Did the exact same thing you did. Mower via Amazon. Extra battery. Greenworks has replaced 2 batteries for me in the past two years. Lots of phone time, but once I provided all the s/n & dates of purchase, they were very cooperative. Shipped straight to my house. Local battery specialists could not help me to salvage the old batteries. They chalk it up to just bad batteries & that was that. I do not like being wasteful, but this experience & experiment has been rather wasteful in my opinion. Just wanted to try battery power just to avoid winterizing gas engines. Figured an electric motor is about as maintenance free as one can get. I'd like to embrace Greenworks, because my Black & Decker battery powered tools work well for me. Time & technology will tell.
By fking up that badly, not only are they not doing their shareholders any favours, they’re not doing their industry any favours and they are not doing the environmental movement any favours.
i have had the same problem and had to learn the hard way with these kind of Lithium ion cell batteries. I live in Canada and the climate in winter is easily
Good to know about the temperature range. I live in a region that barely dips below freezing point, and always keep batteries in a climate controlled area.
Nickel Metal Hydride is a little heavier but I have some that sat for 10 years and they charged right up, my Toyota Prius 2013 has over 190,000 mile on it and works perfect even though I live in a small town and probably do 3-5 round trips every day hot summer or cold winter next the Makita drills, lights and many other battery operated tools used the Nickle Metal Hydride batteries and many lasted 5-7 years without failure? Not only that but plenty of Lithium ion batteries catch fire or sometimes can Blow up Sony Lap tops have had more than three recalls because of these same Lithium ion batteries or electronics?
A RU-vidr confirmed that the charger was not detecting the battery because of low voltage. So he opened up the battery and jump started it which fixed the problem 😅
All batteries should have 6000 plus life cycles. Industrial products are a rip off. 5 year warranty batteries are way better. Companies cut corners to get money not making customers happy. Unsatisfied customers r a big no, is what they should all aim for
Mine did that to me. It showed a solid red light.instead of the blinking green light. So i took the battery out of the charger and put it back in it did the same thing except the light was blinking red.So i gently and very slowly put it back in,watching the charger light as I did so. The light started flashing green.
