So many people complaining in the comments... “They sound too much like Zeppelin”, “singers gonna blow his voice”, “they’re a rip off”, etc... Rather than complaining, you should be happy that they’re actually trying to keep Rock & Roll alive. You know the genre you seem to be self proclaimed experts about.
No you idiot ! They ripped off ZEPPELIN and the singer sounds like a screaming chicken. Pathetic mellienals fucking up everything they touch...children
So e c in lower case like your brain and led in cort now over copyrights to stairway no ones perfect so where is your music drop kick give your self a uppercut
definitely louder than usual.. you can see at the beginning of the video, sammy is trying to tell the EQ guy to turn down the bass.. but they started and he like meh fuck it lolll
They must be getting the audio straight from the board. If they're outside they really gotta crank the bass up. I'm sure it sounded allot better in the crowd. Outdoor space is tuff to fill.
Allowed to play one more song; played a ten minute song.😂🎸🎼👏 Greta Van Fleet is a freakin inspiration to young rock and roll bands and a light of hope for rock and roll fans around the world.
Awesome band, all equally great in their own right without a doubt! What's absolutely amazing... Is at the end of their set, when she says there are no computers on this stage & no backing tracks, nothing but instruments! Now that's "REAL" Rock and Roll in its purest form live! Way to go Sam! Loving that bass volume big time! #TRUTH
Take a minute and listen to some of the bands that played live in the 60s or 70s . Most of your people are looking for studio perfection live music. Its not going to happen, led Zeppelin them selves played songs different every single time. So ask yourself do you have perfect energy every day. Does your hair look perfect every single day. This band is amazing, but don't forget that they are human, Every instrument will be played different at times and usually the voice is the first thing people notice. I love the pure sound of Greta van fleet, if your looking for voice correction go watch a Justin Bieber video..
Yes. One of the best things about these guys is the raw realness of the performance. It's in the moment and organic and unlike many live shows today, involves human beings making music without the help of computers and correction technology. Their energy and emotion is right out there on the front lines. I'll take that any day of the week over the alternative options.
Rockstar Punk, you make some excellent points. They sound a great deal tighter than many of the bands from the 60's and 70's live. I am concerned about Josh's vocals over the long run and I do believe their sound man or woman could help him out with a bit more sustain at the end of some of his vocal runs. Circa. Led Zeppelin, "The Song Remains the Same." Albeit, this was just a small show displaying their talents.
“Can you do it?” Yeah. Okay. At least that encore kicked ass. I’m not on board with the “new Zeppelin” thing but, these guys are looking like they’ll outgrow it. They’re already much better musicians than anyone in a long time. That guitar sound mixed with the vocal is extremely tough to find.
Right?!? But as soon as he said what song they were playing, I immediately knew why this video was so long, I don’t think they’ve ever played that song in less than 10 minutes.
The last song was just PERFECT.❤️ Actually all the songs were performed really well👌 Been following them for quite some time. The future seems bright for rock and roll
I don't care if they sound like led zeppelin. I love zepp and this is the closest thing we have to getting new music from them. Plus robert plant already said he loves the band.
To reassure everyone who is concerned for Josh's voice, he is doing everything possible to preserve it and take care of it. If he seems like he's forcing it do remember this was right before he got sick. Plus he had just come from Europe a few days prior to this, which is still a bit chilly this time of year. The sudden weather change probably roughed him up a bit. But never the less, Josh's voice will be good for years to come.
this will be great footage for years to come. Here we have a group of young men given a chance to show their shit and they did a great job. Sammy on the bass sending it on home. Love these guys!
hey man, no one is that original. everyone has their influences. You'll see, in years to come their sound will change many times over, I'm sure of that.
ripped off LZ?? are you just fucking ignorant or stupid. All there songs kick ass and can they help it if his voice sounds like Plants? lol I mean c'mon they sound amazing.
I believe if he truly was trying to copy RP he would let his hair grow like his brothers instead of having a fro. I'm a huge LZ fan wish I could have seen them in concert but watched a lot of there videos. I think styles can be mimicked but it all comes down to personality. Time will tell I think they will be huge. I'm gonna go see them in Boston this summer. House of Blues. (Sorry for being a dick last message, was a crazy Monday)
For everyone hating on the sound in this video....they are in an outdoor venue and there are no walls for the acoustics to bounce off of which makes a big sound difference with electric instruments. This is just an assumption but I also think whoever was mixing this was doing a very horrible job at leveling the instruments. Random sound all over the place.
The sound guy should at least have added some reverb. Its so dry, its painful to listen to. Every mistake is heard clear as day =p And a proper rock band makes a lot of mistakes, as they should!
V. Paul Janbazian the feed straight off the board will always make the bass sound to loud. It’s not the case live though. Bass is Omni-directional so it has to be pushed a lot harder to compensate. That’s the reason it sounds to loud in the dry board mix. It most likely sounded fine in person.
I can't get over these guys. Nor do I want to. I'm pushing 50 years old, but damn if I'm not feeling that eight-grade crush sorta love. THESE DUDES ARE AMAZING>>>>>>>>>>>
I did say as they can only get better, but I haven't seen any thing better than that last tune live in my lifetime. They are already great for their ages there mentally mature😎😎😎😚🎑🌴
The key ingredient in rock and roll. Drums, Guitar, and a vocalist. But not to only have this in your possession to actually know how to use these tools and make that sweat sound. New favorite band right here! Great sounds!!!
Setlist: 1:53 - 5:08 Highway Tune 6:18 - 11:57 Black Smoke Rising 12:26 - 17:31 Safari Song ( Danny's Drum Solo Towards The End ) ENCORE 19:09 - 31:44 Lover Leaver Taker Believer
Last song sounded more authentic. Easy to criticise this band for being derivative but I have to say I enjoyed this. They obviously done their homework and have great influences but they just need to be themselves more, or find themselves. Just slightly too forced at the moment but I think they’ll get there.
Worth checking out. Obvious Zep wanna bees. But there's elements of Zeppelin, Rush, and The Who, . So who could hate that? In a sea of CRap, EDM and country shit, I can think of NO reason to hate on a band who start with musicianship and classic rock sensibilities and goes from there.
Us old dudes also have to realize most of these new listeners never even heard of Led Zepp. so this is new to them. Thats cool I guess. To me its just too much like Zepp and nothing original. I hope they change it up for the next record.
oh wow we get to hear that bass!!!!!!!!young energy turned up to the MAX according to chromecast!Jake's doin' the best!!!of his own completeness!love this soooo much!wish i could go to a houseparty with them!
These earbuds I got must be magical because I can finally hear the bass! I’ve always had trouble hearing the Bass in songs. Now it’s almost more clear than the guitar.
Some people want to try and say that Josh is trying to mimic Robert Plant. How sadly wrong they are. Sure, he may have borrowed a bit from plant, but most of his singing technique is derived from Native American vocalization singing techniques. The Kiszka brothers are of Native American descent, in case you didn't know. What do you think 16:23 is all about ? Why do you think that Josh occasionally wears Native American looking garb while performing live ?? So sad that so many people haven't gotten it yet.
I don't know why people dislike? It's either you hate their copy cat style, you're jealous of his voice, You simply hate rock, or you're a liberal who's angry that there are no females in the band.
If someone already posted a setlist, let me know. Same if I got any of the times wrong. Thanks! 00:00 - 01:51 intro, getting set up 01:52 Highway Tune 06:19 Black Smoke Rising 12:26 Safari 19:06 Lover, Leaver, Taker, Believer (extended - ends at 31:47)
