I have been gardening for years and I watch lots of gardening, homesteading, and farming channels on RU-vid that I enjoy, but they are usually filled with information I already know. But I always learn something new when watching your videos. Your channel offers a wonderful combination of gardening information, history, beautiful vintage illustrations, and entertainment that I really enjoy. I also love antiques and vintage items and enjoy seeing the many beautiful antique/vintage items you collect and use in decorating your home. As a former owner of an advertising agency, I recognize and appreciate all the hard work and effort you put into producing such aesthetically pleasing videos, thank you.

@@suburbanhomestead what a great video. Your question at the end is a tough one... if only one of these amazing video get recommended by Google, it would probably get you as many new subscribers, as you'd get by having a gardening channel with regular updates. Also, once people discovered one of them, chances are the others will get more and more views, too. If you are happy with where you are, and with what you are doing/producing, then please continue. These high quality videos are a real treat! If you want to grow you channel "organically", I think you should make more videos where it's just you and your garden, or you and whatever interests you. I like that you cook a dish at the end... maybe share some good and bad cooking experiments with us. What I am trying to say is: I watch all your videos, because I like the person in the videos, and I think that's the case for many. p.s. I actually got a bit of anxiety, each time I saw you sitting between the strings. That vase with flowers looked like it would fall, had you made one wrong move. :-)
@suburbanhomestead

@@siamsurf glad you liked it. So far my biggest hurdle is getting a breakthrough video that has a very high click-through rate. That means I need to find a thumbnail and title that attracts a large percentage of people. It’s refreshing to hear you understand what I’m trying to get to with these unconventional gardening video. The internet is full of great and informative normal gardening videos, so I don’t see a point of repeating that over and over again. I’m more interested in taking viewers on a journey of reflection. Also, yes, the whole living room was one move away from disasters while I was filming the string scenes.

These are absolutley fantastic. Not only do you blend history, ethnobiology, and horticulture, but you do so itn such an engaging and logical manner. It flows very very well. Then of course, the graphics are wonderfully done and very entertaining. I loved the cucumber cats. You have a very calming voice that is lovely to listen to and it dosn't feel like I've spent an hour watching this video bc it dosn't drag at all

There's a giant museum here in Pittsburgh devoted to the Heinz brand and Pittsburgh history in general. It was always a go-to for school field trips. Nice to see someone else talking about Heinz lol. And also loving the new video format!

You are one of the most talented and creative people on RU-vid. I for one love the longer format video. And your animation and graphics are next level. Don't let some big media outlet tempt you into a partnership.... you are doing it just fine on your own. keep up the good work and I'll keep watching the commercials." No skipping on the quality productions people "

All I wanted was a solution for my recurrent cucumber failures, preferably tiktok style, no words, just video cuts, straight to the point, done! Instead, I was blessed by this phenomenal and elegant production. I can only imagine the amount of work and research you invested in order to put together such a captivating presentation. Delightful all the way, thank you so much! Dez!!!

And then you're a fantastic gardener, painter and interior decorator too. Truly a polymath. It's such a gentle joy to watch you at work. Please keep it up.

As a gardener, I find your channel a great sauce of understanding as to why I sometimes fail with certain plants and vegetables... cucumber is one of them.. Peruvian hot day weather mixed with night cold sea breeze and salty air does not help. Thank you keep the stories coming...😊

Thanks Summer for taking some time to check this video out. I'm glad to hear you liked it and actually learned something new with it. I'm still trying to find the right format for future videos. Part of me wants to continue these mammoth undertakings, the other part feels like I need to compromise and do something at least once a month that is simpler. And thus I'm conflicted...

Bravo Siloe Bravo!!! Your videos are Simply Amazing. There is always so much beauty, dedication and love put into them. Such a pleasure to watch and truly a gift from you, thank you 🙏 Watching the way you do things is truly inspiring. Please keep up your amazing work! I remember watching videos of when you first moved in, and what a beautiful transformation it has taken! Really inspiring… I was planning not to plant cucumbers this season coming because of their cat-like ways, (I’m more of a dog person, so now I understand why😜) but this year I think I will try them again. Wish me success. Muitas bênçãos e abundância Siloe
