WeAreTheRest2050 It’s alright It’s mostly a tourist town. I had to move because I couldn’t find work their after I grew up lol 😂. I love the mountains their and they have a hot springs their and a few lakes and swimming ponds and rivers from when I lived their but things changed a lot since then. It’s mostly a dry climate because it’s in a desert they have some nice green areas in town. But when you travel a little ways out of the small town it’s more desert 🌵 and the desert has sage and such. That place is known for aliens being their. They have mountain lions that come around every now and then and then they have to tranquilize them back to where they came from. I loved riding my bike on the back old roads when I was growing up their or the late walks at night every night on school nights with my late mom and brother to. We’d get caught in the pitch dark with no flash lights at times back in the desert road and it was preaty scarry at times at night but we always made it home we were so scared of the mountain lions bothering us at the most. But I had fun times their and not so fun at times anyways I just loved the weather their because I wouldn’t be sweating to much like I do here in Nebraska muggy weather here and yeah you should check it out it’s preaty nice their as for the weather and swimming places and the hot ditch to relax sore muscles their to. Oh I forget to mention if you take a drive a little ways past manor market in Bishop California and on you’re way to mammoth mountain if you go that way theirs a very beautiful lake before you reach mammoth i think it’s called crystal lake. You should also have a look at it it’s so beautiful 😍 okay that it for now by.

@@SCOTTONTAPE My Pleasure... HPHS is one of the oldest high schools in Los Angeles I believe this is why they choose the location for it's authenticity. While you are there ask to also see the indoor pool (across the hall from the gym). you will feel like you fell back in time... Best..

M. David Dellinger Jr. I should have when I was in Delaware in May! I know they filmed at the St Andrew’s school, do you know if it looks the same still? And I know the cave they filmed the outside of is now closed to the public I think, and the interior of the cave was a set. I would love to film at that school as that movie was such a big part of my childhood . Thanks for watching !

Not sure of it looks the same or not..I know someone who said it does and they have a section inside dedicated to the movie...There's also the Everett theater which is still there and a road up in New Castle they filmed at as well..Next time your out here let me know we can check it out together...

So the bleachers are gone!?

Yes, the bleachers are gone, the lunch area where "Sandy" sang summer love is gone. In fact the entire school is entirely gone except 2 or 3 buildings. I will likely return for my high school 50th reunion there this year and it will be quite a shock even though I have seen videos. It will be beautiful but no-longer my school. All of West L.A. has changed. My favorite park is spotted with bright blue tents for the homeless. It is still home for many but not the place where I grew up, not the place where we could walk to school or play outside until dark. And Venice High School is not brown, it is the school colors, white and blue and modern.

Richard Gaunt hi there Richard . Thank you so much for watching and it’s always cool to meet a fellow grease fan . The first time I went to Venice High School the janitor took me inside and showed me around but in this video I filmed it on the weekend and the grounds were empty so I just wandered around. My advice when it comes to schools is go on the weekend because they are closed and you can usually just roam about without causing disturbances for students . If u want to go inside a place I recommend calling first or if u drop by on a weekend , knock at the door and see if someone is working and they may be kind enough to show u around . If u go next month in November and u decide to visit the school or another one from a movie during the week, remember to get permission to be on the grounds and also the sun goes down around 6 so u won’t have a lot of light . Weekends are best . Any other locations you are looking for let me know and I can probably tell u where they are . Also I’m back in LA in late November to start filming again so u never know u may bump into me haha. Have a great time !

Thanks for the detailed reply and the advice, When i visit in mid / late November i was just hoping to do similar to yourself and seeing with my own eyes where summer nights was filmed :-) Im also going to visit where the carnival scene took place (from google maps i don't need to be on the school grounds to get a pic on the playing field) so that would be good enough for me.. I also love the fact you are a big MJ fan and this is a big part of my holiday - visiting Forest Lawn etc, I am a big MJ fan also :-) Other film locations i hope to visit are - Karate Kid apartment block, Nightmare on Elm Street house, ET house, Back to the Future locations etc. I bet you can tell i like my old school movies lol. Anyway thanks for making great you tube video's and if i seeing in passing in LA i will say hello :-)
