Jerry Garcia is one of the very few people that almost always puts a smile on my face and can get me dancing without me having to put an effort into it.

Grateful Dawg is what brought Billy Strings to the Grateful Dead.

It's what brought me to the Grateful Dead. Then I heard Workingman's Dead and I was hooked.

These are/were real musicians. They actually devoted themselves to their craft and don't/didn't give a rat's ass about their fashion or public image or even how many records they sold.

Exactly right...the craft of it is what got me into it in the first place...the parties were great, but I long for those moments when I was diggin' on the musicianship....Jerry was never better in that era, it seems after his "coma", he really shined.

in the early 80's i lived in mill valley.... as an active happy coke shooting drug addict :). the legend of these two's consumption was huge :) , at grisman's downtown apartment, it was a story we all heard...... at the time i was just jealous..... i was lucky to buy a 1/0th of a gram ch white or a gram o coke...... these two never had that problem of running out of stash at 3 am :). legendary dudes in so many ways.........

I played this to a group of my buddies who normally listen to god awful, unoriginal, made-to-sell rap/hip-hop and they went crazy over it! How could you not? I hear those same people tell me about a Future or Kanye song, but when I ask them what they enjoy in the song and they cannot elaborate beyond saying something ignorant for the most part. There's no way their nonsense can match the splendid riffs of these two legends. one of the things I most love about the Dead and the whole jam band scene is the passion. I don't hear passion in most music today, it's sort of empty. Songs engineered to sell are plaguing us. Why would I ever want to listen to a beat that some engineer stole or reused, altered, and then added a some words from Drake and some other "up and coming star" to make a song? Anyway, back to my main point; this song draws the ears of all within earshot

Future and Kanye have both made great musical contributions. I wouldn't be so dismissive. That's comes from someone who is disgusted by real life Kanye, and not a huge trap fan beyond Future and a few others. I think it's counter to Jam culture to reject a style that isn't for them .

@@hiddeninsorrow i agree with what youre saying. i also add that if youre in the right environment like a large group of people all listening and singing to a kanye song or any rap song, the passion reveals itself.
