I can only imagine. This is my favourite song of all time. The first time I heard it I was holed up coming down off acid in a hotel room in Goa watching Runway TV and this was played for a fashion show. True story. I spent the next few weeks frantically trying to find out wtf that song was!!
Man... the energy at these performances... that's why I would give anything to go to a Grimes concert. And as for people talking about her singing being poor quaity and saying she's a musician but not a real singer, don't forget she's doing lots of things at the same time, including dancing, which makes also singing well very difficult.
@@eveningcommenter6312 Depends. She actually sings in a few different voices. I imagine it's becaus her music is experimental and she has different styles so she also does dieffernt types of singing. In some of her music she has this beautiful, angelic voice, than sometimes she does this high pitched, cute, juvenial type of voice, sometimes she almost sounds like a Bratz doll, than sometimes she has this funky voice where you can hear lisp... Grimes herself doesn't think much of herself as a vocalist. She would prefer someone else do the singing for her. That's why, for example, she tried to get Rihanna to sing 'Go' for her. She says she does the signing herself becaus it's too impropable to find a singer who would sing full time for her.
@@eveningcommenter6312 Cool. Who are the other two, if I may ask? For me, I have to say, number one! I discovered her music almost a decade ago and fell in love with her and her music and have been obsessed since.
@@eveningcommenter6312 I have other singers that I also really love and think they're very talented! And yet, somehow, it seems to me, that they evolove, yet basically stay pretty much with the same style, that they have they're own unique style of music, yet it's not quite experimental and inovative in the same way, that they put on really good performances but it's not like... out of this world or something like that. So somehow, Grimes always seems to like she's in her own class, above others...
@@eveningcommenter6312 Nice. U2 are definitly huge and one of the best bands that were but The weekend?! The weekend are cool but not top class like the legend bands and musicians.
*kinda* she’s using a sampler with preloaded samples and then adding keyboard riffs here and there. Not diminishing her talent at all, grimes is amazing and she produces 90% of all her music. It’s definitely takes multi tasking skills to do what she does. But she’s not necessarily playing multiple instruments.
Dumb I almost died on ecstasy also almost went blind just saying it's not for everyone don't scream it out kids will think they will have same reaction they certainly may not
This is one of those songs that you can sing loudly and nobody will understand something about it, also the beat it's outstanding that's what I like most about this song.
I remember an old US radio station show on RU-vid where she has long dark hair sitting on the floor with her gadgets barely saying a thing, really nerdy but the striking thing was how much talent was coming from such a young girl. The fact that she must have had a deep understanding for electronic music way way beyond her years. I'm sure she was around 16 at the time. Comparable to Lorde at that time, so young and talented.
When Grimes preforms in concerts, it's always with Hanna as a back up singer and these two dancers who also appeard in her video 'Belly of the beat' and their soooo cool, the four of them!
For some reason this gave me goosebumps.. the way I feel listening to music by myself, dancing and singing enjoying my existence. This is what this song feels like
@@elleashee i think there was a misconception about it at one point but no i'm pretty sure she's never publicly said she's nb or uses they/them pronouns
Rain at Glastonbury..Then this magical track starts,so jealous of people seeing and hearing this 😍Love her use of backwords masking, just so makes it on another level 🙂
Ugh this show was so LIT I wish I'd been there. I'd love to see a tour where she performs a mix of her songs from her whole discography--Genesis, Delete Forever, Flesh without Blood, Entropy, Venus Fly, My Name Is Dark, omg I'd die
Legendary track! Couldn't believe what I heard from such a young genius when this originally came out. Thought it sounded like 1974 Kraftwerk with girls voices! Genius!
Everyone is saying the lyrics are “My heart I never feel” but I always knew them as “My heart I never be” like she is singing here. Biggest mystery ever haha. I guess having different interpretations of her lyrics is actually a pretty cool concept
