I am always surprised at how panicked people become, when confronted with one and that aren't accustomed to bears. Bears demand a healthy amount of respect, but as a born and raised Alaskan and outdoorsmen I find them to be more of a nuisance. We once had to kill 3 bears in one fire season because they kept coming in and raiding our food stache. They are more interested in a cheap and easy meal 9 times out of ten. That tenth time is why they deserve a modicum of respect. Most bears are cowards

I love watching the strategy behind your guys off season work, and the work that goes into it! I currently get a few outings on public land for deer season, would love land to work and put the time in

Although it is possible that the grizzly had not seen a human before..but even the most remote areas of Alaska a bear that is say 5 years or more old travels a lot and most likely imho has encountered hunters at some point. That being said, I do really think Josh puts out a lot of great videos and is a monster freak in his own right.
