Probably getting ahead of myself since I don't know if this will be releasable any time soon, but just to prove that the Vulkan version of this game is coming along nicely, here's a full speedrun of Junk Inc with no deaths and minimum (as far as I know!) flips.
Timing is from gaining control (0:04) to final results screen (5:23).
I played this with a controller. The controller support is only partial, hence the mouse pointer on the main menu.
The only graphical enhancement over the original 2010 release so far is a small flashlight effect coming from GravBot's face. It definitely needs tuning, mostly I put it in as a proof of concept, since you can only see it on the battery models so far.
Known improvements:
1) In "Beware of Zappers", if you're fast enough getting the block into position you can skip the cycle. It's VERY tight, though, and relies on some pretty precise positioning. I may upload a clip of this later.
2) In "Spike Traps", I land on an extra ledge just for safety. It's possible to jump all the way down but the precision is pretty demanding.
3) Several times when boxes got stuck on corners. Because of the way the physics work, speedier pushes are more at risk. I may see what I can do to adjust this since it's not exactly engaging gameplay.
I recorded this at 800x600 resolution, which in retrospect was a mistake because RU-vid's cutoff for 60fps is 720p. The game runs at 60fps, I swear!
