Rockstar saying they care about player privacy is the biggest lie I have ever heard

They take player security very seriously, they even let other players know your IP and location to ensure your wellbeing on PC.

It's such a shame every company is going down the route of banning or doing extreme things for text and voice chat. In my experience what usually happens is people wont talk anymore after these updates drop because nobody wants to get banned and these systems wind up banning more people who don't deserve to be banned.

For some countries this chat bot will cause mass bans. I can see Australia having zero players left due to like the UK certain words are used as regular vocabulary.

I'm completely against bots monitoring voice comms. EVEN IF its racist because these days THAT can still be HEAVILY abused. Also Rockstar saying they won't compromise your personal info is a complete lie seeing as how a 16 year old hacked em and leaked the GTA VI game files or whatever, they do absolutely nothing about DDoSing which is an actual crime, and there are times when cursing someone out is actually deserved because they're just a toxic asshole to everyone all the time and live to ruin the game for everyone else. I.e. blowing up cargo, stream sniping, etc etc. What Rockstar SHOULD do is remove the profanity filter from text messages and replace it with a block feature that you have to manually opt in. Same thing with voice chat. Give players the option to mute non friends by default or something.

Xbox has been bad about banning people including me for saying basic stuff in chat. One day this guy was trolling in 2k by intentionally turning the ball over so we lose the game and I said "stop being a bum and trolling" and I got banned. Another time I got banned was in Call of Duty for telling this camper to "get off his vag" even though it wasn't profanity or abuse I still got banned. It's too sensitive and a problem.

This is going to fall flat on it's face, 95% of toxic messages are sent through the in game texting option and people who are going to get hurt the most aren't the toxic players, it's going to be people who like to josh around with their friends who are going to get hurt the most as the AI will likely fail to take context into consideration.

People shouldn't get banned for saying anything on +18 games, no exception, even if someone starts throwing slurs or death threats they shouldn't get banned, i get that it might feel horrible to listen to that but you can just block whoever is saying it. Children games on the other hand, there should be separate VCs for children and adults if possible and if it's not then banning trashtalkers from talking can do the trick

I’m not going to be buying GTA 6 because I don’t care anymore.

I was just in a game on PC today and 2 people got kicked for cheating. There was a message pop up for each of them when they got got. I was so surprised because of how prevalent modders are on PC. It was literally my first time seeing that message even though it feels like 1/5 lobbies on PC has one. Either it's just a ban wave for known exploits they've been sitting on, or they've actually implemented some real anticheat! Maybe R-Star is doing all these changes to modderation in preparations for gta6 online? Idk but I hope if gta 6 has an online mode they actually try harder to stop all these hackers.

What makes this even worse is they are using an automated system. There will be no discernment from an acrual hyman being.

This is a sign that rockstar is going to lower the quality of gta 6 and future rockstar games.

Call of duty has done the same thing. Once they added the bots nobody talked in game at all.. and same now with GTA online. I was in the lobby the other day it was dead quiet. I’m not surprised..

It's funny since back in 2016 Rockstar outright encouraged toxic behaviour with PvP businesses and encouragin g people to destroy other people's work. THen again, if you can take anyone swearing in an M rated game series, or you can't take people being mean over the internet maybe... just maybe... you might not be mentally old to play this game to begin with. In call of duty you can get chat banned while in a private lobby not even in a public game, I heard a guy was banned for talking about changing his transmission and the moderation thought he was saying slurs about trans people

The reason this is done is not because of rockstar but because some countries are making it necessary to filter chats in games which for some reason the devs/companies find it really hard to roll it out only for those people

They killed voice chat. I got a warning for telling some griefer he's a nerd and can't aim for shit. Now i have to disable voice chat and play it like it's a fucking singleplayer game.

Monitoring any voice chat at all on rated M games is just absurd. Like what kind of parent goes and buys a child a game about blowing people’s brains out or selling drugs and stealing and then complains when someone on voice chat says the f word? I mean the campaigns in all these games literally drop F bombs and then ban people in online play for saying the same shit? It’s insane. COD isn’t even a fun game without some friendly trash talk between rounds

Honestly, I think something has to be done with the chat in the Public Lobbies. It is fairly common for me to hear in people in a Public Lobby using racial epithets or words if you used them on live television or radio would get a FCC fine. I don’t know if this bot is the best solution. I got way more issues with people using modded accounts and it seems nothing happens from Rockstar about that.

This is a tad Orwellian. Especially the fact that a bot is going to probably find it difficult to understand the context of a situation. Although, I agree that moderating and banning people for genuine toxic & hateful behaviour & language is a good thing, however this could potentially screw over innocent people too, due to the AI misunderstanding a situation. Like that example you mentioned about your friend getting pissed at the game or telling a scumbag griefer to get lost are obvious examples of innocent people getting unjustly screwed over. So it’s rather risky.
