Putting a hook up or mounting a bin on your garage wall to either hang or store your reusable bags might help be a visual reminder for right before you leave when you pack the car!
I always used to forget to take my bags back out to the car after I'd put away my groceries. Now, I stack them on the counter RIGHT by my front door and I make it a habit to grab them the next time I go out the door. Even if I'm just taking out the trash or checking the mail it whatever, I take 'em out with me and put them back in the car. You could hang them right on your front door knob too. It's a good system!
Love the healthy co parenting relationship you and Stephen have created. It’s truly beautiful! Watching your videos brings me joy! So excited for 12 days of Vlogmas✨✨
it’s so freakin cute how grace reacts to you talking to her. like she’ll be laying down totally calm and she’ll smile and kick when you talk to her 🥺 so precious
I hope this helps clarify the reindeer :) Santa's reindeer were first named in "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (better known by its first line, "Twas the Night Before Christmas") in 1823. In the original printing, the final two reindeers' names are Dunder and Blixem, which are Dutch for "thunder and lightning." In an 1844 printing by Clement Clarke Moore, who is credited as being the author, these names are changed to Donder and Blitzen.> The 1949 song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" calls them Donner and Blitzen, which are German for "thunder and lightning." This is how they're most widely known today.
for the donder thing: "The commonly cited names of the nine reindeer are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph, although Donner is sometimes called Donder and Blitzen is sometimes called Blixem." Source: Wikipedia so take that as you will
The seasons all tend to fall on a solstice/equinox, so usually between the 19-22 of certain Months Fall starts sept. 22 Winter dec. 21 Spring March 20 Summer June 21
Girl your positive energy helps me stay sane, so so sooo grateful I found your channel a few years ago, happy thanksgiving to you and your precious fam!
In Australia the seasons all start on the first! I always thought it was strange it doesn’t start till the solstice in other countries. Apparently we use the meteorological definition of seasons not the astronomical.
I ❤ that idea! It's way better than here in the US constantly checking the calendar to constantly remind myself WHEN in the month a season actually "starts"!
I actually prefer when my favorite creators do 12 days of vlogmas because I unfortunately can’t watch all of the videos every single day just because the holidays are so busy!
I never realized that people shop by putting the groceries directly in the Stoller. I’ve always been afraid to do that bc the store would likely think that I was stealing.
As someone who works retail, I just assume if its going to the stroller its be stolen. Cause most of the time they are stealing and using their kids to get away with it. At least with clothes
I need that striped jumper from the second half of the vlog in my life. Its all my favourite colours in one jumper. Can't wait to see that video of Stephen choosing your outfits even more now.
I just randomly watched a vlog from years ago where you and Kenzie went to the movies pretending to be pregnant and it's so amazing and fulfilling watching you now being super moms to 3 wonderful children ❤️😍
As someone with two kids and TEN TONS OF LAUNDRY, we have five laundry baskets, three full size and two small. We do laundry and sort it (large - me, my husband, and linens etc, and small for each kid) and then EVENTUALLY we put it away. We do laundry about 3x a week, and put it away...every two weeks? Roughly? But it's easier cuz we can dig through our individual baskets if we're looking for something. My kids are 2 & 5, and both enjoy sorting laundry. It's a good tiny-kid chore.
I watch these videos while pumping in the middle of the night. Every time Grace makes a sound , I always think it’s my baby making those sounds and panic-reach for the monitor 😂
I always say Donder! But you can say it either way. In the original ‘‘twas the night before Christmas” it is Donder. Either way it’s supposed to translate to thunder and lightning
I find myself forgetting my reusable bags a lot too. I started leaving a set in the car, which also helps if I make unplanned trips to the grocery store.
12 days for vlogmas is perfect. So many people do vlogmas, and as a viewer I'm much more likely to watch them if there isn't one every day. Daily vlogs is just overwhelming since there ends up being so many videos in my subscription feed.
When I think about last year around Christmas time I think about being so happy. Spending time with family, feeling festive, and most importantly, watching your vlogmas videos. Such good memories!!!
Looking forward to 12 days of vlogmas! Thought I'd pass along a tradition we did with our kids. We collected holiday theme books for a few years, wrapped them up and opened one a night for Dec. Before we had enough books, I'd borrow some from the library. We ended with a silver wrapped book which was Twas the Night before Christmas, and a gold wrapped book which was a special Xmas book (but for the life of me I can't remember what it was! My kids are 18 and 21, so it's been awhile...) The kids loved it cause they got to unwrap something every day, and it was perfect for some cuddles during storytime before bed.
Love the vlog! ☺️ I was curious about the spelling of the reindeers in the book, so I tried to find out why it had a different name. I thought it was a misprint (which would explain why it was in the discount bin haha), but it seems that Donner’s name used to be Dunder and Blitzen used to be Blixem. I never would’ve guessed! Anyway, stay safe and I’m excited for the 12 days of Christmas.
It could be Donner from the the german names of the reindeers it translates to thunder and is spoken like Sierra did just with a fast -nn- like in Kenny 😊🎄🌎
I've always been very anxious about having a baby because I felt it would be so hard to be a mom and work, however you and Stephen give me so much hope that is possible to do so! Thank you very for that and I'm very excited about modified vlogmas! Looking forward to every single video!
These are my favourite videos to watch 💕 my daughter is 16 days younger than Grace! When I was pregnant Gracie was our top name 😂 seeing Grace in short sleeves and shorts are crazy to me, I live in Canada and it’s starting to snow here lol I miss dressing my daughter in those cute things 🥲
Winter has always started on the day of the Winter Solstice (shortest day of the year) which is usually Dec 22! Just like summer starts at the Summer Solstice (longest day of the year) on June 21/22! In the northern hemisphere at least ☺️
Consider putting your bags back in the car after you grocery shop then they are ready for the next time and you cannot forget them because they are already there and ready
It’s actually Donder (Dunder). The original names for Dunder and Blixem were in Dutch but were changed to German, Donner and Blitzen, in later reprints of the original poem. The translate to thunder and lightening. The more you know…..lol.
When the Christian church set up the calendar, they dragged the seasons away from their traditional start times to unsync the calendar from the Pagan ceremonies related to the change of the seasons. If you start winter on November first, Halloween makes sense. If you start spring on Groundhog Day, the 6 more weeks makes sense. And then summer starts May first and fall August first and Midsomer makes sense.
Hi, I am so happy you guys are gonna do some vlogmas, been rewatching the past years lately and got a lil sad bc thought they are not gonna do it this year, so thank you for doing 12 days.. 💜💙
Yep the season start every 3 months. Usually Dec 21st or 22nd is the start of winter my birthday is Dec 20th so my dad made sure I knew all the changing of seasons. So March 21 start of spring. June 21 start of summer then September 21 fall.
In the original print of A Visit From Saint Nicholas (the original title), 2 of the reindeer were named Dunder and Blixem (the Dutch word for Thunder and Lightning). Over the years the names were changed. Blixem was changed to Blitzen to rhyme with Vixen in 1837 and Dunder to Donder to bring the spelling more in line with English pronunciation. It is unknown when the spelling of Donder was actually changed to Donner, but it has been documented in the 1906 New York Times newspaper print of the famous poem. *There's a lot more to this, but this is the condensed version of the name change.*
So clutch, two videos today when I get 30 mins to myself away from my colicky 7 week old 😮💨 also thank god you're going to do vlogmas I need your content for my "me time" ❤️
I just want to say my mom has been reading ‘‘twas the night before Christmas to me and my brothers since my very first Christmas when I was 6 months old this Christmas will be the 43rd year for this Christmas tradition and I hope it becomes a tradition for your family as well we also have a cup of hot chocolate while my mom reads the story
Where does Grace nap when you are at friends/families houses? I have such a hard time getting my little one to nap at other peoples houses so always end up having to take her for a drive
I always thought that a new season started at the beginning of the month, but I learned a couple months ago that it starts somewhere between 21-23 days into the month, due to the different environments. So some states have a longer winter due to the altitudes/elevation levels, such as Colorado and Utah, where as others don’t really have a winter, such as California due to the environment with the oceans and beaches.
Yeah, my birthday is December 18th, and it has always been weird to realize I have a “Fall birthday,” even though it’s exactly a week before Christmas!
Not sure if it helps anyone but we refer to our Alexa as "little miss" that way we don't trigger ours or whoever we're on the phone with devices as well. Also sometimes she is sassy with her responses so we feel it fits. 🤣
Happy Thanksgiving!! Grace is one happy baby. Love it. The food you make always looks sooo good. Quite a while ago you made a kale salad with Parmesan cheese, olive oil and a squeeze of lemon...now that is delicious. Quick and yummy. Dunder and Blitzem...two of the reindeer. It's a German poem. Translated....Thunder and Lightening. Wouldn't really know this but I had an older brother who immersed himself in German all through high school and studied abroad for a year. To make a lo g story short.... it went from Dunder to Donder to Donner. 😊❤
Have also gotten into discussions of Donder v. Donner. As I understand it started as donder (I think in another country, but can't remember and not looking it up at the moment.) But it has very clearly changed to Donner.
