This video will include two different topics. The first one is, we will be comparing the old and delisted San Andreas Steam version with its retail/disc copies. After seeing this comparison you will know that the digital version sold on Steam was the worst version available for grabs. Not only it lacks of 18 music tracks, but there are also more game-breaking cons that you should definitely know. The bad thing is, Rockstar never tried to make it good. Why? You will see in this video!

The second topic is, we will be comparing three different retail versions with one another. There is "1.0" version, which is the day one release. Then there are "1.01" and "2.0" versions, which are considered to be called thew second edition.
You will know what developers fixed in the second edition and... what they forgot to implement in the Steam version...

Some question answered: 1)Game version depends only on your "exe"cutable. By using noDVD or what have you, you might get 1.0. 2)The best version is 1.0 + SilentPatch + some other mods and fixes. Just look at the description under this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mZVuYZrtHWo.html 3)You can install SAMP/MTA on Steam version by using 1.0 exe only. The bad thing is, if the radio plays a cut track, your game crashes. You have to properly downgrade your steam version by using the link above. 4)Windows Store version looks to be the same as the mobile version. 5)You won't have any problems if you play in 25-30FPS. If you disable the frame limiter, the game physics will be broken.

Vadim M If R* going to be released on Steam, why can't they just fix certain things like missing orange sky from the PS2 version, add better character models that are better than the sh**y Xbox 360 Remaster/Mobile Port or add local 2 player modes from the console port since a lot of Steam games now support local multiplayers with 2 controllers or more?

It's a shame Rockstar lost the licensing to most of the songs. The same thing happened to Vice City, as well. And that's one of the best parts of those two games.

+Rias Gremory Yeah, that was tragic. I remember owning both Vice City and San Andreas on my iPad Mini, and while I appreciated the streamlined controls, the checkpoint saves, and being able to keep your weapons after you die, I was very disappointed how they gutted the soundtrack for both games. I really wanted to jam to a little Ozzy Osbourne while in a car chase. Shame that Rockstar lost the licensing to those songs.

Rias Gremory They didn't "lose" them, they just lowered the costs by licensing only for a short amount of time for the original version (which is unfortunately pretty normal in the gaming industry) and didn't spend much more resources than needed for the Steam Version. That's why they didn't renew the licenses.

Maybe the steam version was done by another team at Rockstar Games, therefore they didn't care as much for the smaller details as the original developers would have maybe combined all the fixes so you would have the best experience for the game.

Vadim M i can't run the CD Rom version on modern hardware, unable to scale any good, not any near good colors.... They still patch it on Social Club, i only do that, never needed steam....

Pretty relevant video right now, it was the first one I thought of as soon as I heard of the trilogy remaster version coming out. Honestly, I'm surprised how many people genuinely thought it was going to be even remotely close to the original San Andreas when this Steam version sums up pretty damn well how they only care about the money.

I know I'm 7 months late, but the main reason why the PC version is the best compared to the other PC GTA Titles, is that Rockstar was building the game on PC from the start. Instead of building it on consoles then Porting it to PC, its built as a PC game from the start. That's why the game took forever to be ready. I can be wrong though, heard this in late 2015 - 2 years ago.

I distinctively remember the "good date" music being over the "bad date" cutscenes and NEVER heard a Rage Against the Machine song on the original version of the PS2. This change must have occurred during the 're-release' version that came out with the Xbox version

So for 90% of players, Steam version with Silent Patch is actually the best. It's more modern and upgraded than 1.0 or 1.01 and with SilentPatch you fix all the bugs the Steam version has

The game Bully back in the day used to be banned from my country as well. But that didn't prevent me from buying the original game at day one or even from the Steam US store some years later, lol. Nowadays the game is no longer banned here, since the ban 'kinda' expired.

2:35 The use of triggers was implemented in GTA IV. In San Andreas you had to press "A" or "X" to accelerate.

Any way to make the steam version to windowed mode without 3rd party downloads? It would be helpful to edit the directory files directly or create a file for graphics options to make it not full screen. That's the only problem, everything else works fine as is.

Thankfully all you have to do is use the downgrader for 1.0, apply the silent patch (drag and drop files), and the widescreen mod. If you're gonna use a pad use the ginput mod or w.e it is. It sounds like a lot but these are all dragging and dropping 1mb files into the folder.

Hi, my laptop blacks out when I play the steam version with controller for some reason. I tried validating the files and it worked for a while but it started happening again. Do you know how I can fix this bug?

it looks so bad, i played that one, then I got and used my disk version to mod in the controller and immediately noticed they graphics were better in the 2001 edition.

hey i had a question. idk if anyone will see this but whatever. i got the gold edition of gta san andreas and a ps2 for christmas 2008 I think and it looked good. later I got the standard edition because my disc got scratched, and the standard edition didn't seem to look as good, and it seemed slightly different... what is the deal with that?

I think you can by putting some files in the com.rockstargames.gtasa in android/data, last time I check, some people are working on it, I dont know if they are finished now

Nuel 398 Thanks but I need to redownload the game due to SD card problems, anyways I have Vice City and some songs have been removed as well, I went to the .OBB file then audio and there is every audio track in mp3 format, with the radios, maybe I just need to replace them with the original from a PC version, i'll go check it out, thanks for your help!

The apk doesnt contain the ACTUAL, just the launcher. When you buy the game off the Play Store it also downloads an .OBB file that placed in /android/obb. That OBB file is the game

I would have literally never even noticed these differences without this video. These are really minor things, which are made up by the fact just how cheap it is on Steam. I think I'm good.

The only really noticeable things are the radio tracks missing and the bad date music but only if you swing that way. EDIT: Also what i've noticed is that sensitivity is broken, it doesnt change up and down sensitivity but only left and right.

Awesome video! Could you do something similar for GTA 3? Just bought it on Steam and it's sooo much more buggy than the retail version I had back in the day.
