Myers Mushrooms Farms Hi. 75-80 degrees is enough to sterilize sawdust, you can simply fill in 60-80 sawdust with hot water, and put them in a warmed place and when you finish forming the packages, the first packages will cool down and you can add mycelium, I have never had any harmful spores. tested 5-10 pieces

You should have it on a PID temp controller. You're just blasting heat out through the steam outlet which is being lost. You just only cycle it on as needed to maintain the temp at the top of the chamber.
@LarsLarsen77
@LarsLarsen77 2 года назад
It doesn't matter if you need the humidity. A high pressure mister system would be much more efficient than boiling huge amounts of water.
@MyersMushroomsFarms

Yes we have ours on a digital time temperature PID.
@ClownWhisper

I hate to keep being a wet blanket but having your flow boxes in a humidified area is a very very bad idea they're going to go bad so fast. We had to dramatically dehumidifier one of our labs in Ann Arbor Michigan because it was ruining flow Hood filters
@MyersMushroomsFarms
@MyersMushroomsFarms 5 лет назад
Its not humid in there, the steamers are on PID's the only time it gets humid is unloading then the bags dry quick.
@ClownWhisper
@ClownWhisper 5 лет назад
@@MyersMushroomsFarms I'm glad that it's under control that's a good thing but I don't understand how being in a PID can have anything to do with it??? Pids are basically feedback loops the control temperature or humidity or whatever.I use pids from my days in the robotics industry I have a whole box of them. So I basically know what they do it how they do it. But you are steamers running in a PID would have nothing to do with how humid he gets in the general area of the steamer. Unless you mean not a lot of extra steam escapes because it's just kept in a balanced rate??? even then I don't really understand the statement I'm not trying to be an asshole I just don't understand honestly. I think I'm going to build one of these myself but base it off of temperature it is simple PID with a t type probe.

If you want it to last. Plastics will hold up for a bit but I hear they warp after time. Plus if you go with steel you can eventually modify to push 1-2 psi

Hi please respond do i need float valve or can i just fill with water like pressure cooker I dont have water pressure at my farm yet
@perfectstranger232
@perfectstranger232 3 года назад
Because of the long cooking time you can’t put enough water in. And opening to fill up would open to air and contamination ... self filling means it can safely refill on its own when needed and still remain sealed

Man, I don't get it. I find all these videos about the steamer build, but never heard you talk about the fundamental principle. How's this system different from a pressure cooker. How do the pressure amounts and temperatures compare to each other? Why does this one take a full day for a cycle? I guess this one uses less pressure, but can get up just to the right temperature for sterilization.
@MyersMushroomsFarms
@MyersMushroomsFarms 4 года назад
Sterilization is a time temperature formula for lethality. Lower temps just take longer. This were shooting for 200f for 4-6 hrs while an autoclave is doing 240f for 20 min.

I don't understand the oxidized layer part I'm an organic chemist and stainless steel should entrust in just hot water anyway. I mean I understand oxidation will inhibit rust development but if it's a stainless food-grade type of table it should never rust with just hot water introduction unless you seriously got it red hot at one time
@MyersMushroomsFarms
@MyersMushroomsFarms 5 лет назад
You are a chemist, not a machinist. Look it up, its a thing. I learned it from welding SS and brewing where rust is a big deal on vessels. When welders weld SS they etch it with acid. Passivation of SS look it up

@@MyersMushroomsFarms funny thing I am a machinist the chemistry is just a hobby well Machining is more of a serious hobby and a money-making thing. @@MyersMushroomsFarms will ya I didn't realize you got it red hot like I said in my original post if it was just cut on a bandsaw they probably would not ever rust unless it was heated up a lot. I work with 304 stainless continuously every single day for a little side money so I do have some experience with it. But absolutely you heat it up with a torch or a welder and it's going to rust like hell I didn't realize. Again I'm sorry I'm not trying to be a dick LOL just trying to understand

Dude, you need to stop fucking with the comments on your product list on your kit.co website. One guy commented with the hole punch that it didn’t work-the hard way, and i can’t even make a comment. I don’t know where the fuck you’re from, but i correct my mistakes to 100%. I thought that was the essence of your core principles. Integrity first, Service before self, Excellence in all we do. I guess that shit doesn’t apply since you’re out and not wearing ABUs/stripes anymore on your product list for those that dont want to pay for the over priced bubbas barrels.
