you are a rockstar!!!!! I've been trying to get my buddies bike going for almost a month now. Nowhere in the manual did it ever say that the volts needed to be cut down like that. you just added at least a week to my life!!! thank you
Yea it took me an entire summer to figure it out. Im glad this video has helped alot of people. Its such a common issue that is always over looked and hard to diagnose.

I picked up a 94 gsxr750 with an eBay ignition po couldn’t get a spark. I put the resistor in and still no spark. I measure voltage at ecu and it’s only getting 1.8volts from the ignition. It needs 8?
hey man will you send me one please i had a couple idiots stole my bike but i got it back i walked up to the spot i heard it was and i grabbed it back but they cut my ignition off with a grinder but the bike now u can smell fuel but cranks forever no fire soooo im assuming i got no spark ive rewired it but no fire soooo im hoping that this resistor will help me get my katana to start
I have no power ZERO POWER when I turn key. Could my ignition wires have gotten blown out to where I don't have the right reading and it cause a complete no power issue? 03 gsxr 600

Just bought a bike that was sitting at a tow yard for 7 years and was going to be a stunt bike and im trying to get it running and riding and so far it will crank wen jumped but not start. Wired the cluster back up cuz it was cut off but nothing happens on cluster and no spark. U have a FB or IG to chat?
Cut both wires on the ignition side so you dont mess up your main harness. Then connect the b/w and o/r with the resistor on the plugin side. Leave the b/w and o/r hanging from the ignition its self. Just tape them up there not used. The bike harness needs the resistance not the ignition/key its self.
If you put more than 8.5 volts to the ecu the security system will be activated. It wont hurt it any but It will kill the spark. The ecu thinks your trying to steal the bike by hot wiring it with 12 volts. The only way around it is using a resistor.
Not sure what a statchiometer is... but a small led light blub will work. Try a few different ones. Basically you need to take the 12v and make it 8.5. Then the ecu will think the security passed and send signal to the coils for spark
