Thanks, I have wanted to make one for a while. Truthfully, I was not expecting it to turn out so awesome! Now the testing will begin! Thanks for watching the vlog!
Very nice video! I’ve made a few alcohol stoves over the years, including the ones you made. Generally, under ideal conditions you should be able to bring 16 ounces of water to a boil with just half an ounce of Heet. I cut a piece of hardware cloth to make my pot stand, with 1” sweet spot between the bottom of the flame and the bottom of the pot. A foil wind screen is also needed to shield at least a third the way up the pot. I love these puck style alcohol stoves.
Really, I heard the opposite but willing to give it a try. Wonder if they could be used together? Got to love all the different possibilities! Thanks for watching the video.
I’ve seen others use carbon felt, but never the ceramic - nice. Regarding the fold out cup, I had one and decided to cast it aside because mine was too flimsy that while holding it between my thumb and finger the side of the cup would touch my finger and it would be too hot.
I have not used the carbon felt ones yet. It is on the todo list. Yeah I am not a fan of the cup but need to give it a few more chances. Thanks for watching the video.
The question is, will it boil with one oz as opposed to your titanium stove. Efficiency is likely only needed on a through hike. Being non spill is great. The sea to summit flat cup with the ridges for hot beverages is an excellent cup amd folds flat. Too wide to fit in your kit, but can sit under it. It should be close to the same radius as your new burner.
Let the testing commence! I was almost expecting it not to work. There is nothing to this stove. Food will be prepared on it soon! Thanks for watching the vlog!
