I'm 71, been exercising since a child. Last physical check up was in 1970. Went back once, got sick from the doctors office never went back. I still cycle, rowing and easy lite weights. Half my family trained hard in youth now have joint etc problems. I never push to the limit. Ben and Joe Weider changed the world of weight lifting with the free weights system last century. I grew up close to them, bought my first exercising equipment from them and my father went to school with their trainer somewhere in the 1920-30's, Jimmy Caruso. I'm in good health physically, eat organic, work as a carpenter no problems so far. Exercise 6 days a week easy. Bike and rowing with lite weights. I eat lots of food but stay slim, sorta

I’m 66 years old and had been running and cycling since my teens. Over the years have cut back on intense exercise. For the last 10 years, I jog only 3 times a week, covering 5 kilometres per session; and walk 3 times a week, covering about 3 kilometres per session. Rest on Saturday. About a year ago, I switched to a full plant-based diet. Cut down on beverages - only one cup of plain tea a day. Water for the rest of the day. I actually run faster now - just under 30 minutes for 5 km - and I don’t gasp for breath. The plant-based diet has done wonders. Ask my wife. Wink-wink 😊 BTW, my heart rate is about 50 to 55 bpm. Just sharing. Hope to hear from others in my age group. Thanks in advance.

I am 68 years old. I walk for 30 minutes everday dayand I do all the housekeeping at home. 30 minutes walking per day is sufficient exercise. More than that is not good.

It doesn’t matter what type of workout you’re doing if you’re just inside a closed room with air conditioning, masks on, on electronic machines. You need fresh air, sunlight, nature when you’re working out

Let me conclude this for everyone. Go slow , listen to your body, don't over train , don't compare your workout with others, take adequate rest, have a good 6 - 7 hours of sleep, have balanced diet , live a stress free life Take care 🙏

I am 25 and I believe yoga is much more suitable for me. I have seen people from my age group with ligament tear, knee joint issues and slip disc because of overdoing exercise. I myself sometimes use to do HIIT, power yoga, which makes you exercise too fast. But simple yoga is much much better, I got my flexibility back to do all asanas slowly.

It’s sad that Mr. Puneeth Rajkumar passed away. Kannada industry has lost a valuable gem . He was too young to die. Unfortunately, this is second death due to cardiac arrest in Kannada industry. Last year another actor Mr. Sarja also died due to heart attack after he had finished his workout. Both these actors were heavily into body building and intense work out.

2 years back, this "personal trainer" pushed me to do so many squats that I was bedridden for a month. When I visited the doctor, she told me I was just 5 squats away from not being able to walk again ever. My legs swole to triple their size and I was in excruciating pain for another month. Even today if I work out I can feel the same pain creeping in and have to rest for a couple of days. Never trust a personal trainer without formal education.

Being a certified fitness trainer I would say workout & NUTRITION go hand in hand our sister here was quick to point out the ill effects of over training but never said anything about nutrition one has to be high on vitamin C because workout intense or moderate does hamper immunity....Plus there's something called as BMI and waist size one needs to have the right number according to there age which also act as a measure scale & puts a border between training & over training

I've been training for 14 years, I feel great. I DON'T do HIIT or eat unhealthy. After you train you need 48hrs to rest for your body to recover. Atheletes are on a different level than the general public. 1hr 30mins max training 3-5times a week. Fitness influences send the wrong message because they want clout, rather than being truthful. Science isn't always right though

The percentage of people who can actually strain their body enough to cause said damage is extremely low. Only elite level athletes can go to such levels. Not people who workout regularly just to stay fit.

Yeah, this was not well researched at all. The people that workout to that extent are the ones that take all the artificial supplements and they are very less percentage. To those doubting, do not let this video discourage you from working out. Push yourselves as much as possible otherwise there won't be any changes physically. Just don't overdo it until you stress out mentally and physically

I have seen some doing intense workouts ending up with bypass heart surgery. It is always healthier to go for morning walk without too much of stress on your body. This will work very well. Exercises should also be enjoyable too

Even yoga requires an experienced guru . Not internet or videos. A physical guru who has enough experience. Yoga has side effects. Improper pranayama can precipitate abnormal heart rhythm and anxiety. Each asana has to be balanced by a proper balancing asana.

My exercise list includes 2-3 minutes pranayam and kapal bhati 3-5 times surya namaskar 2-3 mins of normal stretching exercise Body is in average shape but this much exercise is more than sufficient for me to stay active throughout the day 👍💪

But if you think gym supplements like preworkout, etc doesnt help you in your progress, then youre wrong. Pre workouts actually help in working out for longer hours. Weighloss supplements like l carnitine or nitric oxide increaser l arginine or proteins like eaa etc are actually helpful.

3:33 If you’re continuously going over your maximum heart rate, then that’s not your maximum heart rate. Maximum means you can’t or it's difficult to exceed that limit.

I actually realized the same thing about 4 months ago and cut down my exercise regimen to moderate from intense even though I don't do HIIT other than that I tried HIIT 2 - 3 times about one & half years ago to find it not suitable for me. I preferred Yoga, Walking, Cycling etc to remain fit. Thanks for this, WION.

That's why I run 5 days in a week and exercise on alternate day, and sleep 8 hours daily . If you do regular exercise or running you will ruin your body very badly because you don't spend that much money on diet and massage like ronaldo and lebron james do.

@@rajut7496 is it necessary to put philosophy lines in scientific proven things, when you run or workout, many muscles die and new muscles born if you don't give rest to your body to recover , your new muscles will die and in that process you will harm your body. And it's long term seen effect you won't see it tomorrow or next week but you will will see it after 2-3 months when you notice pain in your muscle and joints .

I also think there is much too much pressure on athletes to give more than 100%. 100% should be enough, after all 100% is exactly what it means.. Every time an athlete breaks their personal best..... then they were not at 100% to begin with:)

I agree, Im a professional athlete, we have to do intense training and workout. As long as you know your limits nothing happens, too much of anything can be harmful. Balancing is the key. She’s an amazing journalist , amazing content.
