People say Grouper sounds sad. This can definitely be he the case. But I find it detached, and empty. Not in a bad, nihilistic way, but there's so much potential here. It feels like Liz really tapped into the foundations of what it means to be creative. Listening to these foundations, these uncovered remnants of human thought and emotion, it inspires me to tap into similar depths.
i love your way of putting it. i feel like all of Grouper's songs feel like a sort of in-between. they float around the spectrum of comforting and unsettling, melancholic yet heart-warming. Its just otherworldly and undefinable :0 so beautiful :,)
Long haul, as in "haul ass!!"?!? Or haul as in.. "Brandon, despite being a quite prolific sex-offender, just couldnt fit in down at city-haul." Or do you mean it in more of the nominal sense?..An example: "The thing about milking my prostate is, there's only two survivors of whom managed to really manhandle mine the way my brother does, and their names are John Oates and Darryl Haul."
whenever I listen to grouper it always brings out Diffrent emotions, sometimes I find myself crying or releasing a emotion that was suppressed and feel safe to express love this playlist
I've been listening to this mix on and off for about a year now, I just wanted to say that it's gotten me through a lot. I'd dare to say that this is my absolute favorite collection of ambient music ever. I cannot thank you enough for putting this together
A recommendable listen for when one is increasingly becoming detached and estranged from this world and its people, and desires nothing more than isolation, getting inebriated, and writing philosophical poetry. I am you, you are me, I exist, so that I can see you and so that I can see me. for we are not apart, although it may seem, we are in fact all one then two, then one into infinity.
I dunno each listener's mentality and thoughts but thank you guys for listening to such stuff... I'm quite sure it shows you're still alive inside no matter what you think, and looking for some peace, instead of constant conflict like so many ppl... Funny how I ended up finding this mix by looking for a WoW music/ambience, btw.
Thanks for getting me into Grouper, I probably would have never found them if it wasn't for you. I listen to your Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada sleep mixes every night, they really help with everything.
i don't remember how i originally found this video but i did 2 years ago and i listen to grouper so so much because of it, my absolute favorite music to write to from then on

I listen to this to try & fall asleep, but instead I just zone out. I’m not asleep, but I’m not awake if that makes sense, I can still feel & hear everything around me but my eyes are closed. Best feeling ever though
its rare enough to get to the point where you're so high that you forget that anything exists except the music. the few times i've been there its been grouper. if there was only one thing i wish would remain in the void, it'd be grouper. i don't know that i'll ever reach that place again until i die, i hope they'll let me play this in the hospital, or wherever

Don't make patterns in your skin, there's positive solutions that you need to come to that don't involve making patterns in your skin, that hurts, yourself. the solutions to rebalance within, not externally acting to harm yourself.
this is really great, do you think you'd be willing to make a grouper vol. 2 that includes "it feels alright"? that's one of my favorites from her thanks again and hope all is well
@@lonelyhousewife If you want a tip to skip all the ads in one go, skip the video until you arrive at the last 5 to 10 seconds of it. Then let it play by itself until its finished, and once it asks you to tap the screen to restart the video, you wont have any ads on the video anymore I hope this helps
