In the premiere episode of Season VI, I take on a very special and unique Fragrance in my collection, a rare bottle of the original L'Instant de Guerlain Eau Extreme, a Fragrance I only wear once a year on my birthday.
Sometimes in your life the universe just seems to align. A few days ago I’d heard Chris mention this video and as you are probably my most eagerly anticipated reviewer I thought I’ll need to catch that. I’ve missed you over the past few months. Of course I promptly forgot all about it. Today is a cold overcast autumn morning inToronto at 12°C and I thought I need a bit of uplifting so I pulled out my bottle of GUERLAIN-L’Instant Pour Homme edt. I’m 62 and three years ago a dear friend past away at 27 and I’ll be honest with you that hit me hard, the realization that life is ephemeral. Today in my random morning routine I stumbled across this and now something I would not have thought, I’ve wept at a fragrance video. And this is 100% the truth, a ray of sunlight passed through my window at the end. Thank you George. Keep plugging away, eventually your talent will be rewarded. Holy shit. This wasn’t a fragrance video at all. This was a video about how precious life is, and it truly touched me deeply. Forget the amazing fragrance that you discussed here...this video transcended fragcomm in every single damn way imaginable. Thank you for this, George. Honestly. I am a teacher and this much different year has started to morph into a complete time vampire. Stress levels are up, and I am constantly becoming more self deprecating with every day. You intrigued me to check out this fragrance in your reformulation skit a few years back. I now have an almost-full bottle of this (yes, the black-rimmed bottle) that I wear from time to time - it's lovely. I was NOT expecting a full-on film tribute to this! What a joy. In a RU-vid world of top 10 "BUY THIS NOW!!1!1!" videos, it's very refreshing to see a review done of a fragrance that, for all intents and purposes, is discontinued. This video was more than worth the wait! Such art and the ability to show your compassion of what you love, while putting out a message. All the while, talking about such a beautiful fragrance! This video was truly amazing George. You’re in your own league in the fragrance community. Honestly a pioneer of how you go about making your fragrance content. You use your backdrops and the environment around you to paint the smell of the fragrance in our minds and it’s wonderfully done.

I am hoping that this is the style of video that we can look forward to through the rest of Season VI. It's great to see the creativity and cinematography that pulled me into your channel years ago. This is so different than the mundane drivel that is being presented in the majority of RU-vid videos. I love it.

I purchased LIDGE back in the day when it was being hyped and...well, it was okay, but I actually preferred LIDG. Still, it's nice to cover these classics, which seems to be forgotten almost overnight as people quickly moved to the next hype scent. Cheers!
For many years, LIDGE was my signature scent ... you can not imagine how disappointed I was, when I realized, that Guerlain have discontinued this beautiful scent. The reformulated L'Instant de Guerlaint EDP version, is by far not comparable to the old juice. I would even say, that reformulation is big disappointment. Anyway, thank you for this great review.
