They should turn The Black Parade into a musical. Like American Idiot, it is also a rock opera, and a pretty good one at that. It could have the patient, mother war, and the love interest that I'm guessing was in I Don't Love You and Emily (which I know wasn't in the album). Gerard could be the patient for a while like how Billie was St. Jimmy.

@froggerhater Alternative rock? Have you listened to the Dookie, Insomniac, and Nimrod albums? They're more punk rock/pop punk than they are alternative rock. Alternative Rock and mostly and only shown in their two latest albums, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown. And come on, look at the chords they use for this song, Jesus of Suburbia which is in American Idiot. Do you listen to the Who?

I have been to over a dozen concerts in different citys with Green Day and I don't think that at one show, he hasn't said this, I always love when it is said though!

@Junkpunker21 blink182 has to be one of the gayest bands ever formed. i honestly dont know why people always associate them with green day. theyre completely different soundwise and everything. Green day writes about things that are relevant to the world. Blink182 writes about beastiality.

@Junkpunker21 ... i know this is late but I never check my youtube account. Green Day was formed in 1990, Blink 182 was formed in 1992.... Green Day was 14 in 1986 O_o... Blink 182 was good when they first came out but the older they cockier they got til they just broke up... I don't understand why they're reuniting when they hate each other :/

@TornScarletAngel So what? It wasn't Tre playing in 89. It wasn't Tre who played first drummer under the name Green day either. They released 1000 Hours as Green day in 89 without Tre but with John Kiffmeyer. If you insist then, SWEET CHILDREN started in 87. Same members. Same music. I don't see your point in showing me the year bands formed or what argument you are trying to win here. In whatever way, Blink came years after.

@TornScarletAngel Nah Blink's members are young but came about what, 5-6 years after Green Day who formed in 1987 or as early as 1986. I respect Blink's old way in the 90s, but seriously - they've sold out so much to the point that their old drummer leaves them - worse, they continued performing under the same name with sodahead.

@TornScarletAngel Green Day did form in 1897. Who said you can't be 14 to form a band? I did and many others did. And surely Blink formed a little earlier than 92, probably 90 or 91. The year a band releases their first album doesn't mean it's the year they formed. Green Day even had one out in 89.

@Junkpunker21 Green Day's first album came out in 1991, GREEN DAY was formed in 1990, in 1897 Billie & mike formed Sweet Children, Tre was not part of the band til 90 that's when they made Green Day. Blink formed earliest 91.
