TheDonHD Capers defense thrived on getting turnovers, but as a result of always trying to go for the big play they gave up a lot as well. As soon as those veterans like Collins and Woodson and Shields all left they lost the turnovers but kept the big plays against.

The key to that defense was it’s shut down secondary. Tramon Williams, Sam Shields, Charles Woodson, Nick Collins, and Al Harris all made that secondary great. But once Harris retired and Collins got hurt, everything was down hill from there. And it doesn’t help that Dom Caper’s scheme was 20 years old. Don’t believe me? Go watch the 1996 NFC Championship game. The Packers beat Dom Caper’s Panthers and while watching the game, you can tell Caper’s style is eerily similar to the defense he used with the Packers.

They had so much talent on defense but didn’t capitalize.

Its cause of the loss of Nick Collins early in the year to a career ending injury and the letting go of Cullen Jenkins in free agency. Those 2 losses really tore the defense apart.

Those three Jordy Nelson catches are as pretty as any he ever made.

Yeah. Mike Mcarthy made a huge mistake the last couple of weeks. GB had had Week 15 off and week 16 they played Matt Flynn instead of Rodgers. This means GB had 3 weeks off. They were rusty going into that Divisional Round. And the giants managed to stumble bumble their way past. Don’t believe me about GB’s coaching mistake? Then ask John Elway and the 96 Broncos what happened to them. Mike Shenahan did the same thing. It comes down to GB was the better team, but due to a coaching mistake, that cost them a place in history.

Giants stumble bumble...the Giants beat the shit out of the Packers...37-20. Despite the Packers getting all the calls from the referees. The Giants then validated that victory by winning their next two playoff games...one of which was the Super Bowl.

Minh Nguyen simple. The Giants outplayed them. Packers went 15-1 that season their only loss being Kansas City. Everyone counted out the Giants when they made the trip to Lambeau. So the Giants had the mindset to dominate on defense. And that's what they did.
