Yep, I like to mix and match my MSR stowaway pots with my Stanley adventure cook sets. They always seem to fit inside one another depending on what you want to cook. Stanley seems to be the best for even heat distribution, but, like you noted here, they’re all so dang heavy and bulky. Thanks for showing us another cook kit option. Always enjoyable, sir.

I am looking forward to seeing what you cook up in your new kit. If you avoid using your canister stove and stay with alcohol burners, Sterno or a bed of coals, you will likely be ok. The bigger pot is a plus for soups and stews with winter coming on. I find a lot of good camp gear at second hand stores: you might find a flat aluminum lid for a quarter that would free up the fry pan to use as a plate or bowl.

I used the frying pan for bacon and the pan folding in half like a taco first use

we have in our teardrop camper the gsi cooking set not the stainless steel ones.. works great.. from a huge pot two cook soups at least a gal fry pans sauce pans great little set... hell ya looks like a great set we have had ours for at least 15 years

0:22 mark ... "Mess with it" , messing with a mess kit , love it. Bear I hope your old timer U.S.Army mess kit does not get jealous. lol Personally I like the M.S.R. Alpine ( 775 liter ) Stowaway series , worked great for solo camping. The handle crossed over the top and locked down so the alcohol stove , utensils and spices were secure inside the pot.

Because the pan is so lightweight it would be good in an emergency pack with a candle stove. Five or six tea light or votive candles will get your water to boil so you can have a hot drink when you electric goes out, you can fry eggs or bacon or bologna. I've been using aluminum takeout containers because they're cheap and disposable but for an actual kit this could come in handy

curious if the bowl fit's or will sit on either pan, i would use a lower flame or drop a heat defuser in the kit,those things are not heavy at all,now lets get to some cooking

I prefer the Stanley cook sets. I have a few of them. My favorite is the base camp, really heavy, but then I car camp. I think this heavier gauge steel makes them better "cookers".

Reminds me a lot of the ozark trails, "scout mess kit". As far as a lid you could always fold up an aluminum pie pan. I have to much camp cookware, that is one of the only ways goodwill gets my money....that and $2 hardcover books. Lol. I think my foldable carbon steel skillet and stanley adventure cup are my favs. Followed by the canteen cup, stove, lid, and trangia combo. TC and ATB, Cris.

It's a shame it's made of such thin stainless. It's too easy to burn food. Thanks for sharing.

Even though the pans are very lightweight this will do fine with smaller fires and the only problem there would be longer cook time probably. Did the cup have measure markings? Like the review as very informative 👍. Thanks for Sharing. Stay Safe.

how come every one do a vid how they look and stuff but not how they cook in it and after cook to see how well it will hold.

You do a lot of cooking with stereo I doubt you have many issues with this cook system 😊👍

Sounds a little flimsy lol. Would rather a pot hanger as opposed to a handle for over camp fire cooking
