This is how I approach the many many spaces I have designed. Now I know I have a fractal of me and my way of thinking in Atlanta. My “white gardens” are still loved by their owners out in California. I am now in Savannah. Starting new. I’m glad I saw this video as I am now (‘22) ready to start new in the east. I’m so awed by the natural beauty here. It will be amazing to create here tooo. We have a similar story we bought a 49 year old house we've been remodeling over 17 years and an acre that was over grown. Now we run a airbnb guest suite, and have an acre edible garden, with chickens.

I am passionate about gardening & Growing my own food, even though I’ve had to downsize in the last few years. I am particularly working this year, spring, on making a raised English garden on the west side of my home and also putting in more vegetable pots & smaller raised garden areas on the East side of My property so that I can share with my neighbors who are not able to garden but would benefit from having healthier fruit and vegetables, particular vegetables that I don’t think people tend to eat enough of you in their daily diet. I’m excited about watching your videos and get new ideas from you. Really love this video;thank you so much!!!!!

So true. My neighbor and I cleared an area, overgrown with dogwood bushes, wild ones. Now I have an area adjacent to the "no dig" enclosed growing space. Since a bear visited, I put in a fence so it would not just sneak up on me. Now that area is being developed, just a tad, put in a line of dirt so I can grow a flower area, about a foot and a half in. The back will also be modified, probably with a flowering bush type. Coming forward with be a sitting area and a fire pit. Now I'll have a place to visit with friends. Along the lower part there's a walking path, lined with blueberry and rose bushes to the right and another enclosed veggie growing space. He's absolutely right, to make the outdoor areas a place to "live", breathe in fresh air and be with the wildness. This was a great visionary program. Just imagine and make the outdoors your own.

I get this whole thing! I just spent the entire day planting tulip and allium bulbs for the spring of 2022! I live in Illinois and it was cold and windy, but I still enjoyed every moment. thank you for this video!

It's exactly that, one step at a time! We had a look at photos of our property from when we bought it 6 years ago, only the other evening. We hadn't realised quite how much we've done, because it's always been in small steps.

This shows how the outside of the home is just as important as the inside. I bought my home for its potential for outdoor spaces. I now have several garden rooms to enjoy with family and friends, and as a retreat from work life.

When I bought my first home it was a neglected large property, but I turned it into a park like property full of life for plants, wildlife and humans. When we bought this home the house is larger, the area is less remote, and the property is smaller. 15 years later we’ve been reworking landscaping to incorporate vegetables along with perennial plants. When we’re trying to save money, walking into the yard always gives us something to do that takes up the time putting our energy back into natural surroundings rather than going ‘out’ for entertainment

"Redeeming the Ground" is a matter of opinion. If a property is totally natural and untouched by humans, it is better than anyone coming and thinking that they can do better. Yes, we have to have places to live, but this, to me, is not "redeeming ground". It is disturbing it as little as I possibly have to and then returning much of it back to the natural state that it was in before I disturbed it!!
