Can't believe I only just caught this video now. I really like the app actually. I was not expecting to use it at all but actually use it a lot for reminders and fine tuning the time on my watch.... Thanks Rob
When the watch is connected, does the battery not show in the batteries section of the info bar? Like if you swipe to the quick info page to the left of your first home screen there is usually a section that shows the charge of all connected devices.
Hi Rob, just brought one at Colombo international airport (capital or Sri Lanka) for 500 usd! What a steal! Totally not expect to find one at an airport shop, smile ear to ear all the way on the flight!!!! And I adjusted the bracelet by myself after watching your video, thank you so much! Btw the G-Shock connect app sucks on my android phone (sony xz1), it freezes at the moment you launch the app, totally useless, think i am going to switch to iPhone just to enjoy the full function of this watch.
Love the watch. The app is kind of sucky and clunky tho especially for such a big technology company. Plus which the only way to check battery level is through the app when the watch is connected. Annoying. But the watch itself is really nice. Awesome backlight. Thanks for the vid Rob. It really helped when I set up the watch!
I have this watch and like it very much. What is the purpose of the bluetooth for it? Just to adjust time, date? Doesnt it adjust automatically when you go to another country?
Does the app turn bluetooth on and off automatically when needed to sync the time several times daily? Or does bluethooth have to be always on? That would be a no-go.
Beyond the novelty of having your phone connected to your watch, what more does the app provide? Having the watch change local time automatically (gps connection), as you travel, might be cool, but I don't see that here. It's still a manual change, and I could quickly find local time in a google search, and just change it myself manually. Even if it did change it automatically, I'd still like to see a consistent home time, in the corner... dual time. Another cool feature would be to set a reminder on the phone, or even a desktop for that matter, and have it go off on the watch later, when you need it.... just line up your daily appointment reminders ahead of time. True integration/synchro. It might already have all this, and you couldn't get to it all in 6 minutes. If so, disregard what I said. Love the channel. Keep it up ;)
As I learn the app I will attempt a more detailed review of it. There are other options and settings I have discovered already. And I am sure updates will be made over time.
This watch has a 'find your phone' function, you can change alarms on the watch from your phone, you can set a GPS marker with the watch and it registers in the Casio mapping app, and it updates time four times a day from your phone. I also believe that it can sound an alarm/appointment from your phone.
raksh9 I heard the Bluetooth disconnects? Is that true? If so the find your phone wouldn’t be that useful, correct? Also, how do you do the time stamping with the watch?
@@docholliday6054 The watch is NOT a smart watch... it doesn't send you text messages, or show your calendar. It does connect to your phone, via bluetooth, to automatically sync the exact time, four times a day, so that your watch is always accurate. It can also help you find your cell phone, if you misplace it, by pressing a button. Your cell phone will then connect to your watch, and play a sound at full volume, even if you left your phone on mute. Phones app is useful to set alarms, choose which world cities you want displayed on your phone, set countdown timer... it does NOT act as a "Smart Watch"....
Lol.... Why are there people in the comments section asking about receiving notification on the watch? It's a gshock, and they didn't advertise this watch as a smartwatch... If you really wanted a watch which can notify you any text or calls, you should search for "smartwatch"
Hi, i'm trying to figure out what is with the RCVD display. i'm staying in Singapore and there is no Multi-Band 6, therefore i can only sync the time using the phone app. According to the manual, the time will sync every 6 hours at 12:30pm/am and 6:30pm/am if the auto receive is on. i placed the auto receive on, but the RCVD is missing after awhile, and doesn't appear within a day. anything that you may know?
If the rcvd is not visible, means the watch failed to receive any radio signal...I believe Singapore is in an area called the " black hole " for radio signals, most of the country can't receive any....try leaving the watch on your window sill overnight .
Once you are connected all changes are to be done via the app...Once you press a button on the watch it will disconnect automatically. That's how the phone has been programmed.
The G-shock website says the 'find my phone' function works only when the phone is in range, which it states as '2m!' In typical website content mistake-ridden style, this is not clear. It would be great if this means miles, but I suspect it's metres, which means the watch will only find your phone when you practically already know where it is.
@@kyle8575 From the UK Metric Association website: "In Britain some people are confused by the fact that abbreviations, with more than one variant, are accepted for imperial units. For example miles are abbreviated variously as “mls”, “mi” and very confusingly on British motorway signs as “m” where they could also be read as metres." You are correct of course, as it seems I have become used to the confusing British motorways (and the wish for the Find my Phone range to be more than absolutely useless)! ;)
@@mr_watchaddict3146 Wow, interesting to hear that. I'm from the US, so it's very common to us. Thank you for informing me in a polite manner and not being a dickhead like 90% of the youtube comment section. I appreciate it haha.
Do the end link pins feel a little loose to your watch? Just got one and couldn’t help but notice that they would rattle a bit. Idk if I need to tighten them up. 😬
Billy Bob went to local jeweler and had bracelet sized and end links tightened up. He showed me that it’s a pin and collar system with a tiny screw on one end. If you want, you can locktite the screw for additional security. With the slight flexibility of the end link, the jeweler explained why the end link collar system is meant to have a little play.
I have mine in gold and i wonder how long the battery life is on a full charge with no light (charge). out on interest. can't seem to find it anywhere. a day? a week? hmm

this application is using too much smartphone' s battery also when it is not in use and my oneplus 5 get to be frozen without any possibility to solve....I think it consist of a spyware
This watch is over rated and over priced. Geared to market to uninformed consumers. Let's see what the price is this time next year. I'm not impressed with it's bluetooth features. Just a remake of an older model.
