GSSR GUIDE: Which Banner is the Best for You? 

NOTE: There are SRs also included on the banners and you're guaranteed to get at least one, but these include general pool servants and the odds of getting a specific one aren't good enough to consider for the most part. That said, the July 2021 banners do have Calamity Jane, Lancer Melt, and Caenis from a relatively small pool of servants. So if you're headhunting any of those three, that's a benefit.

Fun fact about MHX: Because her NP has a *massive* SpecAttack modifier for Saberfaces, she's actually one of the best Morgan killers in the entire game, since Morgan does, in fact, have the Saberface trait

Sorry this took so long, lads. Hurt my back early in the week and I was out of commission for a few days.

I was torn between Gilgamesh and Castoria banners. I chose the former and ended up with my greatest roll in FGO: two new 4*, Liangyu and Young Shuwen; and two new 5*, Okita and Nero Bride. Nero Bride is special in the sense that i always wanted to roll for her but never could 'cause priorities (AKA meta) always came first.

was hoping for Morgan or Crane, but got Kagekiyo (and Summer Tomoe...). Was initially disappointed, but then I realized that Ruler bosses no longer exist for me, so that's pretty cool. Now I just need a Skadi to field alongside her...

Great idea. Having an overall Point Value and Expected Risk Percentage gives more grasp how any GSSR banner really is. If anything, I'll add to consider whether you prefer new servant or duplicate is acceptable. Unfortunately, I already had rolled this Anniv GSSR. I chose on the Archuria banner and got Musashi, still a W and she is new. Great Anniversary so far. Next GSSR, I will apply this point system to help me. Thanks for sharing.

I got Morgan out of mine and I couldn't be happier. I got Morgan NP2 now so it was really nice to get

Ended up rolling for the Himiko/Gogh/Ibuki/etc. banner. Either I’d get NP2 on a character I already have or NP6 in Meluko’s case or I’d get one of 3 new characters. Ended up with Summer Kiara, which is quite fitting since I rolled on her banner, but didn’t get her. Better late than newer. Would’ve have minded Summer Abby or Douman either. Douman could’ve given Chen Gong a new purpose in life.

Really nice guide! Doing expected value and fail chance together is a really good format. Obviously YMMV based on your haves and wants, but this is great as an in-a-vacuum analysis.

I wanted to get an extra Ibuki copy she was my main target, ended up with Melusine & Muramasa instead (both new servants) Melusine was my second target so I'm very satisfied with this GSSR

Rolled on 2022 knights aiming for Ibuki or Melusine. Ended up with Van-Gogh, so I can’t complain.

Went for the Van Gogh banner because I wanted Gogh. Ibuki shows up and thought I was gunna just get a dupe this gssr, so I just decided to skip the rest of the multi and then a foreigner card shows up and its Gogh! I was soo happy! Would have been hell for me if I got Abby since she was my last wanted servant.

I got double GSSR this time which I'm super stoked about. Got Murasaki (the target) and Reines, on top of Lakshmi Bai and Mysterious Foreigner XX (Summer). Overall a fantastic banner, and the only time I actually got my target.

Kinda wish this video was out a week ago. I pretty much follow your advice on which banners to roll for when it comes to account building, especially when it comes to GSSR banners that are least likely to screw me over.

I got Koyan with the tickets, so I went for the Morgan banner. And I got Morgan. I have not had a single thought since then.

Roll for the one with Douman on it. Lucifer, The Great Satan, compels you to do so.

I messed up so bad, went for the Castoria banner when I had 3 out of 5 of them, ended up with no new servants, 2× Crane and 1× Vergil 😭

After 4 gssr trying to pull Kingprotea, the head pat queen finally showed up

Went for the Mel banner with NP5 Mel (lucked into NP4 with free quartz), NP5 Ibuki (bought a pack with a gift card and got 3 levels from it), and NP1 Gogh as the jackpots. NP1 Douman, NP3 Abby, and NP3 Kiara would have also been fine (wasn't super interested in the rest, though they would have at least been new). Wound up getting Mel and Gogh (who I plan on taking to 120 and 100 respectively). Not my first double jackpot, but hitting NP5 on my favorite Servant in the game felt absolutely amazing (and Gogh has been one of my favorite Servants to use as well).

Worth mentioning regarding Dantes and a few other quick loopers is that thanks to the game having TWO separate skadis that can do effectively the same thing, as well as triple support meaning theres a lot of support Skadis up again (even if they require scrolling to get to, bleh), with a few caveats (3/3/x node, situationally can afford a 2 enemy wave) he can loop with a no-charge CE via the triple skadi system (double ruler + caster). It's expensive as shit to run (2 limited ssr, 3 if the dps is also one; potentially levelled charge appends for the looper AND sometimes the skadis themselves, like with Caren) but hey, it like... works now, so thats cool i guess? idk kinda coping but still, the damage output of that setup is pretty impressive - especially if the no-charge CE is Black Grail. and P.S. - regarding morgan, she actually loses in direct damage to summer BB at equal np levels if the target isnt a KotR or a Fae, because in current JP s.BB has an NP interlude as well three separate damage buff sources (that she can double dip on in 2-charger setup with Atlas) vs Morgan's unbuffed NP and only charisma to her name. Small tidbit, but worth mentioning imo.

Murasaki is one of my absolute favorite waifus and I have her Summer alt at NP2. Though I would have been happy with Kama, Arjuna, or Reines, I'm glad the game understood who I REALLY wanted. ^_^

It was a solid GSSR. Though honestly the highlight for me was getting a first copy of Barghest. NP2 Himiko is ok I suppose. It was worth taking my chance at getting some of the characters I didn't have. Plus with how my luck has been on regular banners I can live with decent GSSR luck.

Went for the safest option for me which was 11:10 and got a 2nd copy of Maid Alter. Had no strong preference so this was neither good nor bad/an okay result for me, although I suppose it would've been more of a boon had they never returned Rider Kintoki in JP

Was between jalter and merlin but decided jalter since i had other servants I wanted there unlike merlins one. My friend told me to instead do merlin and I trusted him… Trusting him paid big time, merlin arrived :D

I've gotten summer abigal twice now from GSSRs. Pain.

I opted to go for the Himiko banner, ideally shooting for anothr NP level on either her or Ibuki but figured the rest of the banner would be a win as well. Ended up getting the Melusine I skipped over previously, works for me.

i rolled on Castoria expected worst case outcome for me. Morgan dup ended up with Ms Crane, and odd as she is, not disappointed.

I rolled for Shirou; got Smol Lot, The Himbo, and that demon slayer from Heian Kyo.

Rolled on the banner for Arjuna Alter, Reines, or Kama for NP2. Got Murasaki, but hey, that's life.

i love how i managed to NP5 one of the worst ssr sabers (saber shiki) without trying at all it is equal parts hilarious and infuriating

Good thing I haven't picked a GSSR yet... I was gonna go with one of the last two, but after looking at them all, I wasn't sure. I don't have a great feeling about this, that's why I'm shook. But ay we gotta bite the bullet!

Okita will never fall off she’s completely self sufficient and only gets stronger with quick buffs now or in the future , great saber

I rolled on the Astolfo/Romulus/Orion/Sei banner because it was the one where i wasnt at risk for dupes or anyone id be actually unhappy getting. Got Astolfo, was happy with it, i have rommy and orion on JP anyways.

And now I feel validated for rolling Summer Musashi.

I did 2022-23 Knights because 6/8 were wins for me, and three of them were *big* wins for me. The only duds were getting an NP1 Summer Kiara, or NP6 Summer Abi. ...so of course I hit the 1/8 shot of NP6 Summer Abi >.>

Rolled for Morgan. Summoned 2 Kagekiyos instead.

I went for ishtar, and ended up getting lancer Tamamo, along with summer anne and mary, and lancer vlad, all new servants. I really like tamamo too so i'm happy with that, and the pirate duo seem like fun characters as well.

I ended trying for Squirtoria, Altrio, and Tama Lancer; any of the three and I'd be golden. I already had Moriarty and Ishtar, so 33.3% chance of not getting a new servant... I got Moriarty. Aaaahhh!! (NP2 now, lost the previous GSSR going for Altrio or Squirtoria)

went for a mediocre 3 banner because I literally had nothing from those banners. Got Orion and ROMA in a double roll, so mission accomplished. still no skadi...

I managed to get Archer Helena and Foreigner Hokusai from my GSSR banner, Both of which i didn't have before now! So yeah I managed to do really well on this particular banner. Last time I only managed to get another copy of Nightingale, which isn't badl NP 2 Pledge can pull your butt out of a really bad fire if you have it. I'm just saying this time things went MUCH better.

I went for 2019 knights + extra. I won! finally got Ereshkigal

Rolled for Morgan, got Morgan. 4 star was rider murusaki so that was a bust, but I can live with it. My Morgan is now np3 after all

I usually roll for old servants from before I started so it was Knights 2018 for me aiming for Ishtar, Musashi, or Squirtoria. Ended up with Proto Arthur AND Tama-lancer. So now they're both NP2 since Proto came for White Day this year (lucky Kitasean) and Tama came for the GSSR last Anniversary as well.

I'm probably rhe only person who went for the saber shiki banner. tjay being said, I did win and got my second copy of her

You know you've spent a lot on this game when GSSR decision is actually really difficult. For most ppl it's probably a no brainer to attempt the banners with Reines or Castoria (which are not only top tier supports, the alternatives so happen to be incredibly good). Me who has multiple NP5s across multiple years (one of which is in fact NP5 Reines), that decision doesn't come quite so easily. Can't be mad getting my 3rd copy of Miss Crane who I'd say is unironically quite useful if you're trying to turn an NP5 Shuten Douji into a passable farmer.

I rolled the banner with Reines, Murasaki, Kama, and Arjuna Alter. 50% chance to get a premium DPS, 25% chance to get a 50% NP charger, and 25% chance to have servant I probably would never use. I ended up rolling Reines so I’m satisfied.

Good vid, but as a new player I have to say Miss Crane is a disaster if you're rolling on a fresh account. Karin at least works as a generalist farmer and her ascension materials are forgiving. I'm seriously considering rerolling a fresh account

Rolled for Tam Lin Lancelot or Gogh and got Muramasa and Percival. Not bad.

I somehow got very lucky by getting Melusine and Percival from the Gssr. I couldn't pick the Castoria Banner, even though I don't have her, since I got most of the other Servants on that Banner. I couldn't risk it, a new Servant is always better than a second NP Level (I already have Crane, Morgan and Kagekiyo)

I got baited by Castoria and came out with a costume-crazed lady.....the one I wanted the least and would be the least useful for me, well other than Caren, so maybe Miss Crane wasn't the worst, but it does hurt to not have Castoria.

Always assume worst case. If you have one servant assume you will pull them. To be pragmatic rate everyone on a scale of 1-5 and average it out over the banners you want to pull for.

I wanted to do the big funny and roll the Miss Crane GSSR to get her to NP5, since I had to stop at NP4 for the Grail Live Event. I got the big funny. She's now my third NP5 SSR behind Spishtar and Beni.

Nero bride is perfect for quick teams. Cause most of them don’t have a np regen buff and they only have 30 % np charge making nero bride the only servant that can truly fix their flaws

Thx for the vid! I made a similar analysis when deciding on what banner to roll. Went for the Junao, Reine, Murasaki and Kama banner, 50% cuz I wanted extra copies of Arjuna and 50% because them Murasaki milkers have been on my radar since her release. I got my horny wish granted and my third summer banana oni. Truly, God works in mysterious ways haha

Picked the Nobuvenger banner since it was the least janky for my account & got Summer Jeanne from it, even though I have Hokusai & Muramasa for looping.

I come to you all with a tale. I made my first NA fgo account over 5 years ago. Long story short, I deleted the game without making a bind code and regretted it a few months later when I wanted to get back into the game. I was unsuccessful with customer support so I decided to make a JP account and start over. I was very lucky with my JP account and I still play it to this day. Going back to Two weeks ago, I decided to make a new na account for fun since melusine was on rate up and 6th anni/koyanskya were around the corner. I was able to get melusine in 2 account rerolls and when koyanskya came out, I was able to get with a good chunk of the beginner quartz they give out. Now, we are at the moment where I am typing this comment and oberon is coming soon. If you read this far, good luck in your oberon pulls!

Main account I tried to get Castoria in her banner. But got a 3rd copy of Morgan instead Whilst my alt account I really wanted NP2 Musashi Zerker but got 3rd copy of Spishtar instead.

I was hoping for Morgan and didn't get her, but Miss Crane, np2 Castoria, Rider Murasaki and Tsuna are hard to complain about. Now I just need to somehow survive Oberon.

Tried to summon for Ereshkigal and Summer Nito. Got Summer Nito, but Abigail instead of Ereshkigal. Also another Sheba copy, which is nice.

For once I actually nailed who I was head hunting and grabbed Douman on one of my accounts. I also got my first double since like year 2 with summer Abby.

Tried my hand at Calvary extra since i failed at every single attempt at getting Castoria since i grinded their mats waiting for her the first time around and got 2 copies of Morgan and the bigger shocker Archer Illya who i had no idea was possible to get with this banner. And was it by reflex that you almost called Kagekiyo a socialist by accident again, new bit noise incoming.

I rolled the last banner because Taira and Caren was both in my top 5 for servants I wanted in the gssr and I didn't have crane. Got punished for accidentally lucksacking and np5ing Morgan on the earlier lb6 with 6th copy. At least I ot a 2nd copy of Percival.

I was aiming for Murasaki Shikibu, but got Kama. Im not going to complain I got one of the better Quick assassins but I dont have a Skadi to take full advantage and my friend list all removed Skadi for Castoria, Wavers, and Merlin. Best I can do is use Wu Zetian for quick support.

My GSSR was a bit salty this time. I rolled on Ishtar's banner on my main and got nothing but dupes. (NP2 Arthur, NP4 Kiyo lancer and NP6 Passionlip) My alt did much better. Murasaki, NP2 Miyu and summer Ushi. Not bad overall, but I will be waiting with baited breath for the next one to try and redeem myself.
