Just got back from seeing it (probably my fav of the trilogy - I thought it was absolutely fantastic) but if I had one genuine criticism for it beyond the wasted placement of the f-bomb, it’d be that Groot & Rocket didn’t feel so paired up this time round :(
I rly thought there would be that in this ngl. Without giving much away, I expected that to be the last one from his several glimpses of flashbacks and we'd finally get to see a cameo from the old Groot from the first movie
@@adderz8619they 100% felt paired. Every time rocket made a decision, groot followed first (when rocket says he’s tired of running) he also knows him as his dad, they remade the scene where rocket jumps on groots back while shooting, not to mention groot was 100% the mvp in usefulness compared to other movies he’s in (probably because of how desperate groot is to save rocket) rocket and groot were more paired than ever.
2014-Gamora was more energetic, bubbly and violent here than 2018-Gamora. Also, Rocket’s backstory is probably the MCU’s most mature story in film to date.
idk you may just be used to all the comedy in phase 4 MCU lol the first 2 phases had some pretty serious character arcs, Tony Stark literally got kidnapped by terrorists 😂
@@luckyplvystbh I definitely felt this was way darker than anything we've seen before... Tony being kidnapped will always be a huge beat change but this...this was vile...yet beautifully tragic story telling of one of our favorite characters. I could be wrong but this will stick with me mentally for a long time as how dark the MCU can get
I'm kind of surprised Jeremy didn't like this one. I think this was one of the most emotional and character focused pieces in the MCU, with a compelling villain and a real maturity to it. I really loved it, probably one of the best MCU outings in a while
@Just Isn't illiciting emotion the entire point of storytelling? To craft a story in such a way as to elicit emotions? To make people feel something, to forget to be analytical or realistic and just be swept away by feelings?
By the third movie - one of things people are not talking about is how competent they are as a team when they're full on fighting or in action. That showed actual progress. They may bicker when not in combat mode but when they get to it, they're now a level beyond. The villain was not a real problem to them. They seem to always have an advantage which is something different. It's other stuff that keeps them struggling.
To be fair, they were always good as a team...kinda the point in 1. They learn from each other immediately...especially with Rocket and Groot, they all learn to rely on each other...hence the ending of part 1...and even more so in the sequel. The problem here is that Warlock literally one shots them in the beginning, which works as a cheap mcguffin to move the the guardians to somehow "get better" and even then was really just for plot, since they're already top tier teammates.
@@shivanshsolanki9644 No He was hating on the fact that this is just the norm MCU , but infact this is how Guardians were and Comedic adventure is properly written and done right when the characters are supposed to be like that in the first place. Other MCUs are trying to be comic reliefs when they are not supposed to be one. Big difference
My eyes were literally filled with tears while watching rocket’s backstory. The way he lost his buddies were quite heartbreaking 😢😢. Loved rocket resilience and his confrontation ❤️❤️
I think High Evolutionary's screaming was fitting mainly due to the fact that one of his primary criteria for a successful batch was lack of aggression. So, when he himself showed aggression by screaming, he subconsciously admits his own imperfection as a specimen, just like in the experiments he rejects or discards. Maybe it was me but he seemed to scream more near the latter half of the movie when he was closer to failure. So, whenever he screamed, he felt himself as one of the failed batches. Maybe its not that deep lol
I think so too. He has god complex, but he actually also feels some kind of inferiority complex. I think that contradiction sometimes made him snap. Like his face shows how imperfect he is. He just can't accept it though he knows it and it annoys him.
Best movie from Phase 4. Also crazy how no one is talking about how good the CGI is, just shows how much great it is more than the recent shows and movies released (Edit: Forgot it's phase 5 now, point still stands)
I respect your opinion Jeremy but I'm feeling the other way about this movie. Thought it was fantastic and should be up in the top with the good marvel movies. I get that everyone was screaming at everyone alot, but to be fair tensions were pretty high just about the entire movie. The villian was great. He has a god/inferiority complex so when he starts losing control of any situation, he starts screaming and lashing out. Everything involving rocket was great. Yeah they could of trimmed down some things but for this to be the send off to the G.O.T.G. I think it's more than fine for them to have a little extra screen time since some of these actors even came out saying they are done playing them
Yup the villain had such a inferiority complex that he couldnt accept a being that he created was able to surpass him, which led to him being obsessed with capturing the said subject at whatever cost.
I really enjoyed and like it waaaay more than GoTG 2 or TSS but the Adam Warlock character was a waste and wasn't really Adam Warlock. The Adam Warlock from TGOTG video game is a more accurate portrayal of the character
This movie was one of the best ones Marvel has put out the past few years. The fact that it was self contained and didn’t feel the need to set up a whole bunch of other movies was refreshing. Hopefully on another watch you feel different about it. This one had heart.
Right? I like that it was self contained too. I think Disney should have just played around in the MCU for a good 10 years after Endgame, and then started another storyline.
I’m surprised you didn’t love this film, it’s instantly one of my fav mcu movies to date. The backstory was great, the saving a friend plot worked really well for me, all the jokes landed for me and the emotional moments made me tear up. The ending was fantastic and I really loved this film
It wasn’t executed properly imo, a lot of the writing felt lazy esp with all the exposition scenes basically video game plotting you to the next scene. Action was great and visuals were amazing but I can see a lot of the recent super hero movie fatigue here
@@SVINTFC The writing showed how much Gunn cares about the world. The deep emotions that each character goes through in this finale of the guardians team. You can’t always expect things to be perfect cause they really never can be. I think we watched two different movies because this movie had a lot of emotion and character. As the person above said I think you are just mad depressed and should really question how hard it is to perfect writing.
One of the better movies that Marvel has produced in a while! The villain was generally a terrifying person. Even the flash backs were executed better then the set up for Kang. Which is sad because kang is meant to be the new thanos and honestly the High Evolutionary was the best thing since end game. I didn’t care much for Adam I thought his character was perfect for this role. Remember he was literally born so he would have a child’s mind set. I liked the send off for all the characters so they can basically bring them back.
No way home was a great experience Wakanda and shang chi were solid movies MoM had personality Can't you just say that of the good movies that have been, this is the one you enjoyed the most? Why to congratulate a movie do we have to discredit the merit of other movies?
@@owenharrison761 That's...What he said...I mean, he wrote the comment himself so he doesn't need to explicitly state that it is his opinion But to be fair, I didn't understand that when I was younger
I can’t believe you and Chris Stuckman didn’t love the film. I feel like this movie rewarded people who were fans of the first two movies. Everything Rocket made me tear up and I loved how unabashedly cruel the villain was and had a lot personality. Best Marvel film of the last few years. Only one to stand toe to toe is No way home imo
I can see the criticisms of both as being valid. I did really, really enjoy this movie, but not everything works. That said, it does seem like some reviewer are double-speaking. The things they criticized other MCU movies for are corrected here, but reviewers are now flipping and saying the opposite of what they were saying before. Example: Thor LAT was too short and rushed, but now Guardians is too long. Ant-Man 3 didn’t have emotional stakes, but now Vol3 is too emotional. MCU was missing autuer vision, but Vol3 is the MOST James Gunn of all the movies and it’s still somehow not enough. That’s why the audience score on RT is so much higher than the critic score. Film critics are starting to lose the thread on MCU movies and just arbitrarily add negatives.
Reviewers watch movies as a job and that tends to shape the way they consume media. So while they're watching they're also looking for things to discuss, and negatives will always stick out more. And if you've ever been alone with negative thoughts you know that tends to make small negatives into much larger ones, that's what's happening with reviewers. It's why fresh movie reviewers tend to be more positive or open and older reviewers tend to be harsher on movies. It's not experience, it's a general numbness that starts to build to good movies because they're always looking to compare the movie to something else, and that ruins your ability to just enjoy what you're seeing. It's why reviewers are usually at odds with the audience, the audience is there to enjoy, reviewers (regardless of what they claim) are there to pick it apart for the purpose of creating content.
I am actually really surprised you didn’t like this one very much. I thought this movie was pretty incredible and actually avoided a lot of the common MCU-isms. I loved how dark and mature it got with Rocket’s story and thought it balanced the humor well and didn’t undercut any of the emotional moments. The character work was excellent and the ending was so wholesome and satisfying. Also, although there was a lot of CGI, I thought it actually had the best VFX of any marvel movie maybe ever, idk that’s how it felt when I saw it.
@@BasketCase-rr7tx You know that’s saying something given how back no further than 2015, Jeremy was one of the most optimistic RU-vid reviewers who always got us hyped for a Marvel movie. @@vighneshkoalapunani8851 Future? People have been saying that since after Endgame by the Russo brothers, then after No Way Home by Jon Watts, then after this one. Same old pattern.
The emotional hit I took from this movie was bigger than any movie I've seen. Rocket's backstory ripped my heart out. I can't think about it without my lip trembling and tears welling up.
Gunn plagiarized it from "Sucker Punch", people noticed so since before the movie came out. He wants to be Zack so bad. Too bad he looks and tweets like Rolf Harris.
Rocket going back to free all of the animals & "lower lifeforms" was a beautiful moment. Also I kind of like that Adam Warlock was just a straight up idiot to keep him from being a straight up deus ex machnina or from being able to solve the movie immediately, to make sure that the whole official Guardians team got their time to beat down the High-Evolutionary together. The DC universe is definitely in good hands with Gunn co-running it, I hope he gives the Justice League roster as much heart as he's given the Guardians.
I don't know what to feel about Gunn in charge of DC because, while I liked his movies at the MCU, He also fired Henry Cavill as Superman, and also that he is resetting the entire franchise instead of continuing and bringing it to a closure. I really like the previous movies (MOS, BVS, WW, ZSJL) but i guess not many people liked it which is fine. I just hope that he does not make DC's style and tone too similar to Marvel. That's one of the things I admired about the previous movies
Especially considering if they did put Adam Warlock into one of the Avengers movies involving Thanos he definitely would have felt like an even more out of place touch in it considering we already had Captain Marvel filling that void (and we all know how people felt about her at first), involving him with the Guardians in this sort of way doesn't really damage his character at all honestly so he still has time to grow into what we know of him from the comics. And about Gunn, like someone else said thankfully we didn't get a _"DC Style"_ propaganda because that would've dampened the uniqueness of all the films as a whole. Regarding creative differences between him and Henry Cavill (who I am saddened that he will no longer be Superman as it seems now) I'm looking forward to his approach for future DC films.
@@peshvanpatel843i mean he made like the most violent dc film; even tho its still p lighthearted it was extremely mature. based on that im thinking he wont change the tone that much but idk
Surprised by the verdict. This felt like a return to the old MCU form. Thor L&T and Antman Q felt like forced comedy, with the guardians, it just flows. It’s who they are and who they’ve been. I’m sad it’s come to an end because it’s the first Marvel film I’ve really enjoyed since endgame and Spiderman No way Home. It was a satisfying end for all the characters and felt like a real ending for them. I’m excited to see what comes next for the Guardians, maybe not all together but still having that possibility is awesome. Definitely excited to see what they do with Starlord being on Earth again. I hope we get to see Gamora again! I’m sad James Gunn is leaving, but excited to see what he can do with DC.
Guardians movies, despite being genuine comedies, seem to understand very well WHEN it's time for comedy. All three titles do. They possess some of the best comedic moments in the MCU, but each title also had surprisingly poignant emotional moments, definitely some of the best in the MCU as well. And it all works because, unlike movies made by SOME directors (looking at you, Taika Waititi), the Guardians movies don't ruin the important emotional payoff moments by immediately lobbing a joke as if to defuse the tension. They have lots of comedy, but they don't lump it together with the drama. All Marvel movies used to do this once, but Thor: Ragnarok changed the landscape and from that moment on, most of the remaining movies tried to copy that cheap comedic relief that does nothing but ruin serious scenes for a quick chuckle. Guardians movies, however, maintained their formula and that's why they still feel the same kind of good. That's why all three are strong candidates for the best MCU movies.
@@zootin6688 What about Black Panther Wakanda Forever? I seriously cried so much during that movie--maybe not in the same way as the "On your left" scene from Endgame, I was seriously crying so hard from happiness, no joke--due to the raw emotions coming from the whole cast using their grief from Chadwick's death, it was just sooo powerful, and the cast had the breathing room to show their emotions. This movie had me cry several times as well for partly the same reason--the cast was given breathing room to show emotions instead of ruining the moment with unnecessary humor and I am a huge lover of animals, so seeing them mistreated got me really good.
@@japanesekoreanfan2 sadly, wakanda forever didn't really resonate with me all that much, but youre actually right, that scene did make me feel some type of way for sure.
@@zootin6688 They lost me a bit with Peter running about without his flying boots and mask, endangering himself at the end, and then somehow surviving that tomfoolery. Felt very contrived. Drax still lacked a fair bit of depth, and I'd say maybe the Rocket/Lyla relationship was done better in the Telltale game? Beyond that, still lots of good stuff.
I think they really blew it with Thor love and thunder not having Guardians in the whole movie. I would have loved to see Thor and Quill trying to reconcile with their loves and trading advice on relationships and than their is Gor who has basically given up on all life, could've been a secret movie about love, hope and never giving up on those you love BUT that would have involved better writing! ;p
Totally agree but the had to make Thor stupid and childish, they had Christian Bale as an evil god but nope they had to drop the ball with fart jokes and dumb dialogue.
Kinda think you’re underselling how well executed this film was as a closer to the series. I left the theater extremely satisfied, similar to how I felt after No Way Home.
I love how wholsesome this movie is. On top of being just another superhero movie, it's a story about love and friendship. And those are stories worth telling.
Them yelling at each other showed that they were a real family now. Nebula and Mantis felt like they were sisters, with Drax being Nebula's younger brother.
Guardians of The Galaxy is the most compelling of the Marvel series to me. If this is the final entry for now, I'm glad to hear it's getting a "mostly" impactful and satisfying send off. Also, can never get enough Rocket!
Gotta disagree with you on this one, man. This movie was far better than the other “space adventures” in the MCU. Better than Ragnarok, better than Quantumania, shit, better than Guardians 1!
I have to disagree with Jeremy, this movie really plucked my heartstrings and I think it's the best of the trilogy. I even think it's the third best MCU film! Cried for like an hour of the runtime, too lol. Absolutely adored it.
Exactly. This is a good MCU movie. I don’t know why he is so harsh about it. His main argument is “it feels like other mcu space adventure movie”. That doesn’t make it bad
I strongly disagree with Jeremy this movie is top tier marvel… when is there gonna be another mcu movie that has heart like this one? Although I loved this movie I do have a complaint about Adam warlock I thought he was poorly handled, he was hyped up for so long I was expecting more from him in this film.

@@queenb2450 this movie was a great movie and if released before infinity war would be considered amazing but here we are with many reviewers giving nitpicky negative critics
It’s rare I disagree with you Jeremy but I think there are enough factors to differentiate this between this and the other Phase 4 movies. It’s the first time I’ve felt emotional since Spiderman No Way Home. The balance between the dark and humour was done so well it didn’t feel out of place at any time. Hats off to everyone because this has come at a time well after End Game and it has still managed to capture that magic
Aside from Wakanda Forever, I think this movie realistically handled the after-effects of the snap. In this movie, Gamora was dealing with unresolved anger and Peter was basically a high-functioning alcoholic. Nebula and and others practically enabled him. Even though Drax and Mantis were still quirky, they had a lot of depth. Nebula went from hating everyone to pretty much being the mother of the group. Hell, even Rocket was starting to mature.
@@leonardobraynen1524 A good idea for another Marvel mini-series would be one about she and Gamora as kids. We saw some of their story in flashbacks, but I feel like a show would expand on their relationship.
They didn’t dig into Gamora’s conflict enough imo. I enjoyed Nebula’s character. Not sure why Adam warlock was even in the movie, also not sure why James Gunn has to make every character into a stupid head. It got old pretty fast. Would have been nice if rocket were in the movie more. The second film left the team in a pretty good place but we never got to see the fruits of that imo.
@@SojiRo23 You're right. We saw what happened to Gamora after she came back, but we don't know the full context of her anger. Yeah, looking back Adam Warlock could've had more of a purpose. Will Poulter is an underrated actor. I feel like everyone who was "stupid" got a lot of emotional growth. Honestly, the character who took a step back in terms of growth was Star-Lord. That guy had alcoholism and a lot of personal issues. He basically relied on everyone else to clean up after him and side with him against Gamora.
Saw it yesterday and my goodness, is Rocket's backstory haunting. I genuinely felt unsettled after watching it. It kind of reminded me of a documentary I'd watched about child soldiers

I saw your review before the movie came out and was shocked by the rating. Then I saw the movie an hour later and was in tears a couple times and had a lot of fun so far. I thought this was my personal favorite of the 3 movies
I can understand this movie not being for everybody, it’s a lot. But, in the same way so many people hated Vol. 2 and love it after revisiting it years later, I think Vol. 3 will stand the test of time more than most MCU films because it has a voice. It’s bold, mature, creative, and emotionally powerful, and I think it’ll grow on people SO much more years from now.
@@stevendalloesingh1214 Vol. 2 is my personal favorite of the three, it’s honestly a top 2 MCU movie for me 😂 I guess I get it though, it’s not for everyone, I’m just happy it’s generally getting more love now than it originally did
most who hated this is because it tends to move away abit from MCU formula, this GOTG was dark but the humor was still there. and i love that, MCU Comedy is too boring for me now
Movie was really good and heavy on the emotions. Made me cry and laugh throughout. When we got home after the movie, we just held our dogs who we adopted from the shelter some time ago. Well done Marvel. I like how they're also starting to bring some of that rated R content to the MCU in preparation for what's to come (Deadpool).
It’s gonna be a huge loss for marvel with James Gunn jumping ship to DC. I’m just happy he was able to go out on a high note in Guardians 3 . I’m gonna miss this team 😢
By the same token, we could get some really good DC movies, if Gunn can maintain the kind of balance between humor and drama that he demonstrates in this movie. :)
Find it really weird Jeremy and Stuckmann didn’t love this film, I thought it was easily one of the best Marvel movies. I really liked everything with Rocket’s backstory, it was super emotional and so damn sad. James Gunn is one of the few Marvel directors/writers these days that seems to know when to joke as well as be serious.
Watch the film theorist video about film reviews. Basically these guys are forced to watch so many movies and TV shows that they end up hating everything
Rocket's backstory is important, but it is not the whole movie. I also couldn't hold my tears couple times because of Rocket, but the rest of the movie was really mediocre. So the movie for me is 6.5 pulled up by the Rocket(that is a solid 10) and dragged down by the new MCU cliche humor and bad written jokes.
I don’t see how anyone could give this movie less than a 9 out of 10. It really had everything you could’ve asked for, and was probably one of the most emotional marvel movies I’ve seen. The characters all felt important and had things to do, nobody felt like they didn’t get their shine. I really hope maybe in a few years people will come around to appreciate it more. I understand right now people have Marvel fatigue but this movie showed that when executed properly Marvel can still make excellent films. I think this is easily the best Guardians film and probably the best MCU film since Endgame.
I don’t see how anyone won’t hate the oldies music pop up everywhere every time it is freakingly annoying. Literally in your face. Other than that the movie is good.
10/10 for me. I've thought about it for a few days, but there's nothing I don't like about it. It's as masterclass as Infinity War for me. Non-stop thrills, laughs, and some hard-hitting emotional peaks. I don't know what else people expected.
First marvel movie that made me genuinely feel something since endgame & NWH. Love the chemistry the actors had with each other. The jokes landed, action was exceptional, the special effects were easily the best of the last 2 phases and the emotional moment REALLY hit for me. I was pleasantly surprised! 9/10!
I thought that GOTG3 is one of the best and most different MCU movies. The whole tone of the movie felt more like a personal story about a group of friends and not the usual factory-made garbage like quantumania. Loved it! Can't wait to rewatch it.
That's because the film was mature and actually tried. Most Marvel movies are just corny cash grabs that people constantly eat up and I do not understand it.
This movie surprised me, it had a great balance between heart and action. Loved it. It's 9/10 to me, your miles may vary. Also, could you imagine if someone else wrote and directed this film other than James Gunn?
It'd never have been the Guardians of the Galaxy we know and love if not for James Gunn. If any of his DC movies that he personally helms intrigue me, I'm definitely watching them.

Pom Klementieff had buried the ‘Guardians Vol. 3’ Script in Karen Gillan’s Garden to Keep It a Secret After James Gunn’s Firing!! Good thing because this was a far better experience then the trailers let on. All the characters are more developed & Pom is hilarious & was comedic brilliance here. I want to see more of her character as it keeps getting more interesting. They finally fixed some of her weaker traits as well. As Mantis was never a weak character in the comics as far from it. They left enough open when i think her character could play a more central role later. Overall Guardians 3 was great!!
The reason why Adam Warlock was so dumb and stupid in some scenes was because he a baby in a superhuman body. Hence why he only follows orders from only his mom and why he says and does some pretty dumb things. In this movie he is only a couple years old. I also think that he made some scenes naturally more funny.
Completely with Jeremy on this, saw the movie yesterday and it's a very mid film imo. James gunn can be hit or miss for me and this one just did not work for me.
@MrGenexxx That is fair enough, I really like super and The Suicide Squad but his style can get on my nerves sometimes. A lot of guardians 3 is people just shouting at each other and it started to get very annoying very fast.
It was a fun time, and every character had more to do here than in previous films. Drax was still funny as heck, but somehow they also gave him more heart and weight = respect. Chris Pratt was charming as always.. That_said, this is 100% Rockets movie, and all of the best emotional stuff in G3 involves him ❤️
So thankful Marvel finally pulls out a GREAT movie after the abomination that was Ant-Man 3 and their slew of lackluster films/shows. Here's hoping this is the first one in a turnaround for the franchise and not just the final spark of a once-great series.
Honestly the first mcu film in such a long time I actually really enjoyed. Hyped to see if James Gunn brings this same energy to the DCU. That hallway fight was awesome.
This is probably the first review that I disagree with Jeremy. Sure everyone is entitled to their opinions absolutely, however this is definitely one of the funnest movie experiences I have had with Marvel in a LONG TIME! I just finished watching it and I can’t remember the last time I was borderline holding back tears to laughing my ass off a few mins later. Guardians is definitely not for everyone, but I can say for certain this is one my favorite Marvel movies ever. Must watch!
I like you Jeremy, but are you actually going to criticise the original comedic space adventure series in the MCU for continuing to be what it always was? That's not the fault of this film. That's the fault of the MCU.
At this point the MCU cant win with Jeremy, his opinions are starting to feel less unique and more like what everyone is saying, seems like he's just on the mcu hate bandwagon. Strongly advice you just watch the movies first before watching his reviews.
I’m honestly surprised that this movie went as hard as it did. Even though I figured from the trailer that the stakes would be higher and there would be less comedy and more drama, I’m still pretty blown away by what I saw. Rocket’s backstory gave me flashbacks to the Made in Abyss anime and almost had me on the verge of tears, I felt so bad for him and the other animals he became friends with. I love it when movies like this and Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness push the envelope on what they can get away with for film ratings lower than an R or NC-17, because there are some moments in this that really do border on R but I’m glad younger audiences are given a taste of that. It’s good to have that little nudge outside of your comfort zone every now and then. This film exceeded my expectations for sure!
@@samirh2758speaking as someone who didn't really like the movie, it's perfectly fine for people of any age or gender to get emotional over it. Empathy shouldn't be shameful.
I was so close to crying multiple times through out the film. I will say this, they really didn't a good job of making you feel rockets pain/anguish. Every time they dove more into his backstory you questioned how he even turned out semi-ok instead becoming someone that wants to burn the the world.
Aw man. This makes me feel like Jeremy’s lost his ability to enjoy movies :( Couldn’t disagree with you more, man, this movie was unique in every way and absolutely incredible.
Dude I feel the same way. Instead of watching it as a movie in itself he did so through a mcu lens which makes sense to the extent of this is a mcu movie but this is the guardians story and the mcu is in the background
I’m actually pretty surprised by this review. Sure we’ve seen space adventures a lot recently in the mcu, but this movie to me still felt extremely unique because of the amazing characterisation that took place throughout. The movie is also beautiful both visually and emotionally. I saw this movie with 3 friends who cried at multiple points and we agreed it was probably top tier. I’m surprised Jeremy was so hard on it.
I really enjoyed this. Thought it was a great way to cap off the trilogy. Honestly I wish there were more films with this team, bc it seems like we just got to know them. I thought this film did Ana amazing job balancing the seriousness and comedy. I would say this film pushed the envelope on darker or serious super hero movies. Which I am excited about
Way too harsh, Jeremy. This at least deserved "It's a good time. No alcohol required". I saw it last night with a couple guys and we all loved it! My audience was applauding by the end.
I just came back from seeing the movie for the second time and think it is an amazing movie. Top 5 mcu for me. With all due respect to Jeremy, but his mcu movie reviews lost all credit for me when he ranked Infinity War lower than Age of Ultron, in combination with giving Thor: The Dark World a "buy it on blu-ray".
I personally think this movie is the best upon the first viewing. The suspension is there since you don't know if anyone'll die or not. I was lucky enough to avoid all spoilers so I was on edge the entire time. With that said, the post credit with "star lord will return" and the new guardian team kinda make the movie seem pointless.
I’m totally with you on this, unfortunately there’s so much content to cover, sometimes things get lost along the way……..I really wanted to see a big reveal of Adam Warlock coming out of the cocoon, there’s just so much to squeeze in, especially when the main storyline of the film is a Rocket back story………I spose the 1st film absolutely nailed it in every department, so that was always going to be a lot to live up to for the 2 sequels.
fuck adam warlock, this was a movie about mutilating animals with robot parts. Shit's fucked up. The rest of the movie could be literal fart noises for all i care. I can forgive all the problems this movie has for Rocket's backstory alone.
I feel this movie is more important than most other superhero movies lately Mostly because if people dislike it, Marvel will be in huge trouble after Quantumania and the future of DC will be in question But im hearing people like this movie so im relieved
Marvel would be fine no matter what. Beside the Guardians' stories are detached from most MCU content, so it's not like this would have that much effect on Phase 5's plot.

Disagree on the verdict, think it’s hilarious and probably closer to BIOB for me. However I do agree with what you said (to a point) and makes me wonder if Gunn has always intended to write 4 movies but due to past issues and new commitments he’s had to smoosh it down into 3. Still my favourite movie of the year so far will probably watch it again
Numbering in movie titles need to come back, especially with how many of these stuff are pouring out lately. It makes it easier for the general audience to keep track of everything lol and with the Guardians ending I'm not sure which other franchise is going to use it. Deadpool maybe? Hope they just stick to Deadpool 3 please...
Saw it last night because I heard it was the best MCU flick to date. I still think the first Guardians was better. Everything to do with Rocket and his backstory was phenomenal. Outside of that, yeah, the movie was fun and visually looked great, but honestly, it's not all that amazing. I was expecting Warlock to have a much larger role, but I guess I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. I think Rocket is the reason everyone is raving about the movie being so great, when really, it's just Rocket.
I feel like it’s the best movie amongst the whole trilogy and pretty much since the phase 4. The characters had ample emotional depth I could really see some people literally crying while I was in the theatre. The villain felt like a villain not something what happened with Quantamania. Not gonna lie I loved the movie
I think somehow, Guardians 3 manages to be unique even with the space settings, because of all the creativity they go for. The giant organic building, the furry planet, the different planets, they really do try to be fun with this, and go further than before
Nope, the only unique superhero film released since The Dark Night is Spider-Verse. Guardians is more of more of an old MCU formula but this time made with excellence. But it’s def not unique
@@Joydeep2000 No I mean why did you have to pee!? You maybe could have hold it. There's no way in hell I'm ever walking out of a theatre while the movie is playing. I have a small bladders so I make sure not to drink before or during and to pee right before I go in even if I don't have to. And that scene was amazing.
Eh, the majority of reviewers online are actually super positive about it which is great to see. It’s mainly only Jeremy, Chris Stuckmann and a few Rotten Tomatoes critics that are iffy with it
Just watched yesterday. It absolutely blew me away. Never loved the guardians, they were always aight. But omg this movie has more heart than pretty much anything I’ve ever seen
You know, i kinda got surprised to hear him say 'it’s good if you are drunk' & the movie is genuinely good & he seemed to enjoy it very much. Just tryina figure out why he said that??
The High Evolutionary is an absolute monster in this movie. Just something about a villain that experiments on cute animals. For those who may have small children, this movie may not be for them as the story does get very dark at points, especially as it goes into Rocket's back story. For me, children 10 and up can see it, but any younger it may be too much for them
This is one of the best Marvel movies. A very personal film exploring Rockets past. I was on the edge of my seat in the cinema throughout the whole movie. People were crying in my theatre. James Gunn killed it in this.
I think that this was an Endgame quality film, it wrapped up so much, gave everyone just enough screen time, and concluded in such a satisfying way while opening for more.
The amount of characters made out of experimentation in this franchise is wild. Rocket, Nebula, Gamora, Peter, Mantis, Cosmo, and Adam Warlock. Possibly more.
Watched the premiere last night. I had a really good time. A movie that's definitely self aware on how silly it is. At the same time, the tone can do a complete 180 in a second.
Just watched this film on opening night Oh my goodness, I didn't expect to get this emotional. It was so symbolic, dark and traumatic. It was so refreshing to see a marvel film go down those dark twisted routes The villain, omg he was ruthless and unhinged. Rockets backstory with the trauma of animal abuse and the torture. The very bittersweet film. Theres so much to say about this fim
Saw it today and really enjoyed it. I thought it was a terrific goodbye to this iteration of the Guardians. I also thought the High Evolutionary's meltdown was well done. I definitely recommend it.
