Hercules is Zeus’s Son, so if she wanted to go for Zeus it’s pretty close. But Haden’s with horns...... I don’t think I’ve ever seen an interpretation like that,

It's literally the only detail that could've saved this drawing without having her redo the whole drawing, he didn't say that it would make it Hades (he recognized Hercules so I'd think he knows a but more than the others about mythology) but that's the literal only thing that could save her from starting again from 0

@@ana-maria8350 we're talking about an average canvas and the judges of a tattoo reality tv show. No one cares about mythological accuracy. That's called artistic general interpretation, for them Hades = God of hell so horns, Poseidon = God of water so blue hair, Zeus = God of lightening so blonde hair or clouds. What they care about is that during that moment (the judges reaction) they'd be like "oh this person was told to draw a mythological God, and he gave him horns, so that's probably Hades" that's it

Clearly, none of them studied Greek mythology. Hades does not have horns, the Pegasus was created by Poseidon, none of the gods had blue hair but if they did, that would be more fitting with Poseidon. The easiest way to identify a bad-ass like Hades would be to have Cerberus beside him.

The river and water and see deities also have horns, depending on the version. Ovidius describes them as men with a beard and horns, but some don't give them horns.

Zagreus was also portrayed as having horns, although he isn't in the pantheon that we usually think of woth Greece (he was in a role similar to Dionysus and was worshipped at an earlier time in Greek history, we don't know why he faded into obscurity but Dionysus picked up alot of his attributes)

They are indeed really amazing artists but sorry to say, none of them interpreting the right Zeus and Hades. And for the 12 Olympian Gods sake, - Zeus doesn't have horns. - Pegasus is the son of Poseidon. (Based on story of Poseidon & Medusa) - Hades rarely using his crown but Helmet of Darkness. I saw someone trying to interpret Hades by drawing his Pitchfork but man, the face he draw was more likely Zeus or Hercules. :( For the artists tattoos : 10/10 For the interpretation of Zeus & Hades : 4/10

Hades is THE GOD of hell and dead, he is not Satan,Lucifer or a demon, he is a god and greek mytology is not the same as christian religion. To me it was always sort of weird how little focus they did during this season on Juan Salgado, Josh Payne had more camera time than Dave (obvious joke) and the competition always seemed biased toward Josh (not discrediting anything, he is an awesome artist) but to me Juan should have taken it home. Also. I hope to someday make enough money to get inked by Daniel Silva and Deanna Smith. Both incredible artists.

okay so none of them studied Greek Mythology. Hades does not have horns, they do not have blue hair. They have natural colored hair, like browns, blondes, etc. Poseidon’s animal is a Pegasus, because he created them.

Everyones being so nit picky, but the thing is that they are interpretations and that Disney did the same thing in hercules. Actually many Greek artist did make Hades hace horns (More so after acient Greece but you know.) I liked the blue hair and the red eyes, think it would have been better if it were black and maybe the highlight blue, but hey, either way its sweet. The only one that I think doesnt fit here is the Zeus and Pegasus.

There is little to no representation of Hades from ancient Greece/Rome because since he was the god of the Underworld they didn't want to make something that was associated with death. According the greek mythology Zeus and his brothers, Poseidon and Hades, were represented by artists in the same way - old looking man (with long beards) and muscular bodies; their only differences were their attributes - Zeus had the lightning bolts, Poseidon the trident and Hades had Cerberus. Hades was never portrayed with horns; the only mythical creature with horns was Pan.

.... yes, LATER artists depicted Hades with horns.... after the advent of Christianity! Then, slowly, just about every death god from pagan and polytheistic religions became associated with Satan. Why? To force other cultures to accept the One God set up of Christianity. So, Hades was portrayed as having horns and characterized as evil.... But he wasn't. He was the Lord of All Under the Earth; not just the dead, but everything. Riches of every nature, tunnels and secrets. That's why people are pissed that every artist who did a tattoo of Hades put goddamn horns on him; it isn't respectful to the original culture, and it automatically makes it not Hades anymore!!!!

The Underworld, according to greek mythology, is were all souls go when they die, except for the souls of the heros - bc of their status they get to stay in a different place. Meanwhile Hell is for sinners etc. I also didn't study portraits of Hades within chritianity because it just didn't matter lmao what bugs me the most is the fact that Hades is seen as a bad guy (as if he were the same as Satan) when he's nothing like that

Where is zues or hades?? All I saw was Poseidon with one Hercules with horns. Not one of the gods have horns or blue hair. The Pegasus were created by Poseidon not Hades nor Zues. Same as the Trident is know as Posedions Trident not Zues or Hades. Also if any god was going to have blue hair, it make more sense for Poseidon to have blue hair than Zues or Hades.

Not to be that guy but HADES. DOES. NOT. HAVE. HORNS. Ever. That’s never been a thing. The only Greek gods that have horns are Pan (who is a satyr) and one of the Titans. They’re conflating Hades with the Christian devil. Which is a little annoying.

Why Hades with horns? Only greek god with horns I know is Pan and older depiction of Dionysus in mycean era, but Hades never ever have horns. Ancienr greek vision of Underworld is not same as christian Hell and Hades was not evil, he was not devil figure or something.

I'm Greek and this is kinda offensive to be honest, this is our culture and it's misrepresented, constantly misrepresented actually, our mythology and history is not a costume to be treamed and stiched however someone sees fit, this happens all the time, people toying with our culture to make a profit and having no respect, that shit is getting tiring

My problem with this is that they made Hades an almost demonic figure. Hades may be the king of the underworld but he was probably one of the nicer gods compared to his brothers. But everyone shoes Hades as the devil and Zeus as the god but its really the other way around. But great artists, just not really great with their research.

Add horns to hades to sell the underworld thing...yeah ok... you know hades is not the devil right? And the greek underworld is not hell as seen in the Judeo Christian teachings. By adding horns to hades you have instead either created the god pan or simply a woodland spirit classically called a satyr. And for the other artist as others have pointed out that was a statue of heracles not zeus which is obviously a critical mistake in this challenge.
