Quick update ride on the BMW R18 as we ride from Kanab to Page along 89A, a fantastic road that goes up through the forest roads then drops down across the valley. We're 6 days into a 12 day trip, in and out of Vegas on rental bikes.
Great ride and fantastic scenery. When I got married back in 1987 the wedding ring cost me £100 and we paid another £200 of the rest of the wedding and still together and growing older together:) Don't waste money on an expensive wedding, spend the money instead on a motorbike:)
America truly is beautiful. I remember when I was sixteen (I'm now in my forties) and visited the Grand Canyon with my parents. It was the first time I felt truly small, and I also came away with a fear of heights I never had before.
Really enjoyed that, I can see you are adjusting your style, short shifting and riding the torque. The speed is deceptive because it’s so effortless and it only gets out of shape when you rag it, but it’s not that sort of bike. The R18 is more vibey/visceral by design, the Uber smooth straight 6 missile is the K1600 if you prefer that. Horses for courses.
Not ridden the R18 but if it’s anything like my Harley Road King then it’s quite rewarding hustling a big heavy bus around the twisties. I’ve taken mine over the single tracks of Mull - totally unsuitable but good fun 😅
Fantastic riding Brother's. Simply can not beat the open road and the scenery. You can smell all the different fragrances from the flora and fauna this time of year in southern Nevada. Ride Safe. 🙏
Nathan on chrome & polished black riding tarmac seems somehow so irritating like it wood be to see Miley Cyrus driving a dump truck or Dua Lipa working with a chainsaw...😂😉 Thanks for great infotainement, man🤘
Thanks for taking the time to film these -- great advertising. Silk/Merino wool glove liners will improve the gardening glove's warmth. EDZ are a good UK make but at around 15 quid likely cost more than the gardening gloves!
I've ridden the western US many times (I'm from Florida) and just getting there is miles and miles of ..........miles and miles... From the souther US to the rockies is flat flat flat.. then BOOM! mountains!! I rode a Pan/ST1300 and it was just about the perfect bike for mild twisties (or more!) and munching miles on the two lane blacktop. Great range and comfort.. All day at 80 mph then hit the 10 mph hairpin turns... Heaven.. Great review btw...Cheers..🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦
Great looking road. Once you get used to the fact that the corners aren't going to suddenly tighten up, like they can in the UK, it makes for a very enjoyable ride. The scenery helps too. Love the cheap mount plus spring clamp btw. Who needs expensive brackets when you know how to do biking on a budget !
If I'm not mistaken🤔, counter-steering (done sub-consciously) moves your c of g and causes the bike to tip in to the corner. I may have made that up. Trip looks awesome!
Good vids. Keep an eye out for cfmoto mt 450. Lots of vids on utube. It coming here soon and I know you like smaller capacity bike. My view the best of the bunch!!
Glad everything going well! Those road surfaces look sketchy but at least not potholes like back home? Hope it warms up for you all. Really enjoy the range of topics you talk about.
You need to sort out the camera angle for future vids. All anyone can see is the slugs dash. Enjoying the channel though and your honest, sincere opinions.
Nathan, just watching your series on the tour which is great many thanks for a great down to earth channel. I subscribe to a YT channel,Destert Drifter. This chap's interest is archeology and cliff dwellings in the Grand Canyon and other similar terrain in Arizona, very interesting indeed and quite an eye opener as to how people lived a thousand years ago in these places. Here's a link to his latest latest video, hope people find it as interesting as I do :- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s8fgS2mGg-Q.htmlsi=rVWuzDg8fSC6pbwI
That view going towards the Grand Canyon ? ( just before you meet up with the other guys ) Looks like a view in the Victorian High Country Australia on the Snowy Mountain Highway.
I'm learning to double counter steer, pushing the inside bar and pulling the outer bar at the same time. I'm starting to get it to hustle, but last minute breaking is terrifying
