Thank you so much for your Bee Better versions of previous products. Your videos are great showing all the details in weighing, etc. Your videos have gotten more refined over time - you are doing great job!
I am certainly going to make this for my teenage granddaughters, they will love it. Oh and for myself also. Thanks heaps for your knowledge and fabulous personality ❤️ 2 days later and I made this, it’s truely beautiful, subbed for Olivem 1000 wax. Grateful
It sounds absolutely divine and I will be making this, and to give as gifts too. Appreciate all the extra info in your videos, I'm always learning so much from you and I love it 🥰🥰
i have been thinking to make my own skincare for years now but too lazy and i didnt find any easy tutorials. i stumbled upon your channel to make foaming powder cleansers and boy did i fall down the rabbit hole of making my own skincare. thank you so much for such awesome content!!! never stop making these videos!!!!!!! ❤❤
You are a GODDESS for the formula and percentages!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love you!!!! I'm going to have this (and the original) as a DIY at my sister's baby shower. Such a great, consumable, product; perfect for favors. 🥰
Wowah I'm really shocked and really had a gained a new knowledge about cleansing balm and another thing is that without immersion blender that was quite new to me I really loved your video ❤️ thank you for teaching us sister ❤️
I really appreciate how well your companion post anticipates the questions I always have (i.e. can I substitute "x"). P.s. I bought your book a while ago and can't wait to try my hand at making my own foundation!
I have all the ingredients except the green clay, so I looked at the post to see what I could substitute it for, and I have the kaolin clay, so I'm going to make both recipes and see which one my skin like better. Thank you!
I tried a very very easy two ingredient cleansing balm after my friend tried it and been loving it lately!! It's just 20% emulsifying wax and 80% mineral oil and it does the job! I have fungal acne so am limited with the type of oils I can use but this is lovely, it does thicken and melts easily like coconut oil consistency. Will try adding some clay next and perhaps wee bit of Cetyl Alcohol for the feel! Thankyou Marie, you inspire me to not only DIY cosmetics for myself but take an interest into learning about ingredients which has saved my skin!!
@cosmic_lotus_eater How do you use the 20 e-wax 80 min oil balm? Do you use it as the only cleasner, ie instead of soap ... or to remove makeup beforehand, etc? I know that min oil is non-comedogenic. However, does it leave an oily or slippery cream feeling on your skin? Would love to know more and why you love it.
@@Skylightatdusk I use it as like Normal cleansing balm to remove makeup n sunscreen and then follow up with a foaming cleanser. It leaves a very slight residue but nothing the face wash can't remove.
@poojaHaHaHa thank you!! I love trying different things to double clense, depending upon Florida's ridiculous-ass humidity and weather. I'm going to try making her style and yours to see how it goes haha❤
Hi there. Just as I am a newbie, wondered whether your recipe omits butters and beeswax for a reason. So many recipes online with those other ingredients. Appreciate your explanation as you are a pro on the subject. Thanks.
I love this formulation it's so simple and soooo effective ❤❤❤ Just one question i live in a very warm climate and the balm is always in liquid state do i add more thickeners to keep it in more solid state? Thank you ❤
Hi miss really exited to watch ur vedios...superb....can you share a lipstick texture like remmel lipstick...i mean thy r light weight...creamy...but no greasy or heavy...or reffer any of ur vedio from which I can make the same texture like remmel
Hi, i want it to be more cream/lotion than a balm, do you think if I skip the clay this Will go fine? I want to use in a Recipe with pump, or should i use glyceril stereate se in the place of cetearyl álcool?
I have not tried making a clensing balm before. I will surely want to try this one. I do not have ewax though. Can I use Glyceril stearate abd PEG 100 instead? If so, what percentage?
You can, but you'll need to use less. Please read this post to learn more: www.humblebeeandme.com/super-simple-moisturizing-lotion-with-glyceryl-stearate-and-peg-100-stearate/. Happy making!
Obv not Marie but I do have some experience formulating…I would replace polysorbate with another solubilizer like cromollient SCE or water soluble Shea.
Well obv I’m asking because i am learning, i was thinking it could be a replacement since Poly 80 can be used as a light surfactant/cleanser so i was thinking that replacing with cocoglucoside it would give it some more cleansing power.
Personally, I liked the original cleansing amount. I've got mostly normal skin, oily on the nose/chin, but none of the dry areas found in typical combination skin. I also don't wear makeup, so I don't feel the need to double cleanse; I want the balm to be cleansing enough to fully clean my skin and reduce sebaceous filaments, not just break up makeup and leave the rest to a foaming cleanser. I can see where someone with dry skin or a double cleanse routine would want something less cleansing.
What if my emulsifying wax NF is already 6-7 years old, and it's smells fine and looks fine, can it be used? Or i must throw it? Is it dangerous to use expired emulsifiers or waxes?
Hey, thank you for this video. After making, when settled my cleansing balm had drops of oil form on top. Any way to fix or just melt down again and cool
Hi did you end up fixing that by remelting? I made it today and had the same problem. I came on here to see if it was just me. I did add a tiny bit of glyceryn though to incorperate my extract so im not sure if thats the problem.
@@dennisroelandts215 I added 2% of glucoside so I thought maybe it was because of that. I did reformulate and brought it down to 1% and the oil did not settle at the sides or top. Maybe cut the amount of glycerine. I think because its an anhydrous product by adding glycerine (water soluble) or coco glucoside (water soluble) that'll happen
I usually use a shampoo bar-if it's good enough for my hair, it's good enough for my makeup brushes :) Search "shampoo bar" at www.humblebeeandme.com/search for some formulas!
I made this and the one that I put in the fridge right away sweats. The other three that Ibwaited before placing in the fridge to solidify does not. When I put the furst ine in the fridge it was at room temperature.
There's no need to add a liquid surfactant to this formulation :) Doing so won't make this cleanser lather up, if that is what you're thinking about. I've written an FAQ on that here: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/can-i-add-a-surfactant-to-this-mostly-fat-based-formulation-or-vice-versa/. Happy making!
It is substitutable, but definitely not with shea butter. Please read the full partner blog post (I always include a list of formulation specific substitution suggestions for every single one of my formulations in the partner blog post) and look up Emulsifying Wax NF in the Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/) to learn more ❤️
Hello! You'll find the answer to your question in the "Substitutions" section of the partner blog post. It's linked in the description box below the video ;) If you're not sure what that means, read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/. Happy making!
The most important issue for me for ALL the ingredients is to use as many ingredients that rate 0 or 1 on the comedogenic scale so I don’t break out in an acne attack. 😢

This formulation is not all natural; emulsifying wax NF isn't natural and neither is fragrance oil. You could modify it to be all natural, but it is not all natural as written :)
"E wax" is a broad category of ingredients, like "sweeteners", while "emulsifying wax NF" is a specific type of emulsifying wax, like "table sugar" is a specific type of sweetener. So, yes :)
At the $3 level, I got a short one-on-one/meet-and-greet with Marie, and I get to participate in monthly Q&A posts. Also I sometimes post on the community page and if Patreon actually notifies her, she'll get back to me, but they often don't tell her. But it's worth it for the others stuff, IMO.
