I would have been very happy if they made it 10 minutes longer...LOL! This is REAL rock and rock. They were jamming! Passionate, soulful, funky, enthusiastic, bluesy, everything rolled into one of the best live songs ever recorded. I guess it either touches your soul, or it doesn't. This one stomps on my soul!!

I bought the double live album at 13 years with money I made mowing lawns, My friends would come over just to hear the live versions the DJ’d s played on the radio All time greatest band in my opinion of our generation it’s in your face foot stomping music, 3 guys producing so much raw sound with such passion.

I've been a fan of Grand Funk Railroad for years and glad you finally reacted to one of their songs. I knew as a long time subscriber you wouldn't like the screaming parts but, as I've said in the past, the reason I subscribe is to hear your honest opinion, and not a glossed over reaction. Thanks for keeping it real, as always. 🙂👍

Thank you Rebeka Luize for this reaction. Indeed one of the most extraordinary three-piece band ever. Brilliant musicians, the energy they would put in every live performance, but Mark Farner will always be, at least for me, the great musician and singer of Grand Funk Railroad. This performance is more a jamming session, in my opinion, but I agree with you. Mark is a native American by his mother's side and he is still playing and recording songs from his cultural heritage. It's always a pleasure listening to your musical choices and watching your reactions. Take care, greetings from Porto.

Great Michigan band back in the day. At one concert (Atlanta?) Led Zeppelin's manager (Peter Grant) got pissed off because the crowd didn't want GF to leave the stage and Zeppelin was due on. Ha Ha. They actually out did Zeppelin that day. They were a show and large arena band.
@lyndoncmp5751
@lyndoncmp5751 4 месяца назад
It was a three act bill. Lee Michaels was the other act. There was a time curfew and Zeppelin wouldn't get fully paid if they didnt play their complete set. GFR went over their alloted time by. Grant told them to cut it. They ignored him and carried on so he took matters into his own hands and pulled the plug. Thats the reality of the matter.

I wouldnt pay a dime to see the shit acts in concerts today. Floosy crap.Soaking teens with worthless fluff. I Laugh. @@lyndoncmp5751

Thanks for this video. Mark Farner - lead guitar, lead vocal, and primary songwriter. If you want to hear him being much more melodic, tray "I'm Your Captain - Closer to Home", my favorite of their songs. The first album I ever bought, in my earl teens, was "Grand Funk Live." I saw Mark about ten years ago, and he still had it. By the way, you should look into their history and see hoe his bandmates messed him over. Sad.

Led Zeppelin hired GFR to be their opening band on their first U.S. tour. On just their second concert at Olympia Stadium in Detroit (basically GFRs hometown) Led Zeppelin had them unplugged and kicked off the stage because they were stealing the show! 😂

Myth. They were only ever booked to play with Zeppelin for a couple of shows in that area. They were never booked for the whole tour. It was a three act bill. Lee Michaels was the other act. There was a time curfew and Zeppelin wouldn't get fully paid if they didnt play their complete set. GFR went over their alloted time. Grant told them to cut it. They ignored him and carried on so he took matters into his own hands and pulled the plug. Thats the reality of the matter.
