Hahaha Shane you crack me up. After you put that first wire vice in you pointed to it like one of those models on the Price is Right. It just struck me as funny. Your Son's home looks nice Congrats to him on the purchase. My Daughter just closed on a new home today. This is house #5 for them. It's her huge (5000+ sf) dream home. She's just as excited as if it they were buying their first home. We're just happy to shuffle along in our mere 1900 sq ft. Lol We old folks don't need as many bells and whistles. Thx for sharing your video. The vines look like they're off to a good start. Hugs to Y'all

I just subscribed to your channel. I found it when I was researching muscadines. I'm getting ready to order a few vines from Isons. Just a few, starting out slowly and perhaps more in the future. I know it's personal preference but would like your opinion on a few varieties to order. I live in the piedmont of North Carolina. My plan for these grapes will mostly be stuffing my face when I'm outside working in my garden. lol Probably make some jam/jellies as well.

Awesome thanks so much. I definitely would choose Ison because it's a self fertle and it will help cross pollinate the rest. Huge production and taste is awesome. Supreme for sure . Giant grapes best for stuffing faces for sure

We have a good friend that has a 10 acre vineyard. It is absolutely gorgeous in the growing season. He has Spanish Black grapes and white LaBlanc grapes. The production is unreal. We have helped pick and when all said and done with the Spanish Blacks it was something like 48,000 lbs of grapes. I think the LaBanc came in just under that.

What’s your thoughts on raising the vines on a cow panel? We have strong winds and a high water table so I like the strength of the panel vs just the wire strands.

How tall are your T-posts? I looked up the 5" end posts on Tractor Supply. They offer 5/6 and 4/5. Which one is a 5" post? Love this video. I have been stuck on how to do this on my small property. Thank you so much!

Depending on how many you have to water. I would recommend Drip irrigation

are your vines self fertile do they need a male vine if so they need to be with in 39 ft of each other diff rows side by side

I have self fertle and female. Self fertle should be no less than 50 ft. But don't over think it. Go check out my muscadine Playlist I have a ton of videos on muscadines

Could I manage without the 5 inch post and just go with t post if I’m only planting one vine per row? I ordered two Isons and one supreme and my thoughts are to have the supreme between the Isons
@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia
@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia 2 года назад
You could go smaller yes. Just remember when they get full grown they could produce up to 100lbs of grapes per plant
@kennethnewsome5114

Tractor Supply site offering "utility& bracewire" 9GA 170' for 19.99. Is this price possible? Is "utility & bracewire an OK type of wire? It is 9 GA. Yes, I have watched many Ison's videos, and ordered plants from them. I'm planting 3 plants w/ 2 end posts and 2 T-posts. Do I need a wire tightening tool like you have? If so, where would I find one? Also, I planted one muscadine last year, but never supported it. I am hoping to make it the 3rd plant in my row. It is a very strong plant, but has grown tall. Do you think I could bend it, and somehow get a side shoot to go the other way, or should I just cut it the height I want it and hope that 2 side branches develop?
@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia
@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia 2 года назад
Price sounds right and with just 3 plants shouldn't be to much weight on the wire to justify buying anouther tool. Tighten aa tight as you can so they don't sag a few years down the road. That pla t growing straight up I haven't seen it but I would think cut at the height you like and it will shoot more out to trade down the wire. WAIT UNTILL LATE FEBRUARY JUST BEFORE SPRING so you don't harm the plant with any cold weather

@@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia I am so thankful for your replies. This is a major project for me, and you and your videos have been invaluable for setting my mind at ease. Thank you for this reply. Do you recommend the (2-4’) 2 year bare root option from Ison’s? About to get me one or two Ison’s variety ordered

Yes but I would wait until fall when they are dormant. Would make it alot easier to grow. Gonna need to really stay on them in the mid summer heat

My neighbor has volunteered to help me with sinking the posts. He thinks we don't need cement, and might also be able to use 4"x4" square wooden posts. What do you think? (I'll be supporting 3 plants.) Also, what diameter drill bit are you using?
@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia
@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia 2 года назад
I agree 3 plants want weigh much. Not sure diameter maybe 1/4 inch

@@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia Thank you! So no cement and 4"x4" posts?
@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia
@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia 2 года назад
Shouldn't be a problem. Sink end posts deep so that want sag over the years and cause your lines to droop. That's why I use the 5 inch post ,they don't bend
