This is insane!! I'm curious to what you are using as an audio interface for vocals/bass guit with minimum latency, and what I should look for to mimic a setup like this? I'm a DJ, and also in a band, and I've been itching to get into this (As well as use live to mix my own songs together beautifully). I'm glad you reaffirmed that bit about plugins outside of ableton. I was clapping as well LOL

Basically any modern (thunderbolt / usb2.0+ / firewire) can have super low latency if you set the sample buffer to pretty small (256 or so) and set the recording to 48khz, you can get it lower at 96khz (since it's sampling faster). My setup is using a umc404hd (very cheap, there are better ones out there), running at 48khz, 256 samples, and it's a stable way to get ~4ms latency on my guitar, and it feels good enough to play live with no real latency. You can hit 2ms if you are running 256 samples @ 96khz, but really I don't find there is much of a "feel" difference there, since you start hitting the speed of sound in the air at that point. Speed of sound is ~3 ft = 2.66 milliseconds. If you're on windows, make sure you're using the ASIO driver for the interface as well, this is MUCH faster than the MME driver.

Sorry, but I've got to be repeating Andy's and my question: what's that midi-pads controller on the bass? it's a neat one - I wish I could find such a small thing for my guitar to have it handy all the time.

Andy, you're right. I've got the same question: what's that midi-pads controller on the bass? it's a neat one - I wish I could find such a small thing for my guitar to have it handy all the time.
