I'm greek. That's how we make it. Bravo. What I noticed is that probably the olive oil wasn't that green and densed cause it's probably from a food company and not directly from a producer. I was also born in Kalamata!! ❤❤❤

LOVE greek salad just like this, I live off of this all summer every summer. It IS the best summer salad. Btw delicious with some french fries dipped in garlicky tziki sauce. 😊

Hot tip...soak the onions in red wine vinegar while you're prepping the rest of the veggies. Takes the bite out. Your salad looks great!!

I tried making a Greek salad with some Greek seasoning I purchased from Amazon. That seasoning was awful. I will just try this recipe again with oregano from the supermarket.

I also add raisins I don't use oil but a non oily Greek salad dressing

We make the same here, in tunisia, but for the dressing it is lemon + olive oil + black pepper and salt, and instead of the oregano, it is dried mint. You can add chunks of canned tuna (optional of course). Trust me, if you try it once you'll be addicted! Peace 💚👋

Pickle the red onions, then put them on top of the Feta. Dried Oregano should go into the vinegar. I'd think the Oregano on top of the cheese with Olive oil, would taste bitter. If you're really being Greek, the Feta would be in a separate plate if it's a solid piece like that. But, to each his own, and I'm not the Greek salad police. It's more important to share the salad with those you love.
