nice... some glen sykes from regurgitate and jo bench from bolt thrower could be included......regardless of what people think bolt thrower was definitely a grindcore band for a good few early albums.

The thing with punk bass players is that nobody cares about their playing, but they always tend to have the best stage moves/presence of anyone, even in Grindcore and other non-punk genres. Also, Carlson’s tone is probably the goofiest thing I’ve ever heard.

I like grind because of low tuning and for using bass in similar way of a ryhthm guitar and don't like it for un-innovative(!) vocals in many bands.

How are they using a 4 string? Are they just using the lower strings of a 5 string?

Yes often. In B E A D or A E A D (like Rotten Sound for example). Cheaper solution than a 5 strings bass, and it's easier to be fast with a strong attack.
