Here is how you can easily make a lot of XP in Naval Action in a short period of time . Fairly relaxed battle against NPC with no special mods on the ship so anyone can replicate . Other battles like this i've gotten up to 4400xp
That was just awesome control of your ship. Slow motion ballet. I particularly liked the gutsy just-missed-ramming T crossing and especially the delicate backing and filling of the foresails with the aft sails neutralized to maintain perfect position at the end. I still get confused and flustered too often to attempt this yet. You make it look so easy!
When he is demasted or in irons, you approach slow, with 3-4 knots, to be positioned perfectly on his side. And hit boarding key with good timing. Just brace and keep shooting balls until his side armour and structure is gone. You can disengage or beat him by boarding when his armour is done. This way it will give maximum xp, more than 4000.

I will try to do a video with a Trincomalee when i have a bit of time but it will be probably more difficult for new players since one mistake would mean instant death while this Wasa can take a few hits and survive
