Taking on consideration your grandparents, you can have max 4 nationalities, I think you are exagerating to look interesting, people is very strange now a days.

I don’t mean this badly, but you’re none of those nationalities. You’re (I’m guessing) an American. I’m born in the Netherlands but my mom is (fully) Korean and my dad is Belgian. I can’t honestly say I’m Korean because I’m not. I speak Korean reasonably and like Korean food, but when I go to Korea.. I can feel I’m not the same as them. I’m Dutch because that’s the culture I grew up in. Besides, the US is the only place I know where it’s acceptable to say you’re Korean just because a small percentage of your heritage is from there. In every other country in the world that is seen as ridiculous.
Yep, I d even bet she barely speaks any of those languages she listed. And never visited. All of them are like this. It s ridiculous to think somebody could say they are x nationality name and then not speak the language when you talk to them.
It's her ethnic background but not her nationality. I'm Canadian but my ethnic background is Russian, Ukrainian, Irish etc etc. However I am Canadian. I agree it shouldn't always be......African-American or Chinese-Canadian. So silly. 🙄
You’re genetic make-up is 50% korean. That’s not nothing 👀 I get the sentiment that you don’t FEEL like other koreans (especially from Korea) You grew up with the Dutch culture and that shapes you. But to brush it off like you’re not korean at all, seems weird to me. But I see a lot of Belgian people say this 😅 but the thing is, you do inherit so much of your being from your ancesters (your character, they way you look, move/talk, talents,..) you’re just unaware of it. If their souls could hear you say you’re only Dutch, they’d probably feel sad, lol. You’re connected in a way that may be invisible, but it’s there. Don’t deny that part of yourself. Maar ik ken heel veel mensen die zoals jou denken en eerlijk gezegd vind ik het best jammer!
🤦♀️ Have you ever considered that her grandparents are from the Soviet Union? I'm German/Kazhak/Russian/Ukrianian, just from being born in Kazakhstan. There has been alot of ethnic cleansing and relocating ethnic groups under Stalin, that's how my German ancestors ended up in Kazakhstan, were my parents grew up with Koreans, Turks, Russians, Ukranians, Kazhaks, Usbekis, etc. This is not comparable to "My great great great grandparents visit Italy once so I'm totally Italian" kind of bs
@@Moonlight_Shad0w let me understand, you have a set of grandparents formed by a person din Germany + a person from Kazakhstan and the other set Ukraine + Russia? Is this what you are trying to say? Or you are talking about generations back?
I used coleslaw mix and for the flour I mix all purpose flour with rice flour for crunch. Also used garlic and salt to taste. Indonesian called it bakwan goreng.
don’t they call it balla balla? i learned this from my indonisan friend and till now i make this recipe almost every week ! i keep calling it balla balla tho haha
@sonyavincent7450 ---Donna didn't ask "What IS a heritage?" 🤦 She made an exclamatory statement!! Meaning "Wow, what a heritage this woman has!" And indeed, I agree ...just fascinating ☺️👌✨️
Those are nationalites. How can you be parts of nationalities? And if you could what possible influence would it have on your cooking ability? You sound so silly 😢
I like how you said you proud to share recipe in his honor I do same thing for my grandmother every time i carry on her traditions its really only i can keep her close to me
I'm Polish (dad) and Irish, Swedish (mom). But adopted as an infant. They married 7 yrs later. I'm so curious about their customs and kitchen dishes. 😊
Oh that could be such a cool year trying various dishes. Are you able to find cousins or other relatives through DNA to get copies of family recipes? Until then Butter Made bakery in Ohio has some wonderful kolache and other European pastries you can order. A friend got a few photos of their great grandma's fav recipes printed on tea towels.
This is such an American thing. Most people only refer to their nationality or immediate ethnicity. My BIL has grandparents from Iran and Italy, but he and my nieces/nephews are born in the UK. They just call themselves British.
And I honestly don't see how this is a thing to be mocked about? AND perhaps it is an American thing because Americas are continents that ae melting pot of global culture
No offense but what does listing off your ethnicity have to do with this? Is it supposed to make the food taste better? Many people come from diverse backgrounds. I just would have appreciated the ingredients.
I love veggie pancakes I used to make one with chick pea flour when I was vegan instead of an omelette in the morning. Inspired by my one Korean friend, because I love Korean food so much! I even learned how to make her kimchi when she got homesick.
You’re American… I have not idea why you Americans pretend your from Europe. By that logic I’m from UK but I’m actually a Viking….. it’s my family origin but…. I’m not! I’m British!
A Korean/ Russian/ Chinese/ Romanian and Polish mixed. What a blend! Interesting! However you look like an Asian particularly a Korean to me not a Caucasian lady❤❤
We are from the eastern part of India .. from a place called Odisha and we have this exact dish in our odia cuisine which we call vegetable pakoda .. 😊
Those look so good 😊 I am scottish, irish and english on one side, and romanian /Italian on my other. My dad is from romania and his mum was Italian and those are the strongest genes and influences, it appears. My partner is mexican and so our kids will have a whole lotta culture indeed 😂
@@MummaMia5 --Someone else other than this channel creator it seems, typed out the recipe, and it appears at the top of the comments. It might be their own variation, but looks just the same. One could vary the vegetables, but the pancake batter is really very basic. Soy sauce for dipping.
That’s cool. I’m Italian, Spanish, French, Persian, Greek, Portuguese, Mongolian, and last but not Least African. We done with the pretentiousness here or what?
I still don't get the American thing of saying you're so much nationalities... You're not, you are American, you have genes, ancestors, culture and heritage but you are not directly from those countries. As a french coming from two french parents who came from Portuguese or Italians I do not call myself Portuguese or Italian. I'm French with spicy genes and a great Italian name that's it... If someone could explain the concept to me ?
The pancake looks yummi :) but pls someone tell me why is it that americans always emphasize they roots even if its 1percent of their heritage? We are all mixed...

Nice. But you must now start to write the exact quantities of the products you use in your recipes, otherwise they will be undoable. Because cooking is a serious and well organized process.
I am Cherokee, Irish, Dutch, Scottish, French, Italian, and German just on my moms side. 😂. My Dad's side I'm Irish, Scottish, Norwegian, German, and Black Foot(Native American).
I'm Norwegian and of romanian heritage. I'm so using my heritage to make awesome food. My husband is begging me to stop making good food or he'll get fat. Yet he goes for seconds every time. And, also important, my mother-in-law is the best mother one can have, so I can only feed good food to her son.😊❤
@@RaymondNokmmhmm I understand, I've been fat my whole life and it's mainly my dad's romanian / italian culture and genetics. We are thick with slow metabolisms, and love food and it's so delicious 🤣🤷♀️ and the only time I managed to lose weight, it was so hard and I worked out like a maniac... and then visited dad's fam in Romania for the first time and they basically spent the whole trip trying to force me to eat because I was "too thin" 😭😭😭 so I left Romania with all the weight back on that I just managed to lose .... but I couldn't say no to his MOTHER. Who is the Italian in the family. One simply does not say no to Nonna when she's decided you need to eat. 🤌😂
Guys, you are mainly what your mom and dad are. The DNA is talking about hundreds of years back... you are a pure combination between your parents. If your mom is British and your dad is Polish you are half Polish and half British.
This is one of the best, easiest and quickest things I ever tried in my life. The Korean pancakes is literally a superior and every person should try it at least once in their lives. I like to make it extra crunchy and dip it with some Soy Sauce or Sweet Chili Sauce and it makes the experience 10x better!
Man I miss my grandmother and her care packages she'd undoubtedly would spend hours and even days making a months supply of her pancakes ( extra spicy) , an xl pickle jar of kimchi, fried anchovies, mondu, bulgogi, fermented red pepper paste, oat meal raisin and chocolate chip cookies and a massive container of beef jerky. Everything made by her. I remember when I asked her to teach me how to make kimchi and she said no that's for women lol but the next day she agreed. Man it's definitely better to have loved felt loved and lost than to never have had such great people in one's life by chance or choice.
