*Do you have a magazine with a GTA series article?* I would be very grateful if you could scan or photograph me your issue. These GTA articles usually have a lot of interesting stuff inside. If you think that your article is uninteresting, contact me anyways. Be aware, that I don't care if your issue is not written in English. If I use your scans or other materials in a video, I will give you a shout-out. This would be my special thanks to you. If you have something awesome or a lot of articles, I would be happy to give you an early access of my upcoming video (or even videos) absolutely for free. Do you have GTA press kit or non-English GTA version? Contact me here *(nationalpepper@gmail.com)* Thanks in advance!
A few things 1 I once did a school project about this topic it was well recieved 2 I also talked about this topic in my ICT Project that too Was Well Recieved 3 RockstarGames has actually Peaked my interest If The Twin Towers were suppose to be in GTA III Then Where would it be located?
Jaysus, is demonetization that fuckin bad you had to blur the world trade centre on fire? I think its safe to say EVERYONE has seen that footage, it was on repeat for years burned into our brains thats why I even recognise a blurred clip. Why bother when everyone has seen it, or is it monetizing related?
@LostMC [Watch Dogs 2] [ROBLOX] well lcs was almost contemporary (set in 98)but by then t(05 or so) the "heat" of 9 11 was well faded, i loved the idea of placing the games in the past, i will love one set in the 70s, cars, music and general setting wiil be cool
I think everyone else in the world thought that way. It was only American activists like Hilary Clinton clutching their pearls over being able to blow up a plane in a video game.
Smart Move.... :) Just for the inherent value later alone. (A lot of times, first editions, if they are like limited prints or recalled, have great value later. With books anyway, don't know how it works with gaming physical media)
I still have the original launch copy of San Andreas on PS2 with Hot Coffee on it. The thing is - no videogame is specifically noted with "editions". You have to thank the people that have no life that spend weeks researching every single game disc and picking out the different patch versions by file creation date on their PC and by looking at the back of the boxart for a different barcode number. That's the only way to tell. There's like 9+ different edits of Vice City alone.
The Dodo wasn't meant to be flown because the developers didn't want the playera to see the map from above. Many textures are not finished / present and you can fall into buildings.
It is pretty crazy they don't even have normals on many of the building tops, like they were saving every ounce of space lol Also crazy to think the dodo flying was unintended for how cool it is.
I was able to fly to a secret part of the map beyond shoreside vale. There's an unfinished city there or possibly a beta build. Couldn't walk very far without falling through the map but I do remember there being traffic.
Amaranthus616 you're probably right about the traffic I am trying to recall something from 15years ago.what you said about the intro makes sense and clears up the mystery to me. Thanks :)
If they canceled the game, the whole series would not be as big as it is now. GTA III literally started the franchise's success which later inspired the creation for GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City, I think they would had brought back a different version some time later but it wouldn't be remembered as much.
I don't think the whole game series would get permanently taken down if they went through with it, the company probably had some plans in case to bring it back but much time later. So they would had created a whole new version to release after the fear and tensions calmed down maybe two or three years later in 2003, and the series could had took a different path.
Then: 1: GTA Vice City and San Andreas wouldn't of been released 2: The iconic box art for the GTA games of today would've never existed 3: The box art would be different from each gta game 4: There would be a lot less GTA Spin-offs (VC Stories, VC, SA, LCS) 5: Right now, we would still be on GTA IV and GTA V would come instead of the antIcipated GTA VI
Unpopular opinion here but, I think it wouldn't have changed much, at least in the short term. I'm almost completely sure Resident Evil 4 was more influential to gaming and everything that came after him. Instead, the question I have is if someone would've taken the "open world 3rd person shooter" genre that early. I think they would've been late for at least 2 years more than their actual boom, so maybe first two years of the current gen may had the 3rd person shooter openworld spam the PS3 and Xbox360 received.
A little observation about the airline. They changed the name from "Plummet" to "McAdam", so as not to offend. Most streets in cities are called "Macadam" constructs, which means, they are made in a precise manner of layering different substances in order to create a smooth surface with good drainage and long durability. This was invented by Scottish Engineer John Loudon McAdam. With the addition of tar, the paving is called Tarmacadam, or Tarmac, which is often used synonymously with airport runways. So if your plane did "Plummet", it would go right into the "McAdam." This has been Roseanne, your guide to the world of facts.
I have worked in civils and construction my whole life and worked with tarmac.. I did not know this is why it was called tarmacadam but now I do so thanks 😂
I think I found another edited line in the game. On the radio station Chatterbox 109, a conspiracy theorist calls Lazlow, and he says: "It's all designed to frighten us so we don't complain about our rights being taken away in the name of fighting...whatever boogeyman they come up with today!" However, there appears to be an abrupt edit between "fighting" and "whatever", as if a portion of the line was either cut or replaced. I'm guessing that the caller was going to say "...in the name of fighting terrorists or whatever boogeyman they come up with today!", but the 9/11 terrorist attacks instead made Rockstar change the line to what it is now.
Jonathan, I recall that now that you mention it. It was a leaked PC version which came out before ps2 (august 2001). When Vad said ps2 version came out first I was like whaaat. I still have those disk, atleast one of the 2. Will try to find the other. Even if it doesnt install on windows 7, I remember disk 2 was the one with audio files.
@@KRAFTWERK2K6 Or someone spawing in a lot of object by hack, glitching you stuck in the air and the plane explodes, it's BS like that which is why i am not playing, though i think no one should play the Online now or else there won't be a new game.
@@wiseman9285 wow didn't expect someone to talk about freemasonry in a gta video but I definitely think they are influenced by the NWO or the illuminati cause if you look in GTA 5 the sky has chemtrails, theres cults, and they have bunkers which is an actual thing for the rich elites once shit hits the fan and the last and final war starts. That's why all of these walmarts and Sam's club have been shutting down cause they are being used as bunkers. Theres videos on RU-vid about real underground bunkers already built
I had seen the 9/11 mentions here 9:40 were about the ability to see the “ghost” of the towers in the games backdrop when at a distance. Supposedly this was only available to see in 1.40 and during the evening sunset sky set.
AVD Gaming yeah in old screenshots you see white police choppers but I think they were never meant to stay white, because in those screenshots you can also see that the LCPD writing and helicopter number are also white so you can barely read it
Unrelated: Man, the 2000's feel like a different era. Videos like this remind me just how immersing games were to me. The atmosphere in games like GTA, Max Payne and other titles was...i can't explain it, really. I still like video games, but they don't have that "feeling" anymore. Sigh...i sound like some sort of worn out addict. On topic: Thank you for your research, uploader. Good stuff.
I know what you mean and it is hard to describe. Like, games look better and more detailed now but their graphics somehow seem sterile and lack atmosphere. I'm wondering if it's because with graphics being better, and more things being in your face and explicitly laid/spelled out, the mind doesn't fill in the blanks and add to the construction of the game world. We're less co-creators now and more observers. Hard to describe and English not first language xD
I have the uncut European version and one interesting thing I can vaguely recall is the police helicopter pilot making a remark about crashing into a building because of his lack of knowledge of flying the chopper, that would have been a massive red flag lol
Imagine an alternate version of reality where the Housers decided *not* to release this masterpiece. When we think about how much this series has inspired the rest of the industry, it's easy to believe how we experience modern games would be vastly different-from level design to player mechanics. And not just in the open world sandbox genre, but everywhere.
*What I didn't include in the video.* _Just some geeky facts, which are not so relevant, but interesting to know._ • *NastyLimbsCheat* doesn't have a confirmation sound & text notification because developers didn't add a code for that. 8:10 • Some screenshots for the official strategy guide were taken starting from two weeks before the "9/11" event, which means that the screenshots seen in the guide can be dated to just before the tragedy. [The guide author] • According to the in-game TV, Plummet Airlines would return in GTA IV. gta.wikia.com/wiki/Plummet_Airlines?file=Plummet-GTAIV-starjunction.png • You can return Airtrain explosion in GTA Vice City as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U1cMScOi-aA.html • I see few people wonder how we got a source code of executable. The answer is "reverse engineering" of mobile port of the game. • In the new PAL version of the game "SPANKED-up madmen!*!*" line has an extra *"!"*, which is missing in NTSC ver. 6:29 • I assume, the new US box cover was inspired by German one. vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/gtawiki/images/e/e1/Gta3_gta_III_gtaIII_lyberty_city_PS2_pochette.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100606113059 • Despite the fact that French sources have pre 9/11 English text, the translated text doesn't have any mentions of dead police officers, terrorists and so on. 17:51 • If we revert the change in *"RemoveBodyPart"* (as it coded on PS2). The gore mode will work in the same way as the console counterpart. As soon as you type *"NastyLimbsCheat"* on your keyboard, you will have the gore mode. Without this change, the code for PC is just useless, like I said here. 8:39 • In other languages, paper1 always has one short sentence describing the article with Claude (the English lines used for the translation are short as well). It seems, developers totally trashed the English lines, because, for some reason, they decided to put there an entire article from the newspaper (lol). Thankfully, you can't see this mess, because the line starts with * in the vanilla game. 19:27 • If we were lucky enough, the old text for the end sequence would be stored in the mission sources, but for very odd reason, every single text line there is named "Mission brief". 20:34
Tomas Zach Sadly, no clue. All text sources have this old line commented with {} and on top of that they added the new line. I guess, last minute decision.
OMG!, that day was a hell. I was there, and I felt the vibes in my body, there were cries of desperate people, the world has changed since that morning :(
16:40 these Ammunation ad changes reflect the time period the games are set more than anything. Vice City wouldn't be talking about Saddam and Liberals but instead Communism.
@@flaxringe It wasn't Paranoia, the State took the opportunity to turn up all the fear-porn in order to get the power they needed to install controlling measures over the population, and create a Orwellian state, which will never go away now and will only get worse, especially now when China released a virus to destroy the West and counted on their paid off Capitalist Politicians like Biden to sell you all out through the back-door.
Sorry to hear that, man. A lot of good people were unnecessarily lost on that fateful day. I hope your family have found peace and that your brother lives on through your memories. Peace! From Sussex, England.
man, seeying all this content removed after what the developers said now i understand why they removed all that stuf and even question the fact of the publishing fo the game... damn if i was in their position i wouldn't be able to handle with the guilt even if it has nothing to do with the event

Oof I always wonder if Rockstar checks it's community out and watches videos like these, thinking ''Holy shit, they nailed it (or not) with this theory''.
@@ippo3963 Rockstar has nothing to fear from Jack Thompson or any crackpot conservative "activist" - Video games won the culture war. Rockstar aren't lying, they legitimately don't fucking remember and the fact they can't recall something about one of their games embarrasses them.
Amazing! As a kid growing up I always wondered why there was a blue lcpd cruiser in the intro and the cars were black in the game... Guess I've got an early euro version :)
You just earned a one sub from me. Comprehensive information about content changes in video games, explained only through official sources, that's what I like.
16:40 What's interesting about the Vice City version of Ammu-Nation is that it's also implemented in San Andreas (inside the Ammu-Nation building, and not a commercial audio reel)
9:40 Could rumors of the removal of "any vestige" of the Twin Towers be partly fueled by items like the screenshot at the bottom left? From that angle, the curve in the Credit Union Building makes it so it could be mistaken for two towers standing close together.
You got a good heart, kid. I was only 6 years old at the time so I didn't understand it as much as I should've at the time. My mom just went to grab a photo of me and my sister as toddlers and she told me "this is you and your sister when you were babies, I took you to see those towers and now they're all gone." I'll never not get emotional about those towers and all the people who lost their lives that day.
It’s something that should never be forgotten and always asked about. I was at school when it happened being a five-year-old, I remember that evening being home with the family watching it on the news and I replicated what I saw on the screen. Stacking blocks on top of each other, and then taking my hand as a plane and crashing it into the blocks. Remember to always be kind to everyone you meet, we don’t know what people are going through with their own individual life path.
I remember years ago my friend told me that the dodos wings were clipped because of 9/11. I was just browsing some videos that led to GTA and for some reason the ghost town popped into my head. This of course made me think about the "Wings being clipped" because the dodo was so hard to fly. At the time, even though the internet was around, a lot of websites (Especially RU-vid) weren't a thing yet, so I have no idea how he heard this rumor. That all brings me to this video today
I have the first European version of the game the first thing i noticed when i played it the first time was that the police cars in the intro was blue and in the game they were black and i didnt understand it!
This video is amazing. I love this video so much because it shows you all the things that where in the game before the tragedy. It is just so interesting to me. Thank you for making this video ;)
Another hidden find that I would like to share was when I was using the 'Change Appearance' cheat to try to become the Indian taxi driver. No matter how long I tried I could become every other pedestrian except for the Indian guy. I knew it was something to do with the post 9/11 changes but was surprised that it's never been mentioned in any other GTA III videos I've seen.
20 years since this game release and 20 years since 9/11, I'm not from the United States but it was an event in human history, it seems almost surreal now I can't believe that actually happened.
Why? It's very possible. There's lots of People who would do the same if they could. It just happened Osama was in power . But lots of horrible people from all countries would happily do what he did if they had power like him. And its not something that breaks that laws of physics. Plane go fast steel goes boom
Could the supposed World Trade Center look alike building (or multiple buildings) during the beta stages of GTA III that was cut from the final version be either a combination of all 7 buildings of the old World Trade Center complex or a combination of the Twin Towers (formerly located in New York City) and the Alfred P Murrah Federal Building (formerly located in Oklahoma City)? (8:43)
that unknown character that you mentioned on 13:43 is actually a beta man who looks like an incognito guy. the reason why he was moved it's because he was giving you a mission to blow up a school bus (beta vehicle) filled with children... you probably know now why this was the reason he's moved from gta 3
Hey Vadim m, great video. Was wondering if you will do a Xbox comparison. From what I know, the Xbox version is somewhat like the PC with various changes including graphics and smaller tweaks. Just wanting to know.
Vadim M ok, but if you have resources you could try doing one. You did one on PS2 vs PC, and even the mobile port, guess it would be fitting to make one on Xbox
I wish they would release a special version of the game on it's 20th Anniversary with most of the cuts present. Would be interesting to see everything we missed out on from the original release.
Great video. At 9:40 I think they meant "vestige" (vest-age): a trace of something that is disappearing or no longer exists. Which is inline with what he was saying about the removal buildings.
Really interesting video. I am rather sure that army ad appearing at 14:50 is included in Vice City on K-CHAT. There is one part where Amy cuts to a commercial, and it is that one, but it is chopped; it starts off for a second and immediately skips to the part about making beds near the end of the commercial. I've always wondered why it cuts like that, and maybe it has something to do with that, perhaps cutting out the more "inflammatory" part in the beginning that paints soldiers as mindless morons.
