Man, if there was one thing I hated about GT5's multiplayer, it was the fact that almost nobody seemed to know how to corner. They'd just hold down 'x' like good little boys and go flying off the track. Of course there were always a few good drivers who knew better that'd make it interesting.
It's not fair to your subscribers to post such a poor tutorial. If you don't really know what you're doing, don't post anything. 1. The 350Z drifts far better on Confort M tires when using a stock engine. Sports tires have far too much grip to sustain a decent drift with the 350's low stock boost. 2. You got the susp. kit but didn't tune the camber/toe angles, spring rates, or dampers properly to help keep your car at the perfect drifting angle. You don't want your car as low to the ground as you can get. 3. If you're making a drift tutorial... show just that. Nobody is concerned with your personal choice of aesthetics. 4. You need to install a differential so you can boost the accel. and torque sensitivity so that you get more spin on the tail of your car. You won't need more power if this is done. I know I sound critical but if your in the business of informing others you should have the information yourself. I hope this helps.
I've found that the Comfort: Hard tires are the best for drifting out of the box if you're good enough at keeping it in control. Then filter, oil (new or used, always oil), and suspension.
Of course there is! Under 'Drivetrain' you buy the 'Torque distributing centre differential' and go 10% up front and 90% torque for the rear axel.. Another great tip - Get the racing ECU and other upgrades that increases the engine rev. limit. Especially if you want to drift something weak like the Mazda RX-7, but sideway a Mustang Mach 1 in this game and you'll mainly need the superchager :) And of course are double-plated clutches essential for quick-shifts + the customizable transmission.
After ive been drifting for about a year i think if you have average power the most important upgrades if you dont want to drift with a lot of power are the drivetrain upgrades because they make the engine able to rev more freely ^^
The car was quite grippy because of the sports hards. I would recommend Comfort Hard-Medium, those tires will teach you to control your throttle input and your gear changes.
Dude thanks so much for the great help on how to tune and set, I greatly appreciate the help. Once I started drifting the NSX my drifting went 3x better then before. Always been a just basic racing since the first GT.
on the tire situation what i do is for RWD cars i put sport medium on the front and comfort sofft on back having the crappier tire on back will make the car slide easier
what you can try is to buy a fully customisable LSD, then set the front to the lowest, (i think it's 10) and put the rear to the max (60) this will give the rear wheels more acceleration than the front. It still won't be as good as a rear wheel drive car but with some practice you can do some nice drifts.
Another great car is a Suzuki cappuccino. Super light car, good enough horsepower once tuned, great cornering, and amazingly cheap. The thing hugs corners in circuit races and in drifting this thing has great control and feel
Good car and tuning, but you should try with comfort hard/medium/soft, they are the best drifting tires. And do the oil, even with new cars, it online costs 250 cr, and gives you 1-100 BHP.
I used a completely stock 300ZX. Comfort tires. Power on oversteer is great. I got 16000 points sector mode on grand valley without using handbrake or clutch kick.
tip on the best way to make over 1,000,000 credits a race: go under Seasonal Events, look for the 430PP race and race at Cape Ring, buy a Honda Insight (premium) buy parts so it is at about 354PP (i believe, give or take 1 or 2 PP, i forgot the exact #). win the race and originally at 430PP you get about 180,000 credits, with the Insight in 1st place at aprox 354PP you will win around 1,175,000 credits in one race. eliminates the stress of not enough credits.
what i did was i got a 350 z but i tuned the suspension thanks cause this will help a lot but i have sports hard in the front and comfort hard in the back
This is a good setup, but I feel the car hoping a bit on the bumps, and it's a setup for handbrake drift, not the braking drift like I'm used to, since it's a 350z, you can power over with it if your a beginner so the title is well said, but for someone more advanced, some suspension tuning will really help you to drift it more.
You forgot to give it an oil change that would have increased the HP out the bat. A lot of people think that just because you bought a new car from the premium car dealer it dose'nt need an oil change thats not the case you can still give that car an oil change
@tafo01 with a controller you get assisted even when you put everything of, check it when youre drifting by looking behind. then you will see the frontwheels turn in the other directio,. when drifting a steering wheel you dont get assisted.
@MidnightClubGamR Roxio makes something called the Gamecap. It doesn't record in excellent HD like the Hauppauge, but it does work, and its under $100.
@zydang2 Its called a capture card / HD PVR! Mines called a Hauppauge HD PVR (one of the most well known brands). They do run for about 300$ though. Hope that helped :)
No. Even when you buy a brand new car you still change the oil. It increases the horse power and pp on any car, some cars get quite a significant hp upgrade.
I'd recommened Toe setting to be 0 both infront and at the rear, it has less chance to snap oversteer and feel wierd. Also i always use the shittiest tires and try to keep the horsepower as low as possible :)
You can get it from the 4WD event. The lower gear ratio in rally creates an amazing amount of acceleration around corners, and it's suprisingly good at drifting with those close ratios.
you have to put sports s1 tires on front then normal n1 on the back... with that setup you can drift w/o using a handbrake... one more thing increase power... :D
I don't play this game personally, but I couldn't help but think that you should of made the springs softer thaan they are, you could of put a little negative camber, and the tires really should be soft if you want the car to slide more, which is what I tend to use on cars with little horsepower, and also don't focus on the look of the car, your gonna need a differential and transmission, you need to be able to tune the gears, so your almost hitting the redline,
yes i can drift a bit but it is really annoying because of the strong nonadjustable force feedback but i haven't used it in a long time because i have been playing forza 4 but i plan on selling it and getting a fanatec they are really good and you can put on drift mode which reduces the force feedback and allows for the wheel to move fast, but as much as i know it is that the wheel does not move fast enough ;)
When buying a new car, give it an oil change right away before using it, this will increase horsepower by around 15-20. Works on every brand new car purchased
Personally I don't like the 350z, it gives me too much understeer, drift cars should have understeer because you correct it with oversteer, but you shift the weight of the car with a lot of counter steer, I like to use as little counter steer as possible, but that's my preference.
@MakuthePOtHead The RX7 is my car of choice for drifting also for tracks with alot of low speed switch back corners all i did was soften the rear compression by 2 and it was very stable and yet still manageable threw the long sweepers
@xXAPPLEGUYXx Lawl. No, the actual letter is said like zed, in some other English country would pronounce it as zed, such as Britain, or Canada, Americans just changed the way of saying it for some reason. (I'm American)
Yes! i have the Driving Force GT wheel and its very hard to drift compared to the controller. The steering wheel is hard mode lol and takes more skill.
well thats nice and all but what about toe in and out, well in would obviously be stupid but anyway, nothing about camber either. with some negative camber (trial & error, every car is different) in the rear will make the tires spin with less effort and is really a handy trick when you dont have alot of HP. as far as making the front more or less negative camber then the rear, iv seen it all. its all a matter a preference. but anyway i hope this helps somebody.
if im honest, its about 30-40% about the car and its setup but its all about the skill of the driver. U guys have to practice and stop asking these guys "can u give me a car setup for drifting?"
Just checked out this video to see how you set up your car and see this. Hight adjustable suspension? Most of the drift tuning lays in the suspension therefore you should buy a fully adjustable suspension. To make your car work perfect you need to do hours of testing and adjusting your suspension. There is no spesific way to drift tune a car. Buy for example a nissan 240sx and tune it to the full at performance, it will not work perfect. So then everything lays in the suspension tuning.
incorrect, every car gets 5 or more pp for an oil change, which is equal to the Air Filter, so it does help. After all, its been that way on all versions of Gran Turismo.
I bought a 2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit an it had 276 HP stock an i changed the oil and it had approx. 280-285 HP after...then i drove it to break it in an tht actually (believe it or not) frees up some extra HP so stock i got approx. 300 HP out of mine :)
make sure u buy the excatly the right car . its name Fairlady Z Version S (Z33) year 2007. Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) also good for drifting . i've tested it.
The premium Silvia is amazing to drift. You should really try it with Comfort Medium it is perfect with a little tuning! ______________________ What car do you use?
Don't use sports tires for drifting, they have to much grip and catch traction easily during a drift which can throw you right off the track, you should use COMFORT TIRES, most people use comfort hard, makes it very easy to drift but you also have to use a lot of throttle control. Use the analog stick for steering, gas, and brake don't use the x button, it isn't 1998 anymore.
@devastator85 Car comes with an LSD, and he's doing this on a budget. Did you watch the video? I don't think so. It's for newbie drifters trying to get started. The FIRST thing they want to do is mess around with numbers that don't make sense to them. Right?
@NaNaNaNiii There's no 'wax on wax off' of drifting. You learn by doin it...The first drifters invented drifting out there on the PS1 by feelin it. So feel it.
@Kent133 I do with one of my BMW's. Its spins out funny with comforts. I have 1 or 2 other cars I use sports tires on too but usually, with anything above comfort, I cant get the stupid (extreme) entry's I like to do and it will whip back straight when I try to weight shift.
@Drifter9020 if it's a wheel, I recommend unplugging it and use the controller. xD unless you can drive or drift in real life, the steering wheel is so realistic it's almost impossible.
whats wrong with sports hard? comfort hard is worse when you come out from a corner and try to adjust the car. some cars seem better with comfort but not on the 350z
