They really think him banging his sword and yelling at them is part of the show??? These are working soldiers not cabaret dancers!!! Use some common sense and have respect for the military!!!!!❤

Why do these idiotic tourists stand in front of the guard and stare for ages, they're all quite intimidating, just staring at the guard, he's a human, he is working as, his job description says, he is a guard and he is on duty, how would these people like it if they were at work and a load of people stood and stared at them? I doubt they'd like that, well, our guides don't like it, it must make them feel uncomfortable as well..

Good afternoon John and everyone from the USA. What a large horse! Absolutely regal. These horses are some of the most beautiful horses in the world. It's a shame that they are treated like circus animals by some of the tourists. Not all.... but some. Because this is a barracks, couldn't something be done to deter tourists from treating this barracks as a petting zoo? These are working guards and horses. They are in place here for a specific duty. This is a proud calling for these men and women, as well as these magnificent animals. They deserve everyone's respect and thanks for jobs well done. Carry on!!!

I always appreciate how you try to educate people, John! That man actually thought the guard giving body language of being annoyed and stomping means "come closer, come closer"? He's got to be kidding. All of his group acted like it was a private, free show, as similar groups have acted before them. No consideration for anyone else, much less the guard.

An idea....Tourists have to pay £1 for a photo, they queue at the outer side, have a photo then move on. No touching the horse etc.. Happy horse, happy Trooper! 😊

Usual suspects out today their herd in-training trailing along with them. Purposely interfering with the tourist whom legitimately want a picture. John I have read that they have no respect for their own soldiers in Israel because they are exempt from serving. Pretty sure they knew exactly what they were doing and came to taunt.

I think this trooper is amazing and always watching and relaxed on the horse too.

Some people just need to be told, others need to be explained... and other people just need to stay in their own countries and learn some manners.

John, it’s a good thing that you educate these people about the soldiers. They should know. I’m not a brit citizen and I know that they are real soldiers . Some people choose to be stupid.

Perhaps signs should be displayed on both sides of Horseguards telling people ‘You are now entering a Military base ….be respectful or you will be asked to leave’ Most folk these days have access to a translation app…so no excuse about understanding!!

They should have a decoy soldier and horse set-up, for tourists to get their photos and touches in. Doesn't even have to be real, or it could be punishment for whomever is unlucky enough.😂

There is a good idea. If a tourist wants a photo with the guard and horse; hire professional photographers on site at both horse noses. It could be up to four photographers. The tourist pays for the photos inside at a receptionist. They can pay for as many as they want. No one gets near unless they are paying. Anyone caught taking a picture themselves get fined $500 right then or give up their camera.

It's the same type of people that stand and gope and huging the space not letting others take photos

Being owned by a cat, I don't understand why dog people seem to think that they must bring their dogs everywhere. Especially to the Horse Guards, not to mention the ones who bring their dogs with them in their car. To only leave the poor dog in a hot car while they go shopping. Never understood that.

The behavior of some people is so bizarre. Imagine if someone came to your work and just stared at you. Also, if they tried half of these things around military in literally any other country it wouldn't go well for them.

Maybe they need to charge an entrance fee?

Obviously brain dead and can't get the message that this is not acceptable. You are very optimistic John, these people seem to think they are above everyone else and can do as they like.

In what other situation would tourists be allowed to photograph military personnel while they are on duty.

Hi John, you mentioned Overlord and that was what I was thinking as well because I managed to get a peek at its white marking under the forelock when he shook his head. Finally managed to see that he did not have any foot markings which confirms it for me.

Oh here we go again, the sun is out, the sky is blue, with gawking at the troopers and horses by Tourons, child Touron sacrifices, then we have some Tourons playing a variant of the sardine game. Which is let's see how many we can get through the side gate (again) or the other version is let's see how many Tourons we can squeeze through walkway arches onto the parade ground. How many points do the Guards get for how quickly the sheep 🐑 like Tourons move out of the way. 😂

I love the reflections on the cuirass and the sun on the gleaming coats of the horses 😎 , beautiful and shows how much work the Troopers put in on a daily basis . They don't just finish and go for a cuppa when their ceremonial duty is over , it's a very long day !

Had a thought on the left side where the trooper is next to no chain area the chain that is there if they moved it forward and attached on the outside of the wall that would give him several more inches between him and the tourists.

All of the guards Have a lot of discipline. I couldn’t stand having people looking at me for so long. the horses sometimes let them tourist ,Know they’re not happy.

Don’t let them fool you. I grew up on Long Island, NY. I used to go into the city all the time. They are rude, they act as if they are better than you and as if they are owed something. The children are out of control, they let them do whatever they want. Then when confronted, they play dumb. They know exactly what people are talking about. They just don’t care. I’m watching this happen all the time at Horse Guards and it’s the same thing!

Agree/ pay to see, from behind a barrier;touch the horse and get evicted for a month . Offenders pay a fine and must submit a writte n apology

Its a shame that people just treat it as a theme park, a show, and mess about, and dont realise its a real military post and serious! I bet soon they will need to put up rope barriers to keep people back!
