/ badgergoodger / badgergoodger / badgergoodger In case you didn't realize, we're already seeing little bits and pieces of the next GTA before it's even been officially announced!
The wait between SA and IV (3 years plus change) seemed insane back in the day…and then the wait between IV and V seemed insane (4 years plus change). The fact that it’s been over a *decade* since the last GTA was released would’ve been inconceivable to us back then. Like there was an entire console generation without a dedicated GTA release. Even after V came to PC, a lot of us thought "between 2017 and 2019 we’d get the next entry…" Boy were we optimistic. I don’t think we’ll see VI until next year at least, and more likely it’ll release in 2025, *thirteen years* after GTA V.
@@Ebalosus I think GTA 6 was on a totally normal release cadence until the massive culture change and talent churn at Rockstar, coupled with the pandemic. Rumour is that the game was 70% complete by the time it was restarted and would have likely been released in late 2022. Bear in mind that Rockstar have key studios in the UK (particularly Scotland) and India. Scotland and India went beyond a joke on COVID restrictions which meant staff were pretty much welded into their homes - no matter what people say, that can and does have huge impact on your ability to work effectively.
I find it far more likely that the police helicopter art is just based on a real life picture of the helicopter. Miami and LA police use the same helicopter model, so Rockstar would likely just keep the GTA V design for both time saving and consistency reasons, based on precedent. The design we see on that piece of art however is identical to the real life model, not the in-game version.
Rockstar reuses assets always, it saves money on design. Already from the GTA 6 leaks from the teapot hacker, we saw that the map is the red dead redemption 2 map + engine (hence the weapon wheel).
@@MrWolfSnack That's true to any developer, not just Rockstar. When GTA V was in development, Rockstar did reused many GTA IV vehicles as placeholders, some of them still remained in-game. Even GTA V's first trailer from 2011 reused police cruiser and police maverick from GTA IV, but with LSPD liveries. These were changed to newer models around 2012.
*"Miami and LA police use the same helicopter model, so Rockstar would likely just keep the GTA V design for both time saving and consistency reasons"* That's most likely that Rockstar would keep the GTA V design of Police Maverick, just change the livery from black to green or a completely new livery. It could also be Rockstar decides they want to create a new model, nobody (except of Rockstar employee) know what's going on at Rockstar North or other of their studios. It could also be Miami would purchase new helicopters by 2024 or 2025 .
I really hope that they didn't COMPLETELY restart the game right after Dan left, i want to believe they've been working on GTA 6 just right before RDR2 dropped, just like they did with every other GTA game, on which they started the 2nd coming GTA game before the 1st even came out. For those who're unaware, GTA 5 started being developed right before GTA 4 was dropped.
According to reporters, it was only a *"soft reboot,"* as in they toned down their ridiculously ambitious plan to a game that's still huge but manageable. It probably started around RDR2's release, did a little reset in 2019, and went on from there.
A few buildings seen in the leaks look like real life buildings from that area especially a red painted one with tentacles, but mostly the way they looked in 2015 which is probably when the location scouting started, the development has been going for years, and the videos we've seen might be 1-2 years old already. Hopefully they kept the story they worked on before leaving.
The idea of having old GTA 6 vehicles being reused for GTA5O could explain why in the footage we all saw, you could see some of these GTA5O vehicles in the background (most notably you could see the Retro Elegy in one clip)
Also, the E-Cola redesign seen recently as a livery in GTAO was seen in the leaks. A lot of higher quality VI assets are likely being backported into GTAO.
@@keatonwastaken nah probably not, I think it's actually going to be in the game. Someone else mentioned the Buffalo STX which you can see in the same clip I'm referencing, so I'm certain those cars are gonna be in the GTA 6 singleplayer. They have to, they can't just release GTA 6 and have every traffic car use the same models as in GTA 5 lmao
@@_Devil Yeah obviously, but I do think they probably will avoid reusing same cars from GTA:O in GTA 6, Rockstar so far has completely revamped all cars in every release basically, only leaving slightly similar cars at most.
@@keatonwastaken 100% that they use placeholders. Remember one of the first GTA 5 trailers, where they had a reskinned black&white version of the GTA 4 "Stanier" police car and people got mad about "not getting a new police car". They gotta test with many vehicles on screen, but it takes a while before all vehicles are complete so it makes sense they'd use placeholders.
I gotta say guessing what assets were reused or even teased and such in current games is so fun for me, especially locations, and cars, like for example the Willard Eudora, which already looks like a traffic vehicle seen in the leak videos, it has a really well done rear axle and suspension details, and some other things like hood and trunk hinges, it's fun to look at certain recent DLC vehicles and see how much more detailed some are, especially as a car guy lol, I'm pretty excited to see what makes it through to 6, and to guess what could be early looks at assets
On the topic of GTA VI brands appearing in Online updates. There are a few examples that i wanna list off that I've come across, the most interesting one is Schlott Construction, which was featured on some liveries for online vehicles, first one being the Comet Retro Custom from 2016. But in the GTA VI leaks, a building for the company was seen accross the street in the waffle house footage, being the first location based appearance for the brand. There's also been spotted some new graphics in the Definitive Edition trilogy which are likely GTA VI brands. Such as some new airline companies (Allied Air, Buccanair, Emerald Air, and Yankee) a new E-cola logo which resembles the Coca-Cola logo quite closely, and a new Visa parody credit card brand called "Want". There are some other new Online brands that point towards Florida is the filling station "Arrow Gasoline", which seems to be a Sunoco parody, which doesn't operate any stations in California and the west coast. Which points towards the new east coast location of Florida. There's also a BBQ company seen in the Arena War advertisements called Billy Ray Joe, which has taglines mentioning "Southern Coast Spit Roast", which corresponds with Florida being a South Coast or Gulf Coast state. The brand also doesn't operate any location in San Andreas, so likely VI brands.
There's a redesigned eCola Bottle artwork also from 2018 featured on the Hotring Cars. And there may or not be some waffle house icons somewhere in the trilogy too..
@@jamescrab4110 it means when they did research on the map they did it a long time ago so some buildings could be outdated or very different between the game and irl now
Who says it’s set in 2023? I can’t remember if one of the characters mentioned it in the leaked test videos so excuse me if they did, but I wouldn’t expect the game to release this year let alone even next year, so why would they end up having the setting so dated by the time of release?
@@Rainquack Yeah, new Dilettante would make sense. It would be realistic if they kept the Dilettante as well as you often still see older Prius on the road.
On thier Christmas tree art work video, you can see a razor blade which could be another GT6 reference? Because the original Vice City game intro/loading screen briefly used a black outline of a razor blade that you looked through, whilst the camera was panning around the city. Also a razor blade is commonly used whilst doing cocaine and Vice City/Miami is known for cocaine being easily imported from Columbia.
What amazes me is that the whole community wants GTA VI rushed, yet when developing time was shorter and less stressful, the graphics were the same. GTA IV from the last installation, the graphics were massively better. GTA V compared to GTA IV, the graphics also were massively better. The environment and atmosphere in RDR2 are much better than GTA V's. When a dev studio is developing a game from a year after they release a game, the graphics are going to be similar to the same, which is where COD is at at the moment. With where GTA VI is in development, the graphics are a lot better compared to GTA V and RDR2. This is not surprising, but it shows why a game shouldn't be rushed when there's demand for something that doesn't exist at the time.
It was just only a decade since previous GTA release, so people are so desperate. Rockstar could have show screenshot(one is enough really) to calm people down instead of only saying about game, but it's Rockstar
@@coolfaiq8057 Rockstar could at least show two or even one screenshot like it was in 2011 instead of saying about game. This would create hype and calmed people down
I think GTA V is going to end up largely forgotten as an outlier in the series. The leaks for GTA 6 suggest much more is being recycled from IV and San Andreas than from V. V was graphically better but at times it felt like quantity over quality.
This is a great video, keep up the work! You forgot to mention the e-cola livery for the hotring everon, that has an e cola logo first found in the gta 6 leaks. Anyway, it would be great if you make more videos on this, once more "eastereggs" get found.
I think the house is probably in GTA 6 somewhere, maybe a protagonist's home. It has the RDR2 art style, it's a typical Miami-style house, and if you look closely you'll see parts of the artwork and model appear unfinished.
Yeah even though it's still nothing confirmed yet I feel like that house could've been from GTA VI like it's weird that it's only appeared in the remaster and the fact that the image looks alot more HD than others tells me it wasn't something from the old games files or even V lmao
We actually have confirmation of recent GTA Online vehicles being in VI, thanks to the Buffalo STX being visible in one of the leaked clips. I'm not sure what the date was for that clip, so I can't say if it was in VI before Online, but I'd be willing to bet money it was designed for VI first and backported. The Eudora is another definite backport, imo; it wasn't spotted in the leaks (contrary to what some believe), but it's a perfect fit for Vice City. Many have theorized that it could even replace the iconic Ocean View Hotel Oceanic from the original VC, myself included. Then there's the Blista Kanjo variants featured in this very video, which seem like odd additions when paired with brand new super cars but would fit into common metropolitan traffic quite well. Edit: if anyone wants to double check the Buffalo STX, iirc it was in the clip of Lucia standing in front of a strip mall with various traffic driving by. I think it was one of the most recently recorded clips, so it isn't definitive proof of it being in VI prior to Online, but I think that makes far more sense than the alternative.
I recently played Max Payne 3 again. There is a section on a yacht in the Panama Canal. You wouldn't say it at first (since Max Payne 3 was released a year before GTA V) but the yacht in GTA online is the same as the yacht in Max Payne. So it's not just GTA games they exchange assets from (or concepts).
Yeah, I do think that the all of a sudden biggest update for the game with the island with tropical trees, cars, themes, and guns is definitely from GTA 6 that was scrapped and reused for the GTA5 Update
There were rumours going back years that GTA 6 was going to have a Narcos-style plot and be set in different time periods. In fact some references to that appeared in files for the PC version of RDR2, including things like an AK47. AK47 is obviously not a weapon available in RDR2. "Project Americas" was rumoured to have a portion set in Latin America in the 1980s. And guess what Cayo Perico looks like? Makes sense to me to reuse those assets.
@@halfbakedproductions7887 a lot of those Project Americas rumors seem to have been accurate with the leaked footage. I'm very curious about one thing. We've had 10 long years to look at how Rockstar approaches things now. COULD this be the era where they finally give us the ability to travel between states? Even as far as III (And I can't find a lot of these articles anymore they've been lost online or maybe I read them in old gaming magazines back in the day) but the Housers have always said online was the goal. To have an mmo, essentially. Well they did that in V. They also said if they could, they absolutely would make it possible for you to traverse one giant map. Idk man I think that's exactly why this is taking so long.
@@tonyf5869 when I’m off work I’ll link it but I seen a project Americas leak article months before the Gta 6 leak that was very accurate, it talked about the two protagonists, had their names I think and said it was gonna be set in parts of Miami and Latin America, the gta 6 leaks showed us and told us tho that they cut out Latin America and it sticking to mainly south Florida. My point is looking back we had a lot of fake leaks but a decent amount of legit ones too, and legit ones that show the story’s changed a lot for the game
The chopper is right next to a box cutter blade whatever thing. Now use your heads for a moment Miami choppers razors used to separate lines of coca. It's a gta 6 teaser.
Great video as always Badger, what are your thoughts on the alleged GTA VI theme song found in the GTA Online Arcade? Specifically, on the Race 'n Chase one. It's called 'Vice Nights'. One thing I don't see people pointing out is the air freshener in the car on that screen, it changes to a wine glass with a toothpick in it, and if you look at it it kinda looks like a 'VI'.
if you play max payne 3 (2012), there is an advert that has a picture of downtown las santos in the last airport level before entering the airport train station (GTA V was released in 2013)
M16 and spas 12 was used alot especially during during the 1980s and 1990s does that mean gta 6 early in the development was supposed to be set in the past before rockstar scrap that idea and then just recycle it for the cayo perico heist dlc?
GTA VI is now Take-Two's third Duke Nukem Forever, for now that is. The first being 3D Realms' ill-fated Duke Nukem 3D sequel, the second was Rockstar Games' ill-fated unreleased PS3-exclusive Agent, and GTA VI is now the third DNF.
It's *neat* to think, even if its almost always done for practical reasons despite it often adding a possibly unintentional sense of continuity before, between, and after games, how old some things are, and in this case how much of Online may have been "Stories" prequels, portable spin-offs, other Rockstar Games, or GTA "6(?!)" at any point in time. I *also* like to think most, if not nearly all game devs, especially those with the resources, are like how Nintendo, specifically Shigeru Miyamoto, described their treatment of canceled ideas and games. That is, their unused assets being used later, perhaps in actually released stuff that was once for canceled projects, or better, entire ideas and concepts of a game or within a game finding its way into future releases. What is possibly the most famous example is the ill-fated "Mario 64 2," which likely found a lot of stuff there into 64 DS and Sunshine, while "Mario 128," despite being a tech demo, was claimed to have some of its elements brought into and realized via Mario Galaxy.
I live where donald campbell attempted one of his records. They had to change location due to weather, but he did take it for a spin on the lake. There's a memorial for him and even a pretty good cafe named after the bluebird.
Great video mate. In my opinion it's pretty obvious they are indeed using new assets in GTAOnline updates, because why wouldn't they, and not like we can't prove it with september's leaks. If only the wait was a little bit shorter...
I'm playing NFS Heat now, already beat the story and I'm in love with the soundtrack and the vibe of the game. Sadly it's very short and a wasted potential. As a Brazilian, I kinda feel at home playing it. I hope GTA 6 has a similar feel. Going back to the subject of the video and connecting it to what I wrote here, the Motomami radio may be a reference to the game and a test of the path rockstar is willing to take, maybe they were trying to get the feel of the audience with a radio directed to latinos, younger people, and why not, LGBTQ+. Rosalía is loved by this audience and the other dj, Arca, is a trans woman, as far as I know. I don't think the game will be "woke" like many people are fearing (I wonder why they have that fear though), but more diverse and inclusive. All of the jokes will be there I hope, as the main motto of the series is to laugh at the American society and its capitalist hypocrisy (and as an outsider, it's hilarious). Although today Rockstar falls into that parody too, that's the essence of the game. And of this is lost, well, it's over.
We will get a teaser late this year after they give us the trailer for the December update of GTA Online, they will finally name drop the name of the game(either GTA VI or GTA: Americas... I'm banking on the latter). Then, a full trailer in early 2024 with a release date in late 2024. And then, info drought until the end of 2024, where they come out with a proper trailer and excuse for delaying the game until 2025. The game eventually gets released in 2025, between october and December.
The helicopter is probably modeled after the real version, but the house is likely from GTA 6. They are definitely going to use assets from GTA Online in GTA 6.
@@nickrustyson8124 You're thinking of Zaibatsu. Maibatsu started in III with the Monstrosity ad, which continued through the entire 3D universe games by advertising cars on the radio that aren't actually in the game.
Has anyone else noticed the razor blade in the holiday artwork with the police helicopter? It's very reminiscent of the one seen in the Vice City intro that plays after you boot up the game. I'm not saying it means anything regarding GTA 6, but you never know...
i think all of these are pretty big streches. I'm surprised no one talked about the razor blade, which is a far more straightforward connection to vice city; since a razor blade appears in the game's intro.
I agree to disagree. The more detailed cars that suddenly popped into GTAO when GTA 6 began development or the new E-Cola redesign seen as a car livery was also spotted in the leaks...all signs seem to hint at them backporting assets from VI into Online.
The San Andreas photo is definitely real, in the og game the photos were different so they updated the photos and that image clearly has red dead clouds
what are those vehicles that supposedly had more detail and better physics? id like to compare them with cars they add usually, which are 1:1 replicas with different badges
Possibly some of the Tuners update cars, or vehicles seen with the Agency and such, or for example the Willard Eudora, just look at the rear axle and driveshaft and such under the rear of the car, it's much, much more detailed and well done compared to other older DLC cars, or even the Karin Boor released this week, ya kinda gotta just take some time with more recent cars and take a closer look at em, I think it's really fun
One example would be the Blista Kanjo. They even took a slightly different design direction with it, since it's super close to the real equivalent (90s Honda Civic hatchback), unlike other cars where they took a few creative liberties or sometimes even blended two vehicle designs in one. The Dominator ASP is another example of this.
@@justanotherghost4589 arent tuner update cars more recent? also they're the worst when it comes to their design; basically 1:1 replica, no creativity whatsoever Willard Eudora was seen on the leaked footage so you are correct. Badger mentioned cars from 2019 so im guessing its the casino dlc cars which are truffade thrax , enus paragon R , annis s80RR and few others. That last car is very interesting since its been confirmed that VI's vice city will have a race track
@@BadgerGoodger more like they were lazy with designing new cars, so they just said whatever and made 1:1 replicas, i dont think they would do something like that with VI, although seeing willard eudora might support prove me wrong... its eerily similar to buick platform 1960
@@stobeznog878 yeah, and fair point, detail wise they're still not terrible though, but yeah I guess older cars to seem to be back tracked assets, I'm really curious to see what R* is gonna do when it comes to the race track and cars, I'd love to see a motorsports museum or something where we could find a plethora of race cars, and some rare cars in general
i realize the hospital where i live near by the helicopter they have is alot like the frogger in gta online except in real life it has 3 rotor blades not 4.
There are trainers that lets you spawn Online-only vehicles for PC, but you need find some good ones (like rampage trainer) because greedy bastards from R* added some script that deletes vehicles added since 2016
Just wanna say, I'm not into following many gaming RU-vidrs. You gotta sift through a lot of bullshit to find really good content ESPECIALLY in GTA circles. I'm currently binge watching your content and I haven't picked up V in maybe 3 years. Your content is really fucking good
I remember GTA V coming out, and me telling the homies we probs wouldn't see a new GTA til 2025 because this one was really ambitious. I hate that it's leading that way
What they should do in GTA6 is a tribute. To Ray Leodo. Like a tombstone or some type of statue. Or a reference to Tommy versati? Like MPCs talking about a big drug kingpin that used to live in vice city.
I know this kinda old but Badger, do you think if GTA 4 had the customization options from 5, parachutes, the changeable characters in real time, the variety of weapons from 5, do you think it would be a near perfect game?
It definitely would have made the game feel more complete with the additional content, but I think a big problem the game would still have is the repetitive nature of the missions.
For a long time I thought GTA 6 will play in the late 80 or mid 90 era because they added so much classic cars and they're just creating assets for the game and releasing them in GTA:O
In that xmas thingy with the helicopter, there was also a safety razor blade. Those generally depicted shape was also used in the intro of vice city. Big stretch but that also gives me vibes that 6 will be in Vice
