VR can be more demanding on the PC, which can affect the feeling of force feedback if your hardware is being pushed too much. But if you think performance isn't an issue, then it could just be that you need to get used to VR. It is quite a different experience because it is essentially messing with your senses, affecting your spatial awareness, balance, etc.
Hi Mario, unfortunately the wheel will not be available separately, this is part of the license agreement. The wheel itself is compatible with all wheel bases including the DD1, so you might be able to find one on the used market. Please note: the DD1 is limited to Low Torque Mode when using this wheel.
