Disney *NEEDS* to bring back Grievous' Legends backstory, his "official" past is utter horsehit now, and betrays the awesome and tragic character he used to be.
Alex for whatever reason, they wanted him to be a character that wasn't capable of being sympathized with. They wanted him to just be a murderer which isn't even interesting. They also need to make him a bad ass like he was in the original Clone Wars instead of the pussy he was in The Clone Wars
As much as I love TCW (and I mean *LOVE*) I wish we got stuff like this that makes Grievous look like a much better general than depicted. I mean by the end of the show, they depicted Admiral Trench as being better by having more knowledge about clones.
Gettysburg is way north of Washington; the point of Gettysburg wasn't to take Washington but break the spirit if the north. Washington was a fortress and there wasn't an aim to take it at the time.
The question is however, if a Rebellion like we know even would've formed in such a timeline. If we take the Sith out of the equation, the government the CIS would've installed wouldn't even have been so bad I think.
Smasherfan88 well at least in part it would, but the republic was so far past corrupt it wasn't even funny, wouldn't have been surprised if senators got bribes while in the Senate hearing chamber.
Oscar The Supreme that might be too Karbin though. I'm speaking strictly Grievous. However, a glimpse at some schematics for a second or two in a covert Imperial base of his body would be intriguing. That would also continue to further bridge the mediums of tv and comic.
The Separatists were so over-focused on causing terror that they forgot why they were doing it. At any point maybe after the early stages of Dirge's Lance they could have just said to the Republic "This could all be over if you just let us secede." And by then there would probably be a lot of support for it. The Confederate States IRL whom the CIS are designed after had much the same goal in mind the few times they marched into the North-- they just wanted to shock the US into letting them sovereignty. Whereas they both failed because inferior logistical capacity however, the CIS lost because they were just so darn blood thirsty and revenge driven. Seems to me they had it in their hands and just let it slip through.
Both sides were bloodthirsty as hell, seeing as they were led by Sidious. Even if they wanted, they couldn't have just ended the war like that. Neither Dooku nor Sidious would let that happen.
Actually, the CSA lost because they were too timid. The Southern strategy was never to cause chaos nor to shock the US, it was to defend the South long enough to be recognized by a foreign power or exhaust the US. They were well aware that going up North would be a costly decision so that is why they rarely invaded, Gettysburg was actually an accident when the South sought supplies up North and ended up confronting the US. The CSA actually could have won the war early on had they pressed on Washington shortly after Bull Run, at the time it was lightly defended and it was even suggested, but the idea of a defensive war and the belief that other powers might interpret the CSA as a coup or an invader shot down the plan. The CIS here is much different, they are less homogeneous and are an actual confederation with individual members only held by a powerful military, they put quantity and productivity ahead of quality and efficiency, they didn't have much tactics outside of a few leaders and their droids only worked so long as they could produce more. Not to mention they were funded by corrupt politicians and warlords, a corporate confederation might not have been a good idea for a government in a civil war. Of course the droids cause mayhem and nobody is held accountable, but that's based less on morals and more of what kind of war it is. Civil wars are some of the most brutal types of conflicts possible and when both sides needs clones and machines to throw at each other? It's definitely going to be a bloodbath.
NightTroid are you seriously putting a mortal jedi hunting cyborg who is eventually killed because of obi wans defensive fighting style and a thing that can literally only die if thrown into a star/black hole into comparison?
Let me say how much I appreciate all the info you give out and I love the way your videos are done. One thing I'm confused about and maybe you were touching on this at the end, but since Palpatine/Sidious was controlling both sides of the war isn't true there is no way the separatists could ever win? Sidious was just using the war to get his power increased in the senate, as well as approval of the army he needed for his reign, and promising that there would now be "peace". He was never going to let the Separatists win. They were just a pawn in his bid to rule.
Can I just say those Providence-class carriers are sexy as anything? Well, I guess only the Imperial-class Star Destroyers are better-looking. Anyways, how about talking about the Dark Reaper next? It was an ancient Sith superweapon built on the planet Thule (see the reference?) and its core, the Force Harvester, was unearthed by Dooku on Raxus Prime. It caused a few months of serious havoc to the Republic. Please take this suggestion. If not for me... for the Raxus Prime junk droids!
oh... i hated the Protodekas so much, i had to cheat code those levels on my old Gamecube, "1withforce" and "chosenone" unlimited health and missiles, that was the only way i could do it..
Oh how the Hutts have fallen, just looking at Hutt space compared to the political map at the time of the Empire Star Wars Reading Club, could you do a video on how and why the Hutt Space was decreased to where it is by the original trilogy, and why some planets, such as Tatooine, are (sorta) considered Hutt controlled but are no longer in Hutt space and instead in Imperial Space?
If you mean by countries individual planetary governments? Yes there were ones that were not part of the Republic or Separatist. Some would eventually ally with either side or join them altogether or just stay neutral.
Could you do a video(s) on the final Clone Wars campaigns that were conducted by Darth Vader, what were the remaining separatist forces like, and what became of the various neutral and/or independent systems after the rise of the empire (e.g. Toydaria, Chiss Ascendancy, Hutt Space, Corperate Sector Authority, etc) and why some remained independent, like the Hutts, the CSA, and the Chiss?
I like that they gave a nod to the 2003 micro-series, naming the operation 'Durge's Lance' when he led the Lancer Combat droids on speeder bikes during the battle of Muunilist.
In the 2003 cartoon, the Republic pushing back was part of the plan as per after Grievous dueling practice with Dooku Sidious asked what news was from the front of which the General replied "The stratagem is working perfectly, my lord. The Republic is spread thin across the Outer Rim desperate to contain our new offensive (Operation Durge's Lance)" making him even more of a military genius. Too bad Grievous isn't as much of a genius or threat in the 3D clone wars as he was in the 2D cartoon.
i just wondered something and if someone can answer i know grievous doesnt like to be called a droid but how come says to R2 theres nothing to fear were all droids here
So what was the Seperatist fleet doing above the capital at the start of Episode 3, if they'd been driven back to the Outer Rim? Was it some kind of last-ditch sneak attack?
do a video if dooku went Rouge against palpatine after learning all he thought he knew, put his combine wealth with the seps and won... what would the galaxy look like
Lol, that episode with the giant EMP WMD was hilarious. -As if- that was somehow a -bad- weapon to use... it's machines. Droids aren't people... why did they all act so concerned?
He didn't need to, the republic was overwhelmed and was way too spread out under jedi command. Grievous simply sneaked on a decent spot and smashed with force through. It didn't help that at Foerest an entire bulwark fleet broke out and caused at another spot way too close to coruscant forcing the republic too take victory class star destroyer 6 months earlier to service to stop the bleeding there
Link me a video if you already done this. But do you think palpatine gave anakin his visions of padme dying? Because if he had not seen them, it would be very unlikely that he would've destroyed the jedi order and became a sith as he did.
The pro for disney taking over starwars is new movies and merchandise but shows like rebels its become childish in a way there is violence but non as much as the clone wars and i loved it from a kid to now. Watching fives getting a blasted to the chest by his brother was so sad but the emotions from that "violent" scene was way too good
Something that had always bugged me when watching clone wars. How did the CIS not know of the hyperspace routes into the core worlds? Seriously, went these worlds part of the republic, and playing nice-nice, just until Geonosis? Didn't anyone think of copying a few maps or two, maybe some other important bits of intel? The Banking Clan and Trade Federation HAD to know these routes, as they have members going around the galaxy on business. Didn't one smuggler defect with a star chart? Didn't Hando have a couple? I'd be as if the Jedi forgot what lane to take to go from the temple to the Senate. Call a cab, robe boy.
im simply fashinated by how two sith lords sidious and tyranus were able to orchestrate entire calactic scale war over 3 years so they can get more influence in galaxy.
how come the clone wars only took two years of fighting when it feels like 10years of combat. with both sides advancing with military tech would take time to research and build, troop production, logistics , and the fighting it self it's kinda hard to believe it took two years.
It is a galactic war many battles on multiple fronts and the battle lines were only easy at war end before that sep world's were at the outer rim, mid rim and even the core.
What if Grievous had plans to kill both Count Dooku and Palpatine. playing dumb to fulfil his plans. Not that it world work but it be cool to see it play out. Yes or No????
