Vietnamese is such a beautiful language and even though I cannot understand it I still watched the whole video and love it because of how amazing the language is😍
kristy the scorpion girl I COMPLETELY AGREE she has a really nice viet voice it’s so calming and smooth I love it. Idk about grammar but it sounded right to me
I only speak English so I'm glad for the subtitles. PLEASE PLEASE do this again!!! This was so beautiful I love the Vietnamese language and it would be so cool if you start to understand even more and start to speak completely fluently. I bet your mom is so happy and proud! I am too! So please do this again I really loved it! 💕💕💕💕💕💕
@@Kata_Rin oh my gosh don't say you suck! :D everyone has to start from somewhere. In fact I'm learning Korean and I am no where near good but at least I'm trying so please stay positive! I bet you do just fine and you can always improve! I hope you have a good day! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕😄😄😄😄😄😄
Your Vietnamese is so good. I'm impressed! You sounds like a native speaker with a cute accent 😍😍 I hope you're going to make more videos in Vietnamese and also include Vietsub in your English videos ❤
Ok I FULLY and wholeheartedly support youtubers filming videos in their languages if they speak another language other than english! It's so interesting to hear and I somehow feel like the space is even more diverse hearing other languages. I don't speak vietnamese, so I'm really grateful for the english subtitles, but I would watch from beginning til' the end even if there weren't any. Btw, this is my first time hearing vietnamese and I have to say it sounds so beautiful! Love from an arabic, french, swedish and english speaker ❤️
Vietnamese is such a beautiful language I really want to learn it someday ♡ I'm German so I think doing the pronunciation right is gonna be really hard for me but I'll try my best to not sound weird or somehow disrespectful when I speak Vietnamese! 🌼
Aww that is so sweet. And don't worry, Vietnamese really really like foreigners who try to speak our language, we find it adorable, no matter your pronunciation or grammar 💖
I have take look at German Alpha Word and I think it's a little bit like Vietnamese accents. You can looking for it in internet but if you want to study I think it's pretty difficult!!! But good luck!
You can trans by Google if you don’t understand and I’m Vietnamese . You want to learn this language or has question about Viet Nam , you can send email for me : kimloc178@gmail . I will reply if i know
Omg chi, your Vietnamese is amazing compared to a lot of us American/Canadian/Australian born Vietnamese. This video made me lol-ed so much. Totally impressed by your Vietnamese and your vocabulary. You're probably a lot better than 98% of Viet kids born outside Viet Nam. And you have such a supportive loving mom so thats a bonus.
It made me a little bit sad, I just realized that when I was younger, I refused to speak my mother language because I was ashamed of who I was and now, when I see the rest of my family, I can barely communicate with them. This video made me realise how important it is to be able to speak your mother tongue. Btw that was a great video ! ( I'm not Vietnamese )
I feel the same way but with Cantonese. I went to two classes at Chinese school and I was like "why should I learn this if I live in a country where we mainly speak English?" I honestly regret that so much.
I'm determined to pick up Cantonese again and build upon the knowledge my mother gave me when I was little. I regret not learning more, but she stopped speaking to me in Cantonese because she didn't want me to be set apart because almost nobody else around us spoke Cantonese, so I only spoke it with my family, and even then, in limited quantities. There's still hope for us, though!
No one should be ashamed of their native language! All cultures are beautiful. I guess you’ve already realized that. Tbh I love speaking Spanish as my native language and I’d like to learn even more than English
Omg! Love that you’re finally doing a Vietnamese tutorial! My grandma loves watching you!! And she is really bad at English so she will Love this video!! You make me so happy❤️❤️❤️😘😘 I have notifications on and it’s midnight in Norway!!
I’m Vietnamese and I think your Vietnamese is great Tina!!! It’s so adorable at the same time. Don’t be embarrassed! P.S. you should tag other Vietnamese RU-vidrs to do this!
It makes me happy that more and more beauty blogger that not living in Vietnam and trying so hard to put your video together in Vietnamese. Meanwhile, lots of Viet bloggers are using English more in Viet. I think you are super adorable and pretty!
I really loved this! You should definitely practice more often so that you can get better I have always wanted you to do a Draw My Life ♡ please let it happen!
Dark circles = Quầng thâm mắt Blend = Tán Contour = Đánh khối Setting powder = phấn phủ Pat = đánh nhẹ, vỗ nhẹ, tán nhẹ, táp lên (i don’t know) Shape = hình dáng, hình dạng I hope to help you a little something❤️love you!!
I can understand why your mom was so excited and congratulating you for doing a video in Vietnamese. It's a way of showing support and appreciation for the Vietnamese culture and language, especially since it is the one that your mother speaks and is probably near and dear to her heart. It's a way to feel close. I found that part of the video really cute and heartwarming My mom had a similar reaction when I started Chinese classes at college. She's Chinese, I'm half, and it helps her feel a bit closer to family roots. A shared common language is more valuable than people often realize, especially between generations.
I can speak Vietnamese fluently, and your Vietnamese is AWESOME!❤️ Please do more videos of you speaking in Vietnamese in the future! Please! It makes me smile so much! In a good way! Promise!❤️
YOUR VIETNAMESE IS SO GOOD! I have grown up only speaking Vietnamese to family as well but mine isn't nearly as good as yours! I'm so glad u uploaded this video !
As someone who doesn't speak Vietnamese, you sound adorable 😊, i think you did pretty well, and it was still funny when you were lost on not knowing that words you were looking for. I wouldn't even mind I you spoke in Vietnamese more, I'd still watch it. ❤
I am a Chinese who is studying Japanese now. And I love languages. Vietnamese is also one of the languages I wanna learn. So it is soooo cool to hear you speak Vietnamese. Please do it again. You will improve as you do more of it and we can also see another side of you!
Thank you so much for doing this Tina! There aren’t many Vietnamese influencers that I see in the beauty community so the fact that you are representing our culture makes me so proud! It also gives me someone to look up to because you have always been an inspiration with your amazing attitude! Thanks again Tina for all the hard work you do ❤️ I’m a Vietnamese American and I truly appreciate it
Woooaa. In the first time when I saw your video I didn’t think you’re Vietnamese. I thought you are Chinese. I’m so happy now because you’re Vietnamese and you speak your mother language is so good. Love you, so sweet Tina 😘
Wow I never would’ve guessed you were fluent! I thought you were full Chinese because of your last name being Yong, but seriously it’s so cool to watch a Vietnamese-Australian youtuber!
I LOVE that you did this! Please do more videos like this! I too am Vietnamese and I too never learned how to read and write in Vietnamese. I was born in the US and when I was about 5, my parents were learning how to speak English. They practiced at home a lot so I’ve been speaking English for as far back as I can remember! And now at age 30, my fiancé and I have been taking Vietnamese lessons. Watching your video really helped me to remember a lot of words!!! I would love to see more of these videos! I’ve been a long time fan of yours -I had no idea you were Vietnamese! Also, your Vietnamese is MUCH MUCH better than mine. Don’t be so hard on yourself! :) you did great! Thank you!
Nay mình mới đc RU-vid recommend cái vd này, hj. Thật sáng suốt vì Tina đã có vd tiếng Việt, ko bỏ phí 1 “thị trường” subs Người Việt khổng lồ. Love xx
chị nói tiếng việt rõ lắm ạ ❤️ đây một số từ nếu chị chưa biết chị có thể tham khảo: drake circle = cuồng thâm mắt eye liner = kẻ mắt natural lash = mi tự nhiên contour = tạo khối blend = tán ( chị nói đúng rồi :> ) beauty blender = mút setting powder = phấn phủ pat = dặm phấn eyebrows = "chân mày "cũng đúng nhưng thường thì mọi người hay nói là " kẻ lông mày " korean = hàn quốc browcara = chuốt lông mày glitters = kim tuyến hoặc nhũ connect = nối lash line = viền mí cotton tip = tăm bông câu cuối chị có nói là " tina đánh xong makeup rồi " chị có thể nói lại là " tina đã hoàn thành xong makeup rồi ❤️" em hy vọng những từ trên sẽ giúp được chị 😘 love you 💋
this may sound ridiculous but this makes me so emotional 😭 I used to speak vietnamese with my parents but we switched to german when I grew older because they wanted to improve their german skills. I was always so embarrassed to speak vietnamese when talking to relatives because I knew it was so bad. I don‘t speak it AT ALL now. Listening to you, even if I don‘t understand a single word, feels so...right? Like coming home? Like having a sister who talks to me without judging me? Thank you ❤️
Beautiful finished look! I may not speak Vietnamese, but it's very relaxing and nice to watch and have the subtitles to read! If you post more like this I will continue to watch!
An authentic Vietnamese here, let me give you a simple guide (btw your Vietnamese is amazing ^^): .tán (blend) .thoa or bôi (apply cream product) .phủ (apply powder product) .tô (apply lipstick) .dặm (pat/apply powder in a specific area) .chuốt or chải (to use a spoolie to brush your eyelashes or eyebrows) .kẻ or vẽ (draw eyeliner or eyebrows) .mí mắt (eye lids) .chân mi (lash line) .khóe mắt (inner conner of the eyes) .sống mũi (nose bridge) .gò má (cheekbones) .xương hàm (jawlines) Hope it helps ❤
I also don't have confidence in my Vietnamese because I only speak with my family and now that I live in a different city, I can't practice the language as much. I thought you and your Vietnamese were amazing in this video, especially because you had a southern dialect since both my parents are from Saigon too! Thank you so much for making this video and I hope you upload more like this ❤
As a fellow Vietnamese, I'd have to give you mad props for maintaining that level of fluency in the language despite not being able to use it very often, and more importantly, for even having the courage to do this in the first place! Great work, Tina :)
I'm smiling so much watching this, I'm not Vietnamese. I just understand what it is like to only speak your mother tongue with your family, this was endearing
I really respect and support this video! You're really helping us out there who would love to reconnect with their roots and be proud of being Vietnamese 🇻🇳 and practice both my makeup and Vietnamese!
I just realised that being a RU-vidr and only knowing Vietnamese is hard. You have to constantly refer to yourself in third person, that’s why you keep hearing her say Tina a lot even though in the subs it says ‘I’. In Vietnamese we don’t have a word for ‘i’, especially if you don’t know who you are talking to (your audience) you can’t refer to yourself as ‘em’ (which mean younger sister) or ‘chi’ (which means older sister).
Oh my Lord this IS SO ADORABLE I can't I just can't... How you are trying hard and how your mom is so happy about it, and the fact that you want to improve your Vietnamese .. I swear this is so cute I'm literally crying Q.Q Please make more videos like this in Vietnamese! I can't understand a word but the language sounds beautiful! It sounds so gentle and kind.. Tina you're awesome, thank you!
Wow Tina, your Vietnamese is very good. All the words that you wondered are correct. Powder : phấn phủ Foundation: kem nền Primer: kem lót Pat: dặm Blend: tán Awesome job!!! Just wonder if your mom is from SaiGon city?! Because your accent sounds like people from Saigon 😊
you are good at speaking Vietnamese, keep going.
I just wanted to say great job, I do not speak vietnamese so I'm not speaking on technicality, I'm just saying you are very hard on yourself dont be. You know, and understand more then one language something to be truly proud of. Don't be ashamed, BRAVO for doing it,more you practice easier it will become.Take care , tell mum hi from Arizona 😀👏👏👏👏👏👏😉
It's so heartwarming to hear you speak Vietnamese! It may be difficult for you but it's so great of you to try and speak your parent's language. I wish I knew more of mine. Love you!
Your Vietnamese sounds great! I’m half Vietnamese and American and fluent in both English and Vietnamese. You are doing great at speaking Vietnamese and I was able to heard it well. Don’t worry, you will learn more when you are continually speaking in Vietnamese. I love your videos!!
Tina nói tiếng việt không dở đâu 😕 em thích cái giọng lớ lớ việt kiều của tina lắm nghe rất dễ thương 😍mong tina về việt nam sớm và nhớ vlog lại cho tụi em xem ❤ #tina
I read the notif and couldn't be more excited. I love how your family still speak Vietnamese together and maintain it. I know some Viet parents don't want to teach Vietnamese to their children just because it doesn't need to know this language in Western countries. But there are still a lot of parents teach their children well and send them to Viet school for reading writing after their official school, and i'm so happy to see kids try to learn their mother tongue.
WoW, chị nói Tiếng Việt siêu quá, giọng chị rất hay em thật sự bất ngờ khi mẹ chị là người Việt Nam. UI tự hào quá if you don't understand what i'm saying then: you speak Vietnamese so super, i'm really surprised when your mother and you are Vietnamese. SO PROUD
tina! i used to hear vietnamese all the time when i lived at home, but since moving out, it's been a while. thank you so much, i felt like i was back home again with my mum and sis:)
Omg I love how she uses Tina for everything! I love how she is speaking in third person!!!❤️❤️ Her Vietnamese is not bad at all. I’m viet and to listen to her Vietnamese is so cute!!!
Lots of Viets refer themselves in third person so they don't offend the person they're talking to just in case they don't know if they're older or younger!
Amanda Standley Vietnamese has a lot of words for "I" and "me" but it's up to the person you are talking to. It's quite complicated. So Tina used "Tina" is the best option ^^
Tina! You speak Vietnamese fluently, sound really good. Im so glad to have found your channel and ever since I have been wondering and wanting to ask you but have never dare to ask. Thing is years back I used to work with this lovely girl whose name is also Tina. We work together in KFC Campsie during high school years, but then we lost contacts as we both quit the job, and since I never knew where shes got up to :( Few years later I bumped into a friend who also worked there with us and he let me know that she (Tina) got married. Unfortunately he also lost her contact so I never get the chance to talk to her again. But ever since I found out about your channel, I was like " hang on, can two persons look the same???" I mean you look 99% like the little Tina who I used to work with. I have been wondering if you're 'her'??? ( Sorry if this sounds creepy...)
Proud of you representing your roots... you know how you'll get better? by continuing to rock your native tongue.. love your videos... love your expertise... love your accent... and now... love your perseverance! Keep it up girl!
Tina! I had no idea you were Vietnamese! And you are WAY TOO MODEST about your Vietnamese. I speak Vietnamese with my parents too and you are def fluent--it's the ability to easily carry a conversation!--and super impressed that you knew terms for makeup products in Vietnamese with this being your first makeup tutorial in Vietnamese. I think the context in which we learn and speak Vietnamese as children of Vietnamese parents living in another country shapes what words we learn, so it makes sense you wouldn't know specific words. For me, I remember doing some translation / interpretative work in Vietnamese for my field and I only grew up speaking with my parents so I had to learn all these new sector-specific terms, since I also didn't go to Vietnamese school. In MA in the US, I remember meeting some kids who knew how to read/write bc they went to Sunday school. Lol, I wish there were regular Vietnamese schools that weren't rooted in Vietnamese religious communities. Maybe that's changed now / it's geographic-based.
Omg right! It's so calm and relaxing. They speak so respectfully unlike most of us loud mouth Americans lol. Seriously gives the ASMR or whatever those videos are called a run for their money, much rather listen to this even though I don't understand a word
Love you sooooo😍
Hi Tina! I'm full Chinese, but my mom and aunts were raised in Vietnam so they know Vietnamese. They have been speaking Vietnamese around my siblings and I since childhood, so as a result I can understand most of what they're talking about (but unfortunately I can't speak/read/write Vietnamese). When I saw the notif for this video I was so excited! I just finished watching it and realized that my understanding of Vietnamese isn't as bad as I thought. At some parts, I didn't need the subs! Thank you so much for making this video and I hope you make many more like this one!!
Neither of my parents are from the Guangdong area, but my mom learned Cantonese from her friends and my dad from his cousins, so they spoke it to my siblings and I growing up. I can speak some of it, but I'd say my understanding of it is a lot better LOL
Love your Vietnamese!!! Please keep doing makeup tutorials in Vietnamese I believe your videos will be viral everywhere in Vietnam!! Much love to Tina and cô❤️
Tina! Anh la Mỹ lai ở bên Denver, CO (ba người Việt, má người Mỹ). We always spoke English at home, and I started studying Vietnamese when I was 13 (very off & on since). Lately, I've been studying to sharpen my Vietnamese, even though I also don't get to use it very often in daily life. Most recently, I've been watching Hollywood movies w/ Vietnamese subtitles, but this video of yours was the inverse! (The tutorial was very interesting even though I don't wear makeup!) It was really helpful for me to listen to you speaking while reading the subtitles, I picked up so much! In addition, your accent is *so lovely*. Cheers!
